Chapter 33 "I'll coax you until... you forgive me."
Song Shiyi bit her lip, her heart also conflicted.
A few seconds later, the two turned their heads at the same time.
"sorry."
"sorry."
Both of them were startled at the same time.
He Jinzhao curled his lips into a smile. "Why are you apologizing?"
Song Shiyi seemed a little embarrassed, and she pursed her lips as she explained:
I startled you by suddenly turning around.
And they've made the atmosphere so awkward.
A hint of annoyance flashed in her eyes, her delicate brows furrowed, and she looked sullen.
He Jinzhao stared at her earnest explanation and suddenly chuckled a few times, resting his chin on his hand.
How can someone be so cute?
The strange atmosphere gradually dissipated, and things returned to normal.
He Jinzhao's eyebrows and eyes relaxed, and he looked extremely happy.
"It has nothing to do with you, it's my problem."
He paused, his tone somewhat subtle.
"It was my fault for not controlling the distance well."
Song Shiyi clearly remembered the scene from earlier and lowered his head in silence.
After a few seconds of silence, a boy's smiling voice suddenly rang in my ears.
"That--"
But after saying that one word, there was no follow-up for a long time.
Song Shiyi looked up, puzzled.
Are you still angry?
Song Shiyi was speechless for a moment.
Having just gone through such an embarrassing situation, she had no energy left to be angry.
I've already gotten over it.
But seeing He Jinzhao waiting earnestly for her answer, her eyes darted around, and she deliberately asked:
"What if I said I'd get angry?"
He Jinzhao replied almost without thinking, "Of course I'm just trying to coax you."
Song Shiyi was taken aback, seemingly not expecting this answer.
Before she could react, the boy in front of her continued, "I'll coax you until... you forgive me."
Song Shiyi stared at him blankly. His eyes still held a smile, as if he were being irreverent, yet also as if they carried boundless longing.
His gaze was direct and frank.
The sight seemed familiar, making her unable to meet his gaze.
Her eyelashes trembled slightly, and her heart skipped a beat.
She suppressed the strange feeling in her heart and hurriedly lowered her eyes.
"So, can you stop being angry now?"
"It's said online that girls who are too temperamental are more prone to illness."
He Jinzhao raised his hand and stroked the slightly messy strands of hair by her ear. His lazy voice, tinged with a bit of hoarseness, still had that nonchalant tone, yet it carried an indescribable allure.
"We are all destined to live to be a hundred years old."
Song Shiyi slowly raised her eyes and nodded somewhat awkwardly.
She just had a sudden whim and wanted to tease him.
I never expected He Jinzhao to say these things.
That's absolutely criminal.
He Jinzhao chuckled softly and said nothing more.
Like boiling a frog in lukewarm water.
We must proceed step by step, not rashly.
If he scares someone away, where will he go to cry?
After talking about so many unimportant things, it's time to get back to business.
Do you have the sheet music?
The topic changed so quickly that Song Shiyi didn't react immediately. After a couple of seconds of stunned silence, she nodded and took out the sheet music she always carried with her to give it to him.
He Jinzhao flipped through it and nodded casually, "Okay, I'll familiarize myself with it first."
“You sit here.”
"Brother will play the piano for you."
Upon hearing this familiar address, Song Shiyi glanced at him but said nothing.
Whose older brother is like his?
He Jinzhao naturally had his own clever ideas.
Previously, it was to get closer to Song Shiyi.
They hadn't seen each other for two years, so it was natural for them to feel a little awkward when they met again.
Once Song Shiyi became familiar with his presence, he intentionally or unintentionally reduced the use of that title.
After all, who wants to be her brother?
Now, it's just his little trick.
"Brother" sounds so ambiguous.
When He Jinzhao gets down to business, he's completely different from his usual carefree self.
He sat sideways on the piano bench, his back instinctively straightening up, no longer in the casual posture of leaning against the back of the chair.
Her bangs, which had been slightly drooping, were parted a little by her hand, revealing her smooth forehead. The carefree attitude between her brows and eyes was gone, leaving only her handsome features shining in the sunlight streaming in from the window.
His long, slender, fair hands rested on the edge of the black and white piano keys, his knuckles gently touching the keys. His eyes held a youthful focus, and the lines of his profile, framed by the piano, softened even his jawline.
He paused for two seconds before putting his fingers down, his eyelids slightly lowered, his gaze fixed on the piano keys, lost in thought.
Actually, I only started learning the piano because of Song Shiyi.
He and Shen Yanci have such a good relationship, he must have been to his house.
Song Shiyi and Shen Yanci lived very close to each other, separated by only two villas.
He Jinzhao remembered that the three of them were studying in the Shen family's living room. He was explaining a problem to Song Shiyi when her gaze suddenly fell on the piano in the center of the living room, looking somewhat puzzled.
Shen Yanci noticed her gaze, knew what she was thinking, and explained with a smile, "Just bought it."
Song Shiyi nodded and focused her attention on the exercises.
The next second, a boy's doting, smiling voice came from beside her.
"Do you want to hear it? It hasn't been recorded yet."
Song Shiyi's eyes immediately lit up, and he nodded heavily.
Shen Yanci patted her head, walked to the grand piano, and slowly sat down.
The boy had delicate features and a slender figure, and beautiful melodies flowed from his fingertips.
Song Shiyi cupped her face in her hands and looked at him with a smile, her gaze focused and captivating.
He Jinzhao remained silent, not uttering a single word, his gaze slowly shifting from the girl's youthful and lively profile to Shen Yanci, who was not far away.
He pursed his lips, and an idea began to sprout wildly in his mind.
He also hoped that one day, Song Shiyi's gaze would linger on him.
Now, he has finally gotten what he's been waiting for.
He Jinzhao closed his eyes, clearing his mixed emotions. The next second, his fingers moved slightly, and a clear, melodious piano sound filled the room.
As the piano keys struck their melody, Song Shiyi's heart suddenly began to pound rapidly.
Okay, so dazzling.
Her gaze was fixed on He Jinzhao, unable to look away, from his nimble fingertips to the stray hairs that fell onto the piano keys when he lowered his eyes, and then to the way he swayed his shoulders gently to the melody.
He Jinzhao is like that; he can draw all the light around him into himself with whatever he does, without even realizing it.
Song Shiyi instinctively covered her chest, a strange heat spreading from her palm to her limbs, even her fingertips trembled.
What's wrong with her?
When the song ended, He Jinzhao paused for two seconds, and as he withdrew his hand, he turned to look at Song Shiyi, returning to his previous lazy and nonchalant demeanor.
"How was it? Did I embarrass you?"
As he said this, He Jinzhao raised his chin arrogantly, his brows full of confidence and arrogance.
For some reason, Song Shiyi always felt that he smelled a bit of a fart on him.
Song Shiyi unconsciously raised the corners of his mouth, gave a thumbs-up, and praised without reservation:
"It sounds amazing!"
She pondered for two seconds and remembered something Si Yue had said before, which seemed quite fitting here.
"It will absolutely amaze the entire audience!"
He Jinzhao was a little embarrassed by the praise. He coughed lightly twice, his eyes full of smiles, and said calmly, "Keep it down."
Looking at Song Shiyi's smiling face, he teased, "You're not just trying to make me happy, are you?"
