Chapter 151 Extra Chapter: Lin Yue (1)
Time: 8:00 AM, October 8th.
The first day after the National Day holiday.
Location: Building 2, North Campus of Peking University, downstairs from the male dormitory apartment building.
The character is Si Yue, whose face is filled with vicissitudes and resentment.
She was carrying breakfast for Xie Lin and squatting on the lawn, frantically making phone calls to someone.
"Hello, the number you dialed is temporarily unavailable..."
Hearing the familiar electronic voice again, Si Yue took a deep breath and dialed again expressionlessly.
Xie Lin, you son of a bitch!!!
Last night I made a special effort to make sure she didn't forget our promise.
She's downstairs enjoying the cold wind, while this dog is sleeping in bed.
That's fine.
They still aren't answering the phone.
Depend on!
She listened to the busy tone on the other end of the phone and gave a cold laugh.
If he doesn't answer this time, she'll eat his breakfast and then leave.
Damn it, I quit.
As for the previously mentioned plan to pursue him, that's off the table.
Whether Xie Lin heard her thoughts or not, the call finally went through.
A weary voice came from the other end, sounding like someone had just woken up.
"……Hello?"
The overflowing words carried a lingering languor, and the low, magnetic voice, slightly hoarse, casually brushed past her ear.
Perhaps because he was holding the phone so close, the sound was exceptionally clear to Si Yue's ears.
However, she was not in the mood to appreciate it at the moment.
She gritted her teeth and said, "Xie Lin! Are you a pig?"
"Look how many times I've called you!"
"It's freezing outside. Hurry up and come down and get me breakfast. I need to go back to my dorm after that."
Xie Lin was stunned for two seconds after hearing what she said, then took the phone from his ear and looked at it, frowning as he asked, "Why are you here so early?"
"Didn't I tell you to sleep in and come later?"
He stood up as he spoke, his mind already clear.
Si Yue pouted: "Lunch will be later, so stop talking nonsense and come downstairs. I'll wait for you downstairs. Bye."
Xie Lin dressed as quickly as possible, washed up, and rushed downstairs.
Si Yue squatted on the ground, idly playing with her phone. The classmates passing by gave her strange looks, but she didn't pay much attention.
Si Yue was thick-skinned and didn't care about their gazes at all.
A few minutes later, she heard footsteps in front of her, which stopped right in front of her, and she heard a familiar voice.
"Why are you squatting here? Aren't your legs numb?"
Si Yue impatiently put away her phone, about to retort.
His gaze shifted upwards, then paused.
The wind in early October already carried a hint of crisp coolness, swirling the golden and red leaves of the sycamore trees along the roadside, gently brushing against the man's ankles.
He wore a light gray, thin knitted cardigan with the collar loosely draped over his shoulders, revealing a matching shirt collar underneath. Two buttons were undone, making his neck appear even longer and cleaner.
The cuffs were casually rolled up to the forearms, revealing a section of pale wrist bone with a refined and beautiful bone structure.
His brow bone was perfectly proportioned, not sharp, but it carried a sense of aloofness.
Her eyes droop slightly at the corners, and her pupils are a deep, dark shade that is neither too intense nor too faint, yet they exude an innate nobility.
A high, straight nose, light-colored lips, and a clear, defined lip line.
He stood there, looking down at her squatting on the ground, his languid expression carrying a noble air that was both aloof and captivating.
The surrounding voices seemed to be broken up by the wind, the rustling of falling leaves was exceptionally clear, and even the dry air seemed to have a touch of elegant tranquility because of his presence.
The air was still for a few seconds.
Si Yue suddenly snapped out of her daze, coughed lightly, and looked away awkwardly, saying, "It's your fault for not answering the phone. I'm tired of standing here."
The tips of her ears were tinged with red, whether from the wind or something else, it was hard to tell.
She was a little depressed.
This person just woke up, how come their face isn't puffy at all?
And somehow he looks even more handsome than yesterday.
Beauty can be a dangerous thing.
She almost saw it.
Xie Lin didn't miss her momentary daze. A smile subtly crept into his eyes, and he smiled slightly. "Sorry, I usually mute my phone."
"I told you yesterday that I thought you wouldn't arrive until nine o'clock."
He bent down slightly, placed his hand in front of her, and said gently, "Get up first."
Si Yue said "Oh," and after hearing his explanation, her anger subsided considerably.
Come to think of it, it's because I arrived early.
Xie Lin cannot be entirely blamed.
Without much hesitation, she placed her hand in his palm and used his strength to get up.
The next second, everything went black.
Si Yue: "..."
I got up early, didn't eat breakfast, and got up really fast.
It's obvious that I have low blood sugar.
Not only that, her legs felt a little numb from squatting for so long.
I'm impressed.
The debuff is fully stacked.
Sure enough, Xie Lin was her nemesis.
As she fell backward, before she could find a foothold, a strong and firm arm wrapped around her waist and supported her steadily.
At the same time, the crisp scent of pine resin wafted into her nose; it was faint and quite pleasant.
Are you alright?
His usually calm tone shifted, revealing a hint of barely perceptible worry.
Si Yue opened her eyes and saw his warm chest in front of her. She leaned against him, listening to his steady and strong heartbeat.
The strong scent of male hormones enveloped her, making her feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Too close.
Aside from training with her dad's students at the boxing gym, she had never been this close to any boy before.
For some reason, she felt a little nervous.
As the dizziness subsided, she steadied herself, took a step back, and distanced herself from him.
"It's nothing, thanks."
The warm, soft body disappeared from his hands. Xie Lin rubbed his fingertips, lowered his eyes, and remained silent with his lips pursed.
Then, he lifted his eyelids to look at her and saw that her complexion was not good. He frowned and said, "Are you anemic?"
Si Yue waved her hand and handed him the breakfast: "No, I guess I stayed up too late last night and my blood sugar dropped a bit from squatting for so long."
Xie Lin took it and casually asked, "What time did you go to sleep?"
"I'm not asleep."
Xie Lin paused, his expression turning somewhat wooden.
"What did you say?"
"You mean you stayed up all night?"
Si Yue let out an "Ah," yawned, and her eyes welled up with tears. She replied nonchalantly, "Yeah, I lost track of time while playing games. By the time I realized it, it was already dawn."
Xie Lin sneered.
Si Yue gave him a strange look: "What's with that expression?"
Xie Lin replied expressionlessly, "Oh, it's nothing."
