When Huo Jue returned to the yard, he clearly sensed something was wrong.
Old Mrs. Huo was sitting in the front hall leaning on a cane. As soon as Huo Jue appeared in front of her, the old lady shouted, "Kneel down!"
Huo Jue paused, his eyes falling on the old lady and Huo Chen and Huo Xiao. He roughly understood what this group of people were going to do.
"Huo Jue, I make you kneel down!"
After a shout, Huo Jue remained motionless.
Old Mrs. Huo sneered: "Okay, okay, okay, what I said is of no use at all, right?"
She stood up and walked towards Huo Jue step by step with the support of Huo Xiao.
Huo Jue was already tired enough. When he saw his grandmother walking towards him, he stared at her indifferently and was about to speak, but the next second, the crutch cut through the gap and hit him directly!
Huo Jue couldn't dodge in time, and felt a dull pain in his shoulder. Huo Xiao's eyes narrowed fiercely: "Brother, why are you doing this?"
He frowned and looked at Huo Jue: "Why don't you just do what grandma says?"
Huo Jue glanced at Huo Xiao indifferently. He could clearly see Huo Xiao's gloating.
A chill ran down his spine, and Huo Jue's gaze fell on his grandmother. "Why?"
The old lady noticed the depression in his eyes. She naturally felt sorry for her grandson, but when she thought of Huo Jue's provocation and the way he wanted to kill her two grandsons, she was still angry in her heart.
"Huo Jue, did I ever say I forgave Huo Chen? You're pushing your brothers to death by insisting on getting to the bottom of this!"
The rain was still falling, drops falling on his body, but Huo Jue felt that the rain was more painful than the crutch hitting him.
"Brother, I told you long ago that if you were smarter, you wouldn't have ended up like this."
Huo Jue looked up at Huo Chen. Huo Chen was just making some sarcastic remarks, but Huo Jue sneered, "Impossible."
Huo Jue's voice came, and Huo Chen was startled. Anger rose in his eyes, but his gaze was looking towards the old lady.
Mrs. Huo's wrinkled face was expressionless, without a trace of distress: "Huo Jue, kneel down."
"When you figure it out, get up!"
Huo Xiao wanted to say something to persuade her, but the old lady dragged him straight home.
Huo Chen's eyes fell on Huo Jue. He sneered and walked out directly.
The rain was drizzling, and the strong wind was accompanied by heavy rain. Huo Jue knelt between the sky and the earth, but his heart was getting colder and colder.
He didn't know how much time had passed before he heard the gate creak open and the sound of footsteps. When Wen Xia Nuan saw Huo Jue kneeling in the rain, a look of disbelief flashed across his eyes: "Huo Jue?"
The umbrella above his head blocked the rain. Huo Jue looked at the woman beside him. It was Wen Xia Nuan.
Huo Jue twitched the corner of his mouth, but before he could utter a word, Wen Xia Nuan reached out and pulled him up: "Get up."
She tried her best to pull Huo Jue, but Huo Jue still knelt there without moving.
Wen Xia Nuan frowned, and Huo Jue smiled: "Wen Zhiqing, go back to your room first."
"No, have you forgotten what you promised me?"
Wen Xia Nuan's voice was tense. Looking at Huo Jue, she felt bad in her heart: "Was it your grandma who made you kneel again?"
Huo Jue kept his mouth shut and didn't speak.
Wen Xia Nuan was furious and anxious. She looked at Huo Jue angrily and said, "Huo Jue, are you going to piss me off to death before you're satisfied?"
She looked at Huo Jue with grievance. Huo Jue wanted to tell her not to be angry, but his breathing was tense and he felt his forehead burning hot. Before he could say anything, he leaned forward.
"Huo Jue!"
Wen Xia Nuan reached out and hugged his waist. Seeing Huo Jue fall into her arms, her eyes were full of disbelief.
Her whole body was tense and she called Huo Jue's name several times, but the man didn't respond at all.
Wen Xia Nuan took a deep breath and tried to help him up, but she didn't have enough strength and could only call for help.
Huo Xiao naturally heard Wen Xia Nuan's cry. He walked out slowly, and when his eyes fell on his eldest brother who was unconscious, his face changed: "Brother?"
Huo Jue was eventually brought back to his own room by Huo Xiao. Wen Xia Nuan ran out in a hurry and found the barefoot doctor in the village.
"Uncle Lin, how is my brother?"
Lin Liu's face turned ugly. "Your family is just making a fuss! Huo Jue got caught in the rain before, how can you punish him by making him kneel? Do you know how big of a mess this will cause?"
He took a deep breath, and seeing that Wen Xia Nuan's expression had improved slightly, he said, "Wen Zhiqing, although you have nothing to do with Huo Jue, there's no one in his family who can take care of him. Consider it a shameless gesture on my part, asking you to look after him for one night."
"If he still has a fever at night, feed him this prescription."
Wen Xia Nuan reached out and took the medicine bag he gave her, and looked at him and nodded hurriedly: "I understand, don't worry!"
She took a deep breath and said, "I promise I'll take care of it!"
He nodded and replied, "Okay, I'll be leaving first."
Huo Xiao left very quickly. Wen Xia Nuan's eyes fell on Huo Jue. Thinking of the doctor's instructions, she quickly took the towel and wiped Huo Jue's forehead.
The man in his sleep was not sleeping peacefully, with his brows furrowed as if he was confused.
Wen Xia Nuan saw it and couldn't help but feel sorry for him in her heart.
"Wen Zhiqing, I won't bother you with worrying about my grandson."
Old Mrs. Huo appeared at the door at some point. She stepped forward to take the towel from Wen Xia Nuan's hand, but was stopped by Wen Xia Nuan: "Old Mrs. Huo, you should go and rest."
"Don't bother with Huo Jue!"
Wen Xia Nuan knew that Huo Jue's situation was closely related to Old Madam Huo. She had a cold expression on her face. Old Madam Huo saw this and sneered, "I'm afraid it's not a good idea for you two, an unmarried man and a woman, to be together."
"Then you stay here."
Wen Xia Nuan spoke nonchalantly, her eyes sweeping over the old lady indifferently: "I don't care."
Old Mrs. Huo had no other choice. Since Wen Xia Nuan said so, she could only stay here. Looking at Wen Xia Nuan busying around, the old lady snorted and closed her eyes to rest.
Wen Xia Nuan also felt bad in her heart. She felt very uncomfortable with the old lady's harshness.
"Sometimes I wonder if Huo Jue is really your grandson. You're nice to Huo Xiao, but why should Huo Chen be so highly regarded? Has his family ever taken care of you? And why should Huo Jue support your family?"
