Chapter VII Plan

A slap landed on Jin Yuan's back, the sound resonating, clearly uncontrollable. The one who struck him was none other than Grandma Jin, who swiftly emerged from the house. The old lady wore her hair in an old-fashioned bun, secured with a hairnet, even her sideburns neatly pinned with black clips. It was incomprehensible how she and Old Jin, who were not the type to laugh or play, could have raised such an unruly son.

"Of course, aren't you afraid of scaring Tongtong?" Aunt-in-law Xu Meifeng, who came out with her mother-in-law, affectionately embraced Wu Tong and ushered everyone in, laughing and teasing her husband. She was a dashing woman, tall and strong, looking very healthy. Wu Tong had grown up in their home, and they treated her like their own daughter, even doting on her even more because she was a girl.

"Hehe..." Jin Yuan was not annoyed. Being hit by his own mother, is that called being beaten? Of course not, it is a manifestation of his mother's love! Being ridiculed by his wife, that is because his wife has a sharp tongue but a soft heart, and loves him! Just because his wife can raise her niece as her own daughter, he, Jin Yuan, flatters her as if she is his own queen.

The family chatted and laughed as they entered the living room. Wu Tong was taken to sit next to the old man, and the four members of the Jin family gathered around to feed him various things. There was a portion of watermelon, cantaloupe, and peach that was cut into small pieces, accompanied by honey red bean and coconut fruit pieces. Xu Meifeng was peeling the washed grapes and opening a large fruit yogurt.

Wu Tong loves to mix yogurt with fruit, a hobby the Jin family knows all too well. The ingredients are all ready, waiting for Wu Tong to add as he pleases. If it weren't for the coldness and the strict rules of his family, Wu Tong would actually prefer the recently popular stir-fried yogurt. With all sorts of toppings, it's rich in flavor, refreshing, and a perfect way to cool down in the sweltering summer heat.

After the family kissed each other, Wu Tong asked Jin Xin, "Will my brother come back at noon?" Jin Xin is entering the third year of high school this year. It is the most critical year for him. School has started early in August to make up for the missed classes. It is a do-or-die battle.

"He's back. Your brother is still a day student this year. He'll be back at noon and in the evening!" This year is the most critical year. Whether it's food or accommodation, it's still more comfortable at home. "Do you want to ask your brother for something? His things are all in his room. Tongtong, go get them yourself!"

"Then I'll go see if my brother has his second-grade textbooks at home, and what materials he's bought for second grade. I'll go check them out!" Wu Tong went straight to Jin Xin's room, leaving some space for the adults to chat and reminisce. She and Jin Xin had always been close friends, having grown up together, so he was definitely her brother.

"Tongtong is sensible and motivated, and he knows how to study. But Jinxin needs someone to keep a close eye on him!" Xu Meifeng sighed worriedly. She only had one son, who was tall and strong, but he was not very smart in studying.

With my current grades, I should be able to get into university if I persist. However, the specific number of universities I can get into will depend on my review and performance this year. It's really frustrating and helpless!

I don't know if it's because they are not good parents. They grew up together. Tongtong's parents are both college students. From childhood to adulthood, they have always been top students. If the brother and sister were in the same grade, Jinxin would be left far behind.

Xu Meifeng was proud of Tongtong, but also worried about her silly boy. Their current situation was only the child's last resort. If the child could pass the exam and have a better career, they would naturally prefer their child to strive for a better future.

"Tongtong, you all know it. It was the same before. He always needed someone to push him. Only now he's kind of figured it out. It's good that Jin Xin has figured it out!" Once he got it, he couldn't stop. The enthusiasm surprised her and the child's father. They said they were a little worried that their child was studying too hard.

Of course, it’s not a good idea to say this in front of your brother and sister-in-law, otherwise it would seem like boasting and showing off, hurting your family members and rubbing salt into their wounds.

While the adults were chatting about their children, Wu Tong went straight to the third floor. The third floor was divided into two halves, one half was Jin Xin's room, and the other half was usually Wu Tong's.

Although Wu Tong could only stay at the Jin family during holidays since she started elementary school, her room was always reserved for her.

The two people's rooms have the same layout, but the large bedroom has a small partition in the middle, one side is the bedroom, and the other side can be used as a study. Wu Tong entered Jin Xin's room and went straight to his bookshelf.

The family respects knowledge, and the two children still keep the books they have been reading since they were young. They have bought a special bookshelf to separate them. Jinxin's things may not be very neatly arranged, but they are arranged neatly and orderly on the bookshelf. Various textbooks and supplementary books are stacked according to grade.

The tradition at No. 1 High School was to complete all high school courses in the second year, even starting the first round of review. The third year started early, marking the start of the second round of review. It was normal that Jin Xin didn't have any of his high school textbooks at home, except for the liberal arts textbooks he didn't need. Wu Tong had expected this when he came up, but he wasn't disappointed.

However, the supplementary teaching books he used in his second year of high school were all at home, and even the reference books he used for a round of review were also thrown at home.

Wu Tong took a rough look at the titles of various reference books and exercise books. She wanted to buy some more exercise materials. She had used up all the teaching materials at home, and it was time to buy new ones.

She had previously purchased mostly basic materials, and now, after buying exercise books, Wu Tong wanted to add some advanced materials. She found joy in retaking freshman year subjects and also discovered her ability to learn independently.

With her current abilities, simply following the teacher's instructions would be a waste of time, and she wanted to see where her limits were. She planned to study the content for her second and third year of high school ahead of time, which would require basic practice materials for each subject.

I came to my grandma's house today and just happened to see what review materials her brother used. The materials used in the review class are more targeted.

Wu Tong casually picked up a math reference book and began flipping through it while sitting at Jin Xin's desk. These days, reference books are meticulously crafted, covering most of the textbook content and even including guidance and analysis from renowned teachers. Wu Tong typically tries to understand the material first, then analyze it to solidify his grasp of the key points.

His consciousness touched the enlightenment stone tablet and entered a deep learning state. Wu Tong eagerly absorbed new knowledge from the reference book in his hand.

With the foundation laid thoroughly after retaking the first year of high school, Yu Wutong did not have any difficulty in accepting and understanding the mathematics knowledge of the second year of high school. She understood it attentively, and unconsciously took the pen and draft paper on Jin Xin's desk to calculate and deduce, writing down line after line of rigorous mathematical formulas.
