Chapter 118 Falling

Time passed, and in the blink of an eye it was time to harvest the wheat fields.

The villagers in the fields were harvesting their crops, but from time to time they would look towards Huo Jue's field.

Now only Huo Jue is harvesting.

When Wen Xia Nuan appeared in front of everyone with a basket in her hand, she looked very natural and was not afraid at all because of these things.

Everyone couldn't help but start whispering.

Wen Xia Nuan put down the basket she was carrying and her eyes fell on Huo Jue: "Huo Jue, come here and have a bowl of water."

Huo Jue put down the sickle in his hand, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and responded to Wen Xia Nuan.

When Huo Jue came out of the fields, his legs were covered in mud. Wen Xia Nuan handed him a handkerchief and said, "Wipe the sweat off."

Wen Xia Nuan spoke with concern. Huo Jue reached out to take it. He sat directly on the ridge of the field, his eyes falling on the woman: "A Nuan, I'm sorry to trouble you with this matter."

Wen Xia Nuan waved her hand and looked at Huo Jue with a smile, saying, "This matter isn't a big deal, Huo Zhiqing, you don't have to be so polite."

Her soothing voice echoed, and a smile flashed across Huo Jue's eyes. Looking at Wen Xia Nuan, he also spoke, "The harvest in geography is indeed much better now, just as you expected. Wen Zhiqing, I have to thank you very much for this."

Wen Xia Nuan was embarrassed by Huo Jue's words. She waved her hand and said, "Huo Jue, this matter has nothing to do with me. To put it bluntly, it's all your own hard work."

As she spoke, her eyes fell on Huo Jue: "I just helped a little with the research on the yield of this seed."

Huo Jue, however, only felt that Wen Xia Nuan was modest. He pursed his lips, tilted his head back and drank all the water in his hand.

Wen Xia Nuan looked at Huo Jue with a smile. Huo Jue handed the bowl to Wen Xia Nuan and said seriously, "Wen Zhiqing, thank you very much."

"This is your own hard work, it has nothing to do with me."

She waved her hand and looked at Huo Jue with a smile: "By the way, can you handle this by yourself? If not, why don't I help you?"

"Need not."

When Huo Jue heard this, he waved his hand without thinking: "A Nuan, I can handle this matter myself, you don't need to worry too much."

As the two of them talked, Wen Xia Nuan's eyes fell on Huo Jue: "You always say you can do it, but why do I feel like you're just showing off now?"

Huo Jue smiled. Wen Xia Nuan looked at him and couldn't help but say, "Huo Jue, I hope you can really solve it on your own instead of just trying to be tough all the time."

"If you really need anything, you can come and tell me. I'm not one of those powerless women. I can help you harvest the fields."

Huo Jue felt very satisfied with Wen Xia Nuan's words. "Ah Nuan, you've already helped me a lot. How can I ask you for more with these things?"

"Don't worry about me. I'm really not trying to be stubborn. I can handle these things on my own."

Wen Xia Nuan didn't insist any longer, put away the basket, and turned back.

"Huo Jue, you are so lucky to have a wife like Wen Zhiqing taking care of you. You must be so happy in your heart."

"Yes, Huo Jue, everything you have done now was really caused by you."

"These rice grains look different. Could it be that the yield has increased?"

The villagers were talking at once. Huo Jue, upon hearing this, also rubbed his hair in embarrassment. "Don't make fun of me now. I'm not as powerful as you say."

"Besides, the relationship between A Nuan and me is not what you think."

"That's why I say you're amazing. You solved these problems without saying a word."

The people around him were joking, and Huo Jue was hesitant. He couldn't argue with them, so he simply stopped talking.

After everyone remained silent towards Huo Jue, they naturally stopped talking.

"Huo Jue, we now have other ideas. If your family's production really increases, you can't hide it. You have to help us all!"

"That's right. You have to take the lead in this matter."

Everyone was talking at once, and Huo Jue could sense the different attitudes at the moment.

He knew better than anyone that if this matter was to be resolved, it would probably not be that simple.

Whether the yield is good or not depends on the harvesting results.

Huo Jue wiped the sweat from his forehead and continued to harvest rice.

Seeing this, everyone stopped arguing and quickly started working on their own tasks.

"Huo Jue, Huo Jue!"

Auntie Pang's anxious voice came, causing Huo Jue to quickly look over to her: "What's wrong, Auntie Pang? What happened?"

"Oh, Huo Jue, you should go back and take a look. Your grandma insisted on feeding the chickens and she fell down."

Huo Jue threw the sickle in his hand and quickly ran home.

As soon as I stepped into the house, Mrs. Huo's wailing began to sound.

Huo Jue's eyes fell on Old Madam Huo, his brows furrowed. "Grandma, where does it hurt? I'll take you over and take a look."

Old Mrs. Huo's eyes fell on Huo Jue, and her voice was full of embarrassment: "Huo Jue, my whole body is in pain. Why don't you take me to see a doctor now?"

After Mrs. Huo said this, Huo Jue carried his grandmother on his back and walked out without thinking.

He walked quickly, fearing to tire the old lady.

Old Mrs. Huo's voice was not much better, she kept shouting.

"Doctor, doctor!"

Huo Jue's voice was tense, and the village doctor hurried out: "What's wrong, Huo Jue?"

He quickly put his grandmother on the bed and said, "Hurry up and take a look at my grandmother. She just fell down and is in pain all over."

Old Mrs. Huo was also wailing. The doctor's eyes fell on the old lady and he quickly began to examine her carefully.

"Luckily, I found it early. Although I fell, I didn't break any bones. I'm just a little sore now. Huo Jue, don't worry, it's nothing serious."

When Huo Jue heard this, he asked with some concern, "Is it really not a big deal? Please don't try to fool me. My grandma doesn't look well to me."

"You're still worried about me doing things. Frankly, it's all due to her age. Her ability to tolerate pain has decreased, so she can't help but scream. It's really nothing serious, so there's no need to worry too much."
