Chapter 168 Learning to Weave
When Maya came over with the loom, Lan Tai hugged the pillow and smiled so hard that his teeth were showing.
"What's going on?"
"nothing."
Taylor and Klein both tacitly put their bows and arrows behind their backs so that Maya wouldn't see them.
Maya saw that they looked mysterious and wanted to go forward to check.
The two of them stopped in unison. "Stand there, don't come over."
Maya looked at Ophelia in confusion, and Ophelia shrugged, indicating that she didn't know either.
Maya looked at the two of them strangely and waved her hand, asking the males to put the loom on the open space.
"Ophelia, what do you think this is?"
When Maya lifted the animal skin covering the loom, Ophelia's eyes immediately lit up.
"A loom! You actually got a loom."
Ophelia looked around the loom in amazement, occasionally moving it.
Lan Tai looked at the huge wooden object in front of him and his attention was immediately attracted to it.
"Chief, what is this?"
"This is a loom. The linen clothes I'm wearing are made of this." Ophelia pointed to the clothes on her body.
Lan Tai had observed the clothes on Ophelia a long time ago. These clothes were different from ordinary animal skins. They seemed to be made of plants.
He had always wondered how to make clothes out of plants, and today he saw the loom and realized it.
It turns out that this fabric is made by a machine, but what is the principle behind it?
Lantai looked at Ophelia with sparkling eyes. "Chief, can I study this loom?"
Ophelia's face immediately became serious when she saw him sharpening his knife like a pig or sheep.
"Can't."
"Chief, I promise not to break anything. Once I figure it out, I'll make you an identical loom."
Ophelia shook her head. "No, if only one loom is broken, it's gone."
Maya found it a little funny when she heard that Lan Tai wanted to repair the loom.
"Do you, male, know the origin of this loom? It's a product of the Holy City, the product of generations of research."
"You can imagine it just by looking at it for a few seconds. Don't overthink it. Go to bed early."
Seeing Ophelia and Maya say this, Lan Tai also understood the importance of the loom.
But he still didn't want to give up, and he looked at Ophelia hopefully.
"Then Chief, can I watch you while you use this loom?"
"I promise not to touch the loom, I'll just look at it."
Ophelia didn't want to expose Lantai's craftsmanship, so she said calmly, "Just make what you have first, and we'll work on the rest later."
Seeing hope, Lan Tai happily left with the crossbow.
"Ophelia, this is a male who can weave. The master sent it here specially."
"If you don't understand something, you can ask him."
Ophelia looked at the male in front of her with skin as black as coal. The male seemed to be born with dark skin and a thin body, and his hands were even more slender than hers, a female.
It is also obvious that calluses are left on the tips of the male's index finger and thumb.
"Okay, then please stay with the Fu Clan for a few days."
"Yes." Zeref had made the male swear an oath before he came.
After returning to the Holy City, I will never reveal what happened in Wanshou City.
Originally, Ophelia was thinking of learning weaving on her own, but she didn't expect Zeref to be so thoughtful and send a male weaver as well.
So under the guidance of the weaver and Ophelia's unremitting efforts, five days later Ophelia finally produced a piece of linen that was two meters long and three meters wide.
Although there are still some large gaps between the linen and the twine, it's already pretty good.
The male weaver held Ophelia's woven linen up to the sunlight and looked at it again and again, nodding with satisfaction.
"Ophelia, it's really impressive that you can knit like this in just a few days."
"Then can these linens be used to make clothes?"
"Yes, but if you make clothes you need to make them in layers to prevent them from getting torn easily."
"Okay, I understand."
Ophelia also knew that the linen she had woven was not enough for an adult male to wear.
So she made a few small bellybands for the three little dragons to wear.
When the little dragons transform into human form, their upper bodies are naked, with only a piece of animal skin around their waists.
With this bellyband, you no longer have to worry about the little dragon cubs getting cold in the belly.
After all, for Chinese people, the bottom line is that the quilt should cover the navel.
Wendy happily spun around in her little bellyband. "Mom, this dress is so pretty, and it's not too hot to wear."
"Yes, it's much cooler than animal skins." The second brother praised in a single ear.
The eldest, Cohen, tugged at his bellyband and said awkwardly, "Mother, I only need one piece of clothing. Give the rest to my younger brothers and sisters."
Seeing Cohen's sensible look, Ophelia's heart softened.
She patted Keen's little head and said softly, "Each of you has three. Even though you're the older brother, you don't have to give in to them."
"You are all equally important in my heart."
Hearing his mother say this, Cohen was moved and his eyes secretly turned red.
When his father was alive, he always used the fact that he was the older brother as an excuse to ask him to give in to his younger siblings.
He had formed a habit and didn't expect his mother to say that.
Ophelia didn't know what Zeref had done, and if she had known, she would have stopped him.
They are all having children for the first time, why should they be treated differently?
Why should older brothers give in to younger siblings?
After teaching Ophelia how to weave, the weaver male found Ophelia that day.
"Ophelia, you have already learned how to weave. From now on, as long as you become more proficient, you will be able to weave better cloth."
"If you want to make clothes by then, it won't be a problem. My mission has been completed, and I will set off back to the Holy City in the next two days."
Ophelia's mind turned when she heard that the weaving male would return to the holy city.
"Could you please come back two days later? I want you to bring something for me."
"sure."
When the weaver male came to the City of Beasts again and saw Maya's attitude towards Ophelia, he had some vague guesses in his mind.
The identity of this little female who can make Maya bow down to him and make the young master give her the power over the loom must be extraordinary.
It would be even better if you could make friends.
So for the next five days, Ophelia worked day and night to make linen.
Seeing Ophelia working so hard, Klein felt a little jealous.
"Are you going to give this fabric to Zeref?"
Ophelia did not hide it and admitted it immediately.
Klein held his breath and looked at Taylor, who was diligently serving tea and water.
"You just watched her toil away for Zeref."
Taylor's expression was calm, "Since Zeref can't be with the princess, it's understandable that the princess would do something for him."
Klein snorted coldly. "You're quite generous."
He strode out of the stone house, unwilling to see Ophelia working hard on making the linen.
Five days later, Ophelia finally wove a piece of linen that was 5 meters long and 3 meters wide.
Ophelia looked at the linen and thought it should be enough to make a set of clothes.
"Please take this cloth to Jiuying." Ophelia wrapped the linen in several layers of animal skin and handed it solemnly to the male weaver.
She didn't dare reveal her relationship with Zeref and could only mention Jiuying in a euphemistic way.
When the weaver male heard Ophelia say this, he wondered in his heart what the relationship between Ophelia and Jiuying was?
Jiuying is the most favored beast servant around the young master. If he speaks, the young master might really take out the loom.
