Chapter 349 Ji Xingzhi is injured

Ji Xingzhi blocked Xie Jingnian's dagger with his bare hands without even thinking. Although Ji Xingzhi was careful with his movements, the dagger still cut through his palm. The wound was not deep, but not shallow either. Blood stained the dagger red and flowed all over the floor.

Seeing this, Xie Jingnian's eyes suddenly widened, and he looked at Ji Xingzhi in disbelief. Assassinating the emperor would mean death anyway. He had originally just wanted to make a last-ditch effort, but he hadn't expected to actually hurt the emperor. "Why?"

Xie Jingnian really didn't understand. Ji Xingzhi could have clearly avoided it, so why didn't she hide?

Ji Xingzhi raised his right hand and snatched the dagger from Xie Jingnian's hand, then dropped it to the ground and said calmly, "I owe you."

Before Xie Jingnian could react, Wu Fang rushed over with his guards. Seeing Ji Xingzhi's hand bleeding, Wu Fang quickly took out a handkerchief from his chest and wrapped it around Ji Xingzhi to stop the bleeding.

Wu Fang, who was worried about Ji Xingzhi's injury, did not notice that when he took out the handkerchief, Ji Xingzhi frowned and a meaningful smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

"Your Majesty, is there any other injury?" Wu Fang asked worriedly.

Ji Xingzhi shook his head and said, "I'm fine."

Upon hearing this, Wu Fang's face darkened. If it weren't for his status, he really wanted to point at Ji Xingzhi's head and curse at her!

Nothing? You're fine like that? Normally, if I hurt a finger, I'd feel like I'd collapse. But now, the palm of my hand and four fingers are all injured, and the wounds are so deep, and yet, you're fine!

Unable to vent his anger on Ji Xingzhi, Wu Fang suddenly turned around, glared at Xie Jingnian, and said in a cold voice: "How dare you stab the emperor? Take him away and be executed by slow slicing!"

When Ji Xingzhi heard this, his brows suddenly tightened: "Slow down!"

After a pause, Ji Xingzhi continued, "Wu Fang, let him out of the palace."

Not only Wu Fang, but also the guards and Xie Jingnian himself were stunned. The emperor actually wanted them to release the person?

"But..." Wu Fang was dissatisfied. Before he could finish his words, Ji Xingzhi gave him a cold look. Wu Fang had no choice but to calm down and reluctantly waved to the guards: "Throw him out of the palace."

"Yes." Several guards escorted Xie Jingnian towards Beigong.

Wu Fang asked a guard to send someone to clean up the bloodstains, and then ordered someone to call the imperial physician, and sent everyone else back.

Ji Xingzhi had a stiff face as she hurried back to the bedroom with Wu Fang. On the way, the palace maids, eunuchs, and guards all turned pale with fright when they saw Ji Xingzhi's bleeding hand.

As soon as she returned to the bedroom and the door closed, Ji Xingzhi's expression changed immediately. Her eyes were red and she gritted her teeth and said, "It hurts so much!"

I really regret it!

Wu Fang: “…”

The news of Ji Xingzhi's injury quickly spread throughout the palace. Shui Lianche even came to visit him in person. He smiled warmly and spoke in a familiar manner.

"I heard that Emperor Li let the assassin go. He is truly merciful." Shui Lianche said with a smile as he sat opposite Ji Xingzhi.

Ji Xingzhi glanced at Shui Lianche nonchalantly and said, "Let's be merciful when we can. Besides, my injuries are not serious."

Shui Lianche smiled and said, "I have something to ask, but I'm not sure if I should ask you."

Ji Xingzhi picked up the teacup with his uninjured hand and said bluntly, "Don't ask."

Shui Lianche didn't care about this at all, and even laughed at Ji Xingzhi for being humorous. Then he said something that almost made Ji Xingzhi spit out blood.

"There is no concubine in the Lizhou harem. Does Emperor Li have any hidden illness?" Shui Lianche asked.

When Ji Xingzhi heard this, he didn't spit out blood, but all the tea in his mouth came out.

Fortunately, Shui Lianche dodged in time and the spray only got on his clothes, otherwise it would have all been on his face.
