In 2588 on Blue Star, a failed human experiment caused the "Corrupted" to spread globally, and the apocalypse descended. Bearing the ambition to save the world, the genius researcher Ling Shi encountered the mysterious, mentally disturbed man Lu Tingxiao in their intertwined destinies.

Although their first encounter was terrible, they still decided to travel together. Along the way, a survivor was surrounded by the Corrupted, their clothes ragged, wounds gushing blood, moments from death. Lu Tingxiao scoffed disdainfully, "They'll die sooner or later, no need to save them."

Ling Shi gritted his teeth, his expression firm: "I want to try." It was only then that he realized he was the world's unique purifier.

...At the besieged human outpost in North Africa, the president hastily wiped his fingers and welcomed the savior who had just turned the tide of battle with reverence. Lu Tingxiao casually flicked blood from the corner of his clothes and walked up to Ling Shi:
