Chapter 17 Dark Horse

Chinese score is 133, English, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology are all full marks, with a total score of 733. If this score is put in the college entrance examination, it is basically the rhythm of the provincial top scorer in science!

If the Chinese language score can be improved further, it will be possible to break the college entrance examination record!

"Wu Tong, Class 7, Grade 2, Old Chen is a student in your class!"

"Where did this dark horse come from?" He got full marks in all six science subjects except Chinese. Such results were simply dazzling. They couldn't believe that their school with its meager resources could produce such an excellent and strong student!

Suddenly, all the teachers were envious, but also conflicted about whether they should congratulate or not.

The school year had just begun, and if such a freak had been missed, the elite class would certainly not let him go. The school leadership would certainly support this student's transfer to the elite class to receive the school's best educational resources. If word of this student's grades got out, schools in the city and even the province would likely come to poach him.

Just look at the shining eyes of the two head teachers of Classes 1 and 2, and you will know how eager they are to recruit talents!

No teacher suspected that such scores were cheated. Not to mention that these invigilators themselves were relatively responsible and it was basically impossible for students to cheat, but the questions on this set of papers were carefully collected and screened by these teachers, and most of them had certain changes made to the original prompts. There were no so-called answers before the papers were marked, and there was no risk of the test questions being leaked.

To be able to achieve such a brilliant result in such a complex knowledge base and difficult questions can only mean that this student is truly excellent, with a solid foundation, advanced self-study, clear logical thinking, and flexibility.

Old Chen wiped his face. Before he opened the test paper, he never thought that a big prize would fall into his family. But he couldn't keep such a talented student, which made him want to curse!

To be honest, he didn't have a very deep impression of Wu Tong, a student who wasn't particularly active in class. If he remembered correctly, his final grades were just average. So how come he suddenly took off this summer? Or, as the saying goes, a comeback!

Was it because he didn't relax during the summer vacation and took extra classes, so now he's showing his skills? He seemed to remember that the child's mother was also in the education system, teaching at the county primary school. With a teacher at home, she must have attached great importance to her child's studies.

But this kid, when he exerted his strength, he was just waiting for this one empty joy.

After being surprised, the teachers were all very happy. Having such a good seedling, no matter which class he was in, as long as they ensured that the child performed well in the future, at least there would be a bottom line for their class.

The scoring process continued. Having opened the papers from Room 11 and recorded Wu Tong's score, the others were also entered. Gradually, scores were entered into the computer. Most of them hovered around the passing line, with the occasional one or two scoring over 100 in a major subject, and few above 80 in physics, chemistry, and biology.

Apart from the miracle Wu Tong, almost no one scored above 130 in the main subjects. The teachers present were not too disappointed. This is the normal level that should be expected in the 11th examination hall.

On Monday morning, during self-study and morning reading time, many students in Class 7 of Grade 12 were still drowsy when the teacher walked into the classroom as the morning reading bell rang.

"Dear students, the results of this baseline test have come out. I will post the report cards on the wall and the red list on the display board later. You can take a look at them after morning self-study.

I just want to say that everyone did worse than I expected. Even on such basic questions, you still made so many mistakes. It really disappointed all the teachers. You will take the college entrance examination next year. How much time do you have left to waste? For those students who ranked low and whose grades have declined, I hope you can reflect on yourselves and ask yourself why this happened?...

"Of course, some students performed exceptionally well in this exam. I hope everyone can learn from them!"

"Who is this talking about?"

“Maybe it’s just those few people!”

"It's probably either the class monitor or one of the student council members, Old Chen's favorites!" Zhang Shumei gossiped quietly with Wu Tong, "Wu Tong, how did you do on the exam? I almost gave up. I didn't study during the summer vacation and just did it based on my instincts!"

"It should be okay. I reviewed during the summer vacation!" Wu Tong responded softly. After the test, Wu Tong had a basic estimate of his score. Except for Chinese, there would be no other basic mistakes. It depends on the teacher's mood whether he will deduct points on the paper or something like that. It should be a good score.

"I'm so envious that I'm crying!" Zhang Shumei also seemed to say this. It meant that her grades were stable and her pocket money would not be deducted by her mother at home.

The teacher was still talking, and the class hushed in discussion for a moment before returning to normal order. Old Chen, after a heart-wrenching speech of encouragement about grades, tore off some tape and taped the report card to the side wall of the blackboard.

He was really distressed and in a difficult situation. The class had finally produced a bright young man, and the two head teachers of the top classes one and two were already eagerly waiting for him. If he hadn't hoped that he would communicate with the students first and maintain some reserve for the top classes, the two head teachers would have surely come to him on their own initiative. Which student wouldn't yearn for the top class? The school already had a policy that students who ranked in the top 100 could be promoted to the top class according to their wishes.

The top class is the signature of their school. It is staffed by the best teachers and receives the best treatment. How could any student not be willing to enter the top class!

When Lao Chen posted the report card on the wall, it naturally attracted the students' attention, especially the first two rows, who could see it clearly without leaving their seats. Students in the back rows needed very good eyesight.

“Oh my god…”

"I, Cao..."

Exclamations came from the mouths of those who had the best view. They were used to seeing who was in first place and how many points they had, but they were immediately dazzled by the series of 150/150/100/100, or even 100, with a total score of 733, which was the first place by a huge margin. There were actually people who could get such a score in theory. Is they still human?

Oh my god, what the hell? What the hell... Those in the back row, unable to see clearly, were suddenly filled with curiosity, like a cat scratching its ribs. They hated it when someone spoke halfway, leaving them hanging in the air. Just as those in the front row were about to turn around and share their shock with the students behind them, they saw Lao Chen's suppressed gaze glaring at them, and they immediately shut their mouths and fell silent.

Seeing that they were quite sensible, Old Chen didn't say anything more. He clapped his hands and said, "Okay, it's time for morning self-study now. Let's continue with our morning reading."

Then, he paused and said, "Wu Tong, come out with me!"

Before the top class came to him without any shame, he would always communicate with his own students first, just in case! People still have to have dreams.
