Chapter One: The Little Dragon Arrives!

The thirty-seventh year of the Qingyuan Dynasty.

The land was suffering from a severe drought, and the people were destitute.

A piercing cry shattered the tranquility of Peach Blossom Village.

"Don't burn it! Sisi didn't have smallpox, she's not dead! You're all talking nonsense!"

A group of people, each holding a torch, stormed into the courtyard of the Zhou family.

Qin was strangled to the ground with a stick and cried until she almost fainted.

"She had a rash all over her body, and a high fever that caused her to burn herself to death. What else could this be but smallpox? Smallpox is so contagious. If you didn't burn her, were you trying to kill the whole village?!"

The village chief snorted coldly and waved his hand, "Men, burn it! Burn it now!"

"You can't burn her! My family has been waiting for this little girl for years. If you burn her to death, how are we supposed to live?" The old woman desperately blocked the doorway.

"Mother, please don't stop me! I saw with my own eyes that Si'er's body was covered in red rashes and she wouldn't move at all. If we don't get rid of her, the plague will spread and we'll all die!"

The woman standing next to the village chief, fanning the flames, had a face full of moles and pretended to be sad, shedding tears. "Si'er saved us all, and we will all remember her kindness."

The old lady spat at her fiercely, "Pah! Liu, you blind bastard! You're Sisi's aunt, yet you can say such vicious things. Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning!"

Liu scoffed. She wasn't afraid at all. Everyone knew that Qingyuan Dynasty had suffered a severe drought for ten years and hadn't heard a single thunderclap.

She refused to believe that burning Sisi, that silly girl, would actually bring down a lightning bolt from the heavens!

"Village chief, we can't waste any more time, I can smell the stench of decay!" Liu muttered beside the village chief, pretending to cover her nose.

The stench of decay is coming out; this is unacceptable!

The village chief's face immediately darkened. "Throw the torch over there!"

Whoosh whoosh!

Several torches were thrown onto the roof, and the house instantly burst into flames, the raging fire reflecting the indifference on everyone's faces.

"Sisi—!" Qin struggled and cried out in a shrill, desperate voice.

The old lady rushed into the house, her eyes wet with tears, and shouted, "Don't be afraid, Si'er, Grandma will get you out of here!"

Liu laughed gleefully. This old woman has really lost her mind. Si'er is already dead, and the fire is so big. She wouldn't survive if she rushed in. She's so stupid!

Just as she was feeling smug, the sky suddenly darkened. It was clearly noon, but the sky was so dark that you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.

Liu shuddered and felt a chill run down her spine.

She hid behind the village chief in fear, "Village chief, what's going on? Has that silly girl Sisi turned into a monster?"

The village chief panicked; he had never seen anything like this before.

"Hahahaha." Qin Shi, who was being held down, burst into laughter. "Heaven has eyes! It must be that you have angered Heaven with your many evil deeds. Just wait and see, wait to be punished by Heaven!"

"Madman!" Liu spat. "If anyone should be punished, it should be you. Your fool has brought the plague and harmed people; he should have been punished long ago..."

Achoo!

Suddenly, a soft, sweet sneeze interrupted her.

Immediately afterwards, lightning flashed and thunder roared, and a bolt of lightning struck straight down, hitting Liu.

Her wide eyes hadn't even closed yet, as if she couldn't believe she'd been so easily killed.

The village chief was so close that he wet himself in fear, sat trembling on the ground, and turned pale.

This sudden turn of events terrified everyone, causing them to kneel down in fear.

"Liu is dead! Heaven is angry!"

"She must have been lying and trying to harm the Zhou family girl. Heaven couldn't stand it and struck her down."

"The fire is still burning! Help put it out!"

Someone shouted that there was no water source, so everyone could only throw dirt and sand onto the roof, but it was to no avail.

The fire grew even bigger.

"ah--!"

Several screams rang out at that moment.

The village chief looked over in horror and saw that the men who had thrown the torches were inexplicably on fire, and no matter how much they threw a tantrum, the fire wouldn't go out.

Painful screams could not be heard.

Terrified, everyone knelt on the ground and kowtowed repeatedly, pleading, "God, we know we were wrong, please forgive us, we will never do it again, we will never do it again!"

"It's all Liu's nonsense, it's all Liu's fault, God, please forgive us!"

The sounds of pleas for mercy came in waves outside.

Inside the room, the fire raged fiercely, yet the animals seemed afraid, daring not to approach the small bed.

"It's so noisy!"

Long Sisi rubbed her little nose, mumbled something in a soft, sweet voice, and slowly opened her eyes, her long eyelashes fluttering like petals waiting to bloom.

"Huh~"

"It's so shabby!"

Looking at the dilapidated houses around her, Long Sisi pouted in dissatisfaction. Was she, the only princess of the Dragon Clan, going to experience tribulation in this run-down house in this lifetime?

"Sisi, Sisi, don't be afraid, Grandma is here to save Sisi!"

Just then, a weak voice entered her ears, and Long Sisi blinked her big eyes and looked over.

Amidst the thick smoke, the old woman was choked and bent over, repeatedly calling out "Sisi" with a look of anxiety on her face.

Long Sisi quickly received the original body's memories and realized that the old lady in front of her was her grandmother.

Grandma came to save her; the fire was burning her so badly.

Long Sisi immediately got angry, waving her little fist and saying in a crisp voice, "That wretched fire, put it out quickly, don't hurt Sisi's grandma!"

The dragon cub is angry!

Suddenly, lightning flashed and thunder roared outside, the wind howled, and a torrential downpour extinguished the raging fire in the blink of an eye.

The old lady rushed over and, seeing Long Sisi blinking her big eyes, immediately burst into tears, crying, "My baby, you're alive! You're alive! Thank God!"

The fire was extinguished, and the heavy rain stopped.

The rain brought a mix of joy and sorrow to everyone.

The only rain in Peach Blossom Village in ten years fell just when they were about to burn a child to death.

"What a terrible thing!"

"Even God couldn't stand it anymore, they're heartless!"

The men holding Qin Shi off the sticks released her, and she knelt on the ground, kowtowing repeatedly. Freed from her restraints, Qin Shi burst into maniacal laughter.

"Hahahaha, retribution! You killed my daughter, this is your retribution! God is watching you from heaven, watching you suffer a terrible death!"

Boom—!

The curse, accompanied by thunder, made Qin's face even more eerie.

"She's insane! She's insane!"

The crowd screamed and scattered in all directions.

With a death wish, Qin rushed toward the village chief. If Liu died, he had to die too!

"No, I was wrong, I was wrong, please forgive me!" The village chief writhed on the ground in fear, his urine and mud mixed together, making him look extremely disgusting.

"Mother~"

This sound was like a vine pulling Qin Shi back from her madness.

"Sisi...?"

She turned her head in a daze, her eyes instantly welling up with tears.

The little girl was held in the old lady's arms, her bright black eyes looking at her, without a trace of naivety in her pupils.

The old lady's hair was burned off, but she was completely unharmed, and her fair and tender face was not covered in any ash.

Not only did her little girl not die, but she can now call her mother?
