Australia and America
Australasia is the only island nation located far from the Afro-Asian continental plate, situated in the Southern Hemisphere. Its flight time to the country is similar to that of Rams.
After flying all night, they finally approached the sky above Australasia.
As the plane descended, the outline of the island came into view.
"Huh?" Lu Tingxiao looked at the ground through the window. "Look, what's that gray circle?"
Ling Shi also saw it.
A gray wall had appeared along the entire continent of the Austro-American island nation. It was about five or six meters high, gleaming with a metallic sheen, and occasionally sparks of electricity could be seen.
After flying all night, Ling Shi's anger had mostly subsided.
When it came to the mission, he answered seriously, "There wasn't one before. It should have been built recently, and it's probably related to the corrupted people of the end times."
Didi——
Didi——
A red light suddenly lit up on the plane's instrument panel.
There is a signal requesting access.
Strange, where could this signal come from?
The call was connected immediately at midnight.
"This is Australasia Airport, this is Australasia Airport."
"We've detected you approaching Austromeria. Where are you coming from?"
The signal transmitted was a male voice speaking standard English.
It’s actually Australia and America Airport!
The airport actually still maintains surveillance of the sky!
Real-time monitoring is not an easy task in this day and age.
Ling Shi immediately replied: "Here are Chinese soldiers, here are Chinese soldiers."
"The elite special forces White Eagle Team, under orders from China, has come here for international exchange."
"China?!" The man on the ground was obviously shocked. "Great! There really are people from other countries surviving out there."
"Please follow the ground instructions and land at the designated location."
Ling Shi followed the ground arrangements and slowly landed the plane at the Australia-America Airport.
As soon as they got off the plane, an officer in a white air force uniform jogged towards them.
He was about thirty years old, Caucasian, about the same height as Lu Tingxiao, with curly brown hair and a very kind face.
"Welcome." The officer changed his address to Chinese and extended his hand. "I'm Edward Green, and I'm very happy to meet our friends from China."
Lu Tingxiao also extended his hand: "Captain Lu Tingxiao of the White Eagle Team, these are my teammates."
Green nodded to the crowd, said hello, and turned sideways: "Please follow me."
The White Eagles followed Green into the airport building.
The building is very spacious, with rows of lounge chairs placed everywhere, and many world-renowned shopping brands on both sides. From these furnishings, we can see the prosperity of the airport in the past.
Unfortunately, this place is now empty, with no one in sight.
Green explained as he walked, "After the apocalypse, all flights were canceled. Now, I'm the only one stationed here. I was just in case, but I didn't expect to actually meet an international friend."
He smiled and said, "The Prime Minister would be very happy to meet you."
Lu Tingxiao also smiled and seemed easy to talk to. "We didn't expect that Australia and America would still retain air surveillance. Speaking of which, what is the current situation in Australia and America?"
Speaking of this, Green couldn't help but puff out his chest, looking very proud. "I can guarantee that there's no country in the world like Australia and America that can still basically maintain the pre-apocalyptic order of life."
"The order of life before the apocalypse?" Lu Tingxiao was shocked. "You mean... your people weren't too affected by this disaster?"
How is that possible?!
"Yes." Green nodded happily. "This is thanks to the foresight of our Prime Minister."
He opened a door, letting Lu Tingxiao pass first before following in. "Back when the dragon horn bones were distributed to Australia and America, the government had a heated discussion about dragon horn research. At that time, the Prime Minister insisted that the potential of this dragon spine bone was still unknown, so to be on the safe side, we should conduct research on an isolated island."
Independent island?
The remains of the dragon horn are not on the territory of Australia and America?
Green continued excitedly, "The President approved his opinion. So, from the beginning, the Dragon Horn has never polluted the air of Australasia."
"Later, we heard that the corrupt people from Country M had spread all over the world. It was the Prime Minister who, against all odds, built a protective wall around the Australasian island at the fastest speed and with a massive amount of money."
After walking through a wide open space, Green led everyone onto an escalator. "Of course, thanks to the island nature of Austro-America, surrounded by the ocean, the Corrupted didn't infiltrate immediately, giving us enough time to complete this protective wall."
"So, until now, Australia and America have never encountered a wave of corrupt people."
The White Eagles followed him across the entire airport and were almost at the airport exit.
What Green said really shocked them greatly.
"What a shame," Green said, pushing open the airport exit door and leading them to a bus. "We knew the influx of corrupted humans outside was serious, so we had to immediately stop all flights. Otherwise, there's a risk of corrupted humans sneaking in mid-flight."
He opened the bus door and walked up to the main entrance first. "I'll take you to see the Prime Minister. By the way, what's the current situation in China?"
Lu Tingxiao and the others got in the car.
Green sat in the driver's seat and Lu Tingxiao sat in the passenger seat.
"China wasn't as lucky as Australia and America, and we suffered heavy losses. However, we established a disaster relief base and managed to preserve the seeds of humanity."
Green started the bus and nodded: "That's a blessing in disguise."
The bus drove out of the airport and headed towards the avenue outside.
Green controlled the steering wheel, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, and continued to ask, "You guys came here with a mission this time, right?"
"Yes." Lu Tingxiao nodded. After a moment's thought, he said, "We've made some progress in our research on dragon horns, but we've also encountered some difficulties. That's why we wanted to come to Australia and America for research and exchange. Perhaps, we can hopefully end this apocalypse soon."
At this point, Green frowned: "Research exchange? You are all soldiers..."
"We brought a researcher with us." Lu Tingxiao explained briefly, but did not mention any names.
"Oh." Green's expression was still somewhat gloomy, and it was obvious that he was very resistant to the dragon horn. "However, the dragon horn of Austro-America has been buried on that isolated island. Now, the island is closed, with no way in or out. It has become an isolated island."
"If you want to discuss past achievements with the researchers, you still have a chance. But if you want to touch the dragon horn, that's impossible."
Lu Tingxiao didn't respond to this, but only praised: "Australia is indeed very cautious. No wonder it became the last prosperous country."
The bus was driving on the highway. After a while, we could occasionally see cars on the road and people walking on the roadside.
Just as Green had said, everything here was in perfect order. Aside from the fewer cars and people, and a slightly more desolate atmosphere, it was no different from the previous heyday.
After driving for about half an hour, the bus stopped at the door of a magnificent building complex.
Green honked the horn, and an iron gate that could accommodate four cars running in parallel slowly opened, and the bus drove into the building complex.
This place looks like a sanatorium, with only two cars on the road in both directions. The roadside is lined with brightly colored flowers and plants, and occasionally there are lawns of varying sizes, like tiny plant spirits, embellishing this peaceful and tranquil area.
After driving for about ten minutes, the bus stopped in front of a three-story villa.
Green turned and said to everyone, "I've reported this to the Prime Minister, and he's very happy. But... a warning, don't mention anything about the dragon horn. It's killed so many people, and the Prime Minister hates it the most."
Everyone on the White Eagle team followed Green out of the car.
The villa in front of them looked very warm, like the home of an ordinary rich person.
However, there was a sign on the wall at the entrance of the villa: Australian and American Federal Parliament Office.
There is a soldier with a gun standing guard on each side of the entrance.
The two soldiers obviously knew Green and did not stop him.
A group of people went in in a mighty manner.
Walking up to the second floor, the living room has been converted into an office space. The spacious space is furnished with a simple layout. Light wood floors, a white fine wood desk and bookshelves, and a beige sofa create a warm atmosphere.
The sunlight shines through the window, making this world extremely warm.
Green stood at the door and knocked: "Prime Minister, I brought my friends from China."
He turned around and introduced the White Eagles, "This is Prime Minister Lucas Wilson. He is in charge of this reception."
The man behind the desk raised his head.
He was about fifty years old, well-maintained, with smooth skin and almost no visible wrinkles. Even his hair was abundant. His round face gave him a very approachable look, and his smile made him quite affable.
"Hello." Prime Minister Wilson stood up with a smile, walked towards the door, and waved, "Come in."
The White Eagles followed and walked inside.
Prime Minister Wilson walked up to Lu Tingxiao in two or three steps and extended his hand: "Welcome Captain Lu and your companions."
Lu Tingxiao extended his hand and shook it back. "Hello, Prime Minister Wilson. We're being rude by visiting without an appointment."
Wilson laughed and said, "Captain Lu is a man with a sense of humor. In this day and age, international communications are completely cut off. I won't blame you for coming here uninvited."
At the Prime Minister's invitation, Lu Tingxiao, Ling Shi and a few others sat down on the sofa, while the others gathered in a circle behind them.
Wilson sat on a side sofa, waiting for the waiter to pour tea. He said, "I heard from Green that you guys came here to discuss your research on dragon horns?"
Um?
Didn’t they say they are not allowed to carry the dragon horn?
Why did the Prime Minister bring it up himself?
Lu Tingxiao nodded: "It is indeed our mission here."
Wilson sighed heavily. "When we first acquired the Dragon Horn, everyone thought it was a revelry of human evolution. No one could have foreseen such an outcome. I've always been cautious, so I decided to conduct Dragon Horn research on an isolated island. By some strange coincidence, I actually saved Australia."
"I originally wanted to arrange for the researchers who had studied the dragon horn to meet with you. However, since the apocalypse, they are no longer proud of their research. Several important core personnel have emotional problems, some serious and some minor. If I insist on calling them here, I'm afraid..."
"It's okay." Lu Tingxiao said, "We're here to discuss things, so we naturally have to take your situation into consideration. Since it's inconvenient, we won't force you."
"Well," Wilson nodded. He thought for a moment and said, "Since you've come all this way here, why not spend a few days enjoying the scenery before leaving? The shopping malls and entertainment industries here are pretty much the same as they were before. I'm sure you haven't experienced them in a while."
Hearing this, Lu Tingxiao didn't say anything, but he could sense the excitement of the little bastards behind him. They were jostling and pushing each other, afraid that he would refuse them outright.
"Okay." Lu Tingxiao was about to agree. "Thank you very much, Prime Minister Wilson, for your kindness. I'll be inconvenienced for a few days."
Wilson waved to Green, who was standing nearby. "You already know each other, so why not just let you accompany them? I'll send someone to the airport. Remember to treat our Chinese friends well."
Green nodded happily. "Don't worry, Prime Minister. I'm pretty good at eating, drinking, and having fun."
