"Master, please accept me as your servant. I am willing to serve you like a slave. Please!" Zhao An knelt on the ground, her face covered in tears, her eyes full of pleading.
Sisi shook her head. "Father, Sisi doesn't need a servant. Father, please take her away."
Upon hearing this, Zhao An cried even more heartbreakingly, and she immediately hugged Sun Changjing's legs.
"My lord, please spare my life! Please, I beg you, have pity on me!"
Sun Changjing wasn't heartless after all. He sighed and said, "You can stay in the City Lord's Mansion as a little maid, but from today onwards, you are just a little maid, no longer Princess Zhao'an."
"Thank you, sir. Thank you, sir."
She was quickly taken away. Sun Changjing patted Sisi's head and said, "Go inside, it's hot outside."
"Time to go home."
The little guy blinked his big eyes and said, "Wait for Erguoguo and Wuguoguo to come home and help Mom dig up the peach tree roots."
"Okay, let's go home with them."
With her two older brothers around, Sun Changjing felt relieved. He needed to hurry up and deal with the remaining matters.
With Sun Changjing gone, only Sui Jin remained in the Southern Courtyard.
Sisi looked at him curiously, and he looked at Sisi in return, then walked towards her step by step.
Xie Yan instinctively pulled the person behind him, and Sui Jin stopped in his tracks, his eyes slightly sharp.
So that's who he was.
Is it really worth having four immortals descend to the mortal realm to help the princess get rid of such a tiny brat? That's far too much of a fuss.
"Princess, I have something to give you."
Sui Jin said this to Sisi.
Xie Yan frowned. "There is no princess here."
"You've mistaken me for someone else, haven't you? That princess has already become a servant." Zhou Erqian carefully examined him.
The Regent truly lives up to his title; his presence is unmatched by ordinary people. Just by standing there, he exudes an aura of power.
Sui Jin ignored them and only looked at Sisi. The little guy mischievously put his finger to his lips, signaling him not to speak.
"Yes, I admit I was wrong."
Sui Jin obediently turned and left.
Xie Yan and Zhou Erqian were completely bewildered.
They dug up the peach trees in the Zhou mansion all day but couldn't find a single root. The maids in the mansion were so exhausted that they were all listless.
When Sisi returned, Qin was holding her back and complaining, "It's so frustrating! The peach tree roots were clearly dead, but when we dug them up, they were still firmly gripping the ground. We couldn't dig them out at all. It's exhausting!"
"Just dig a little deeper." The old lady smiled and reached out to Sisi, "Grandma's sweet baby is back, come here and let Grandma hug you."
Sisi rushed over and rubbed against her affectionately, "Grandma smells like sunshine, so sweet."
"You only want Grandma?" Madam Qin said with a hint of jealousy. "You children are always running to the City Lord's Mansion. I don't think you consider the Zhou family your home anymore."
"Mother!" Sisi threw herself into her mother's arms again. "Mother, don't be angry. Sisi will hit those peach tree roots. They're the ones that made you angry. Sisi will spank their bottoms!"
"You silly girl, there's no butt on a peach tree root! You're just trying to make your mother happy." Madam Qin smiled from ear to ear. "Just stay with your mother for a while, you little rascal."
At this moment, Yu Qing was running into the pawnshop in a panic.
Good heavens! The emperor is going to be torn apart by five horses! He'd better get rid of all these things in the palace quickly, or he'll be in deep trouble.
The pawnshop owner immediately recognized him as soon as he took the item.
Unfortunately, his relative was from the city lord's mansion, so he got the news even faster than Yu Qing.
"Things from the palace? How could you have things from the palace? His Majesty executed everyone in the palace. Did you secretly escape?"
How did he know?
Yu Qing's face stiffened. "I'm not from the palace."
"Then you stole it." The shopkeeper glared. "Two men, take him to Guard Xu. How dare he steal from the palace."
"I didn't steal it!"
As she was being dragged out, Yu Qing panicked. "I didn't steal it! I really didn't steal it! Princess Zhao'an gave it to me! I really didn't steal anything, shopkeeper!"
The sound faded into the distance.
The shopkeeper spat, "The evidence is conclusive, yet you still try to argue? Bah!"
These things must be returned to His Majesty.
Sun Changjing handed over Sui Wenchang's matter to Xu Zhenzhen to handle.
He arrived at the main hall, where Sui Jin was sitting and drinking tea.
"Your Majesty, I am Sun Changjing, the city lord of Wuzhou. Long live Your Majesty!"
"Get up."
Sui Jin put down his cup. "Sui Wenchang is dead, and there is no one left in the capital. The city gates are now closed, and the people of Qingyuan have suffered heavy losses in this war. Does Lord Sun have any good suggestions?"
"this…"
Sun Changjing did not understand what he meant.
"I will not be leaving Wuzhou for the time being. There is no one in the capital. Lord Sun should help me recruit talented people."
After pondering for a long time, Sui Jin said, "Go and prepare some things. I need to draft an imperial edict."
Sun Changjing replied respectfully, "Yes."
Soon, Sun Changjing had simple brocade made.
"Come with me to the Zhou residence first."
Sui Jin looked at the blank brocade, knowing that he could eliminate the Demon King by himself.
Since the princess is descending to the mortal realm to undergo tribulations, he should pave the way for her.
Sun Changjing personally drove the carriage for Sui Jin, and the Zhou family members, upon receiving the news, all put down their work and knelt at the gate of the Zhou residence.
"Greetings, Your Majesty! Long live the Emperor!"
Sui Jin lifted the carriage curtain and saw the princess kneeling as well, which startled him so much that he almost fell over.
"Get up quickly."
If he didn't get up, he was really afraid that the Dragon King would strike him on the head with a bolt of lightning.
The Zhou family members gathered in large numbers.
