Chapter 176 The Crossbow Machine Has Initial Results

Chapter 176 The Crossbow Machine Has Initial Results

Jiuying walked out of the room carefully holding the sackcloth and ran into Sophie who came to find Zeref.

"Jiuying, what are you going to do?"

"The young master's clothes are old, I will make him a new one." Jiuying answered without missing a word.

Sophie glanced at the sackcloth on the tray and frowned.

Her slender fingers lifted the linen and examined it. "How can such low-quality linen be worthy of Zeref?"

"I have some blue linen at home. Go get it and make clothes for Zeref."

After saying that, Sophie crumpled up the sackcloth on the tray and threw it on the ground.

Seeing the dusty linen, Jiuying's face looked a little ugly.

He subconsciously looked at the room and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the door was closed.

He squatted down to pick up the sackcloth, but was stopped by Sophie.

"Why are you still picking it up?"

"This is the young master's instruction, I can't make any mistakes."

Sophie was a little angry when she saw that a piece of low-quality linen was more important than herself.

She raised her foot and stepped on the linen, then twisted it.

The linen, which was already sparse, was torn into a hole by her hard work.

Jiuying was so scared that he was sweating profusely.

The door of the room was opened and a tall figure walked out.

Sophie turned her head at the noise and saw it was Zeref.

A bright smile graced her lips. "Zeref, you're finally willing to see me."

Zeref had a sullen face as he passed Sophie. His silver eyes stared at the linen with a hole in it on the ground, his face as dark as ink.

"Who did it?"

Seeing how seriously Zeref was treating the sackcloth, Sophie stamped her foot and said angrily, "It's me."

"Zeref, am I not worth a piece of rag in your heart?"

Zeref squatted down and picked up the linen from the ground, his rough fingers stroking the torn hole in the fabric.

Sophie noticed the expression on Zeref's face and keenly sensed something strange.

"Who made this linen for you that makes you cherish it so much?"

Zeref pursed his lips and said nothing, then walked back to the room holding the sackcloth.

"Zeref, please speak up! Have you forgotten that I am your future partner?"

Sophie held onto Zeref's arm tightly, pinching his arm with her transparent nails.

Zeref lowered his eyes and shook off Sophie's hand with all his might.

He said coldly. "Get lost."

Sophie opened her eyes wide in disbelief. "Zeref, what did you say? You told me to get out?"

"That's right, from now on you are not allowed to set foot in my house again."

Jiuying was sweating profusely as he listened to this. He knew that if it weren't for Sophie's noble status, she would have been dead.

"Zeref, I hate you. I will never care about you again." Sophie bit her lip and ran away with red eyes.

After returning home, she buried herself in the bed and sobbed softly.

This scene happened to be seen by Brada who came to check, and Brada stepped forward anxiously.

"Sophie, what's wrong with you? Who bullied you?"

Sophie sat up and threw herself into Brada's arms. "It's Zeref."

"In his heart, I am no better than a piece of rag."

She choked up and recounted what happened today.

Brada's eyes darkened slightly. "Let me handle this matter, Sophie. I won't let you suffer in vain."

Brada comforted Sophie for a while and then went to the study to find Kaka, the beast servant.

Kaka: "Master, what do you want?"

Brada's fingertips tapped the tabletop, making a thumping sound. "Go check who's been sending things to Zeref lately."

"yes."

It only took Kaka two days to find out the whole story.

"You said that linen was sent from the City of Beasts?"

Brada frowned. "Why doesn't he remember that there are people in the City of Beasts who can weave?"

"Yes, Zeref sent a weaving male and a loom to Beast City some time ago."

"Who on earth is in the City of Beasts that he could actually deliver the precious juicer there?" Brada keenly caught a clue.

He looked up at the dark clouded sky outside the window. It seemed that he really needed to go to Wanshou City.

"What else did you find out?"

Kaka shook his head. "That's all we found. There are too many low-level tribes surrounding Wanshou City, and our people haven't uncovered any other useful information."

Brada waved her hand and said, "Go down."

On the other side, Zeref's mansion.

"Master, are the members of the Fire Phoenix Clan investigating matters concerning the Master?"

The master refers to Ophelia.

"Why are they investigating her?" Zeref's face changed drastically.

In order to prevent others from discovering his flaws, he never sent anyone to find out about Ophelia.

But why, despite being so vigilant, he was still discovered by the Fire Phoenix Clan?

"It should be that piece of linen..."

When talking about linen, Zerev's face turned a little cold. No matter how good the weaver he found these two days, he couldn't restore the linen.

Everyone said it needed to be torn down again to make it whole again.

But if it were to be dismantled again, it would no longer be made by Ophelia for him.

"Master, what should we do?" Jiuying asked.

Zeref frowned. "Don't move, or you'll be exposed."

"For the next two days, you and your men will keep a close eye on the Fire Phoenix Clan's situation and report any developments to me."

"yes."

The storm from the Holy City had not yet reached the City of Beasts, nor had it affected the Fu tribe.

Under the same sky, the Holy City was covered with dark clouds, while Bloze had a clear sky.

In order to test the cold weapons she made, Ophelia specially cleared out an area in the Fu tribe as a shooting range.

The shooting range is covered with animal skins and no outsiders are allowed to approach.

In the center of the shooting range, Lan Tai held a crossbow, narrowed his eyes, and shot at the wooden disc in front of him.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

There was the sound of arrow feathers breaking through the air, followed by three short arrows firmly embedded in the disc.

"It worked, it actually worked." Taylor was shocked.

Klein remained calm. He looked at Ophelia's back and was once again shocked by the novelty she had come up with.

If such a powerful weapon were equipped to every male, he would be invincible.

"Lan Tai, step back fifty steps." Fifty steps is fifty meters.

Lan Tai obediently retreated fifty steps, then loaded his arrow and shot again.

The arrow still hit the target, but the mark was not as deep as before.

Lan Tai also understood what Ophelia meant. He rubbed his head. "Chief, should I try again?"

"No."

The result is already obvious, the range of this crossbow is within 100 meters.

Beyond a hundred meters, the power will be greatly reduced and the speed will slow down, and any male with a little strength can be defeated.

Lan Tai was a little nervous when he saw Ophelia's serious expression. "Chief, did I do something wrong?"

"No, it's amazing that you can do this."

Ophelia knew that being able to make such a crossbow with the tools available in the current animal world was already amazing, and she couldn't be too demanding.

Klein picked up the crossbow and fired at the target. "The longer the distance, the less effective the crossbow will be."

"You need to focus on researching how to extend the range of the crossbow."

Klein keenly grasped the key point.

Ophelia glanced at Klein and was once again shocked by his intelligence.

Klein gave Ophelia a faint smile.

Taylor watched from the side, his eyes falling on the companion beast mark on Klein's shoulder.
