Chapter 125 New Year’s Wish?

Niu Jiashi and Niu Li went to Lu's house and cursed outside, asking Lu Qingyan to come out and confront them.

However, no matter how they cursed outside, the Lu family did not open the door and no one came out to pay attention to them. It was obvious that they wanted to force them to leave in this way.

"It's so cold outside, who has time to argue with them?" Lu's mother asked, "Aren't you comfortable staying home, warming yourself by the fire?"

Father Lu said, "That's right. Let them make a fuss. When they have had enough and no one cares, they will leave on their own."

Lu Qingyan sat there warming herself by the fire, not saying a word.

Sure enough, not long after, because it was too cold outside and the Lu family refused to open the door even though they were scolding them, Niu Jiashi and Niu Li had no choice but to leave. If they didn't leave, they would be frozen to death outside.

"Damn Lu Qingyan!" Niu Li cursed as she went back. "She'd better not come back. I'll divorce her! It's really unlucky to have a woman like this as our Niu family's daughter-in-law!"

When she returned home and saw the few remaining supplies, she became even more furious!

The supplies they had exchanged for Yang'er were originally enough to get them through this cold winter, but now...

What a huge loss!

Moreover, that day, they were beaten by the Cai family!

The more I think about it, the angrier I get!

The Cai family naturally didn't know about the conflict between the Niu and Lu families.

Because it was cold outside, they stayed at home and warmed themselves by the fire every day.

Cai Junze took Yang'er with him while reading "The Analects of Confucius" and reading it to Yang'er.

Yang'er would sometimes read a few sentences along.

Cai Junze: "The Master said: 'Don't worry about not having a position, worry about how you stand. Don't worry about not being understood, seek to be understood.'"

Yang'er: "The Master said..."

Cai Junze: "Don't worry about not having a position."

Yang Er: "Don't worry about not having a position."

Cai Junze: "The trouble is the reason for standing up."

Yang Er: "The trouble is the reason for standing up."

It’s too long, Yang’er can’t remember it.

Therefore, Cai Junze could only read a few words at a time.

In this way, Yang'er can read along.

Of course, Cai Junze had no intention of teaching him to read. He just held the book and read it himself. Yang'er would follow him and read a few sentences from time to time, and then he would teach him to read.

The father and son read books together to kill time.

After all, the weather was too cold and there was nothing fun to do except staying by the fire.

Reading is the best pastime.

Watching Yang'er and Cai Junze studying, Liu Shulin felt relieved.

The fact that he is willing to read along shows that he is still interested in this area.

Otherwise, no matter how his father read it, he probably wouldn't follow.

Time passes day by day.

The Chinese New Year is coming soon.

The temperature is finally showing signs of rising.

Even so, it's still cold.

As New Year's Eve approached, Cai Junze held the sleeping Yang'er in his arms and said to his mother, "Mom, you said you would bring Yang'er back before the end of the year, and Yang'er is really back! This year, Yang'er can celebrate the New Year with us!"

Liu Shulin said, "Since I said it, I will naturally do it. Yang'er is your son and my grandson. Of course, I look forward to his return every day so that he can live with us. Now it has finally come true."

I really have to thank this heavy snow and this cold winter!

Otherwise, she had no good way to get Yang'er back within this year.

In a blink of an eye, it’s New Year’s Eve.

Fortunately, I have stockpiled a lot of things at home.

This New Year’s Eve, there is a table full of delicious food and the whole house is full of joy.

Compared with previous years, this New Year's Eve is special in that it is both exceptionally cold and exceptionally warm.

The coldness is due to the weather, and the warmth is due to the sun, which makes people feel inexplicably warm in their hearts.

"Tomorrow is the new year. Time flies so fast." Liu Shulin sighed.

"Yes, the years go by like flowing water." Liu Shuting couldn't help but sigh.

Cai Junze said, "This cold spell should be coming to an end soon, right? These past few days, it feels like each day is getting warmer than the day before, and it's not as cold anymore."

Liu Shulin said, "It will be soon, but it will still be cold for a while before it returns to normal."

She also forgot when exactly this winter stopped being cold.

Yang'er lived a very happy life in the Cai family. He had fire to roast, delicious food to eat, and his father, grandmother, and uncle were by his side. He didn't miss his life in the Niu family at all.

Except for occasionally asking "Where is Mom?" or "I haven't seen Mom for a long time"... most of the time, he is happy.

I miss my mother only rarely.

Liu Shulin and the others didn't take the initiative to talk to him about his mother. If he asked, they would just give a perfunctory answer and find other things to divert his attention.

"Yang'er, tomorrow is New Year's Day. What is your wish?" Liu Shulin asked him with a smile.

"What is a wish?" This was the first time Yang'er heard the word wish.

Apparently, he had never been asked that question.

"Well, a wish is something you want." Liu Shulin explained simply.

"What do I want..." Yang'er rolled his eyes, thinking and thinking, and said in a childish voice, "What I want is that Daddy, Grandma, Uncle, and Mom can always be by my side, and then, I can have delicious food to eat every day, sleep well, not get cold, and then, have fun things to play with..."

"Anything else?" Liu Shulin asked when she saw him pause.

He shook his head. "I'll tell you when I remember."

Liu Shulin smiled and said, "Okay, I'll tell you when you remember it."

"That's right!" Yang'er's eyes flashed, as if he remembered something, and looked at his father, "Daddy, my eldest cousin and second cousin scolded me for not having a father, saying I was a little bastard. When you have time, you have to accompany me to grandma's house and let them see that I do have a father, and I'm not a little bastard."
