Chapter 53: Bad Luck

All this happened so unreal that Sikong Ling felt like he was dreaming.

This was the first time in his life that someone had carried him like a carrying pole!

It was not until the window of Sikong Ling's room was opened, Chen Xi threw herself and the wooden stake onto the kang, and then she crawled in, that Sikong Ling suddenly reacted.

"Well, thank you for sending me back. Can you come in?" Sikong Ling was a little scared when he saw Chen Xi rolling up his sleeves.

Chen Xi didn't say anything. He helped Sikong Ling untie the vines, placed him steadily on the kang, and then put the wooden stake on the ground.

"Wait for me for a moment. I'll go back to my room and get you something to bandage your wound." Chen Xi stepped forward and observed the wound on Sikong Ling's leg. It was a serious wound, with scratches and some fractures.

Fortunately, my grandfather knows a little bit about treating injuries. After all, he was born into a military family, and on the battlefield, knowing some Chinese medicine can save your life.

It was thanks to my grandfather's knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine that he was able to live to this age and retire.

Who would have thought that he would be framed and demoted after retirement?

It really makes me depressed just thinking about it.

After Chen Xi finished speaking, he pulled up the wooden stake again and jumped out of the window. It was obvious that he was very skilled at this and had done it many times.

Sikong Ling looked at Chen Xi's back as he left, and suddenly felt that this little figure seemed to be full of energy, which made people feel extremely at ease.

Chen Xi didn't know what Sikong Ling was thinking. He returned to his room and threw the wooden stake next to the firewood pile. Then he fiddled with the medicine box in the space RV, took out some bandages and hemostatic drugs, and then took them out of the packaging.

He left his window again and returned to Sikong Ling's room.

Seeing Chen Xi coming back with bandages and some hemostatic drugs, Sikong Ling was stunned.

"Where did you get these?" Sikong Ling asked in disbelief.

There aren't many of these things in the commune hospital, so where did she come from?

"That's what you're asking. I'm going to the countryside, so I have to prepare some of these things to be on the safe side, right?" Chen Xi dared to take it out, so he must have an excuse.

After Chen Xi's explanation, Sikong Ling realized that Chen Xi knew someone in the hospital in his hometown, and it was that friend who helped him get the card.

Chen Xi first disinfected Sikong Ling's wound with iodine, then realized the wound wasn't too deep to require stitches. He applied some of the most common hemostatic liquid of their era and finally wrapped it with gauze.

After the external injuries are dealt with, the only things left are the internal injuries.

Chen Xi stretched out his hand and touched the other person's leg bone, wow!

This unlucky guy really broke his bone...

"You can cure fractures?" Sikong Ling's tone clearly revealed disbelief. He was already very surprised that Chen Xi could cure his own injuries, but he really didn't expect that this bone dislocation could be cured.

However, Chen Xi's technique was so agile that he controlled the strength just right. With a click, his leg, which had been in so much pain that his face was distorted, was put back in place.

He didn't even have time to react and looked at Chen Xi in confusion.

He had already prepared for the possibility that Chen Xi might make a mistake with the bones and joints, but he didn't expect Chen Xi to get it right in one go.

"Chen Xi, you..." Sikong Ling hesitated to speak.

"Okay, I'll ask the team leader for leave for you tomorrow. You can have a good rest for a day and don't rush to work." Chen Xi stood up and patted the dust off his hands.

Then he opened the window and nimbly slipped out from the place he came from.

Sikong Ling didn't come back to his senses until he heard the sound of the window next door closing and opening.

He still had many questions to ask Chen Xi. Why did Chen Xi appear in the back mountain in the middle of the night? And why did he just happen to save him?

Thinking about how he seemed to have someone helping him down the mountain when he was in danger for two consecutive nights, he couldn't help but wonder if it was Chen Xi who helped him on the first night as well.

But why did Chen Xi want to help himself?

Chen Xi didn't know that Sikong Ling had become suspicious, so he returned to the space and went to the warehouse to take a nap.

When I regained my energy and stood up to leave the warehouse, the time outside remained the same, it was still the time when I entered the space.

The next step is to deal with the problem of getting the spoils from tonight's trip up the mountain.

In order to please himself, the Wolf King not only asked his younger brothers to help find Sikong Ling, but also got himself a lot of prey, calling it food for the little wolf cubs.

So how much can a wolf cub that is not even as tall as its own calf eat?

Chen Xi naturally knew that these were all the Wolf King's disguised ways of showing filial piety to him.

These things need to be skinned, and the remaining fur needs to be tanned. After tanning, they can be made into hats, scarves or gloves for winter, all of which have uses.

Chen Xi was busy in the space until the bell of the educated youth point rang in the morning and then he stopped what he was doing.

Then he returned to the RV, washed up, adjusted his body shape appropriately, and finally drank a cup of strong Pu'er tea before leaving the space and opening the door to go out.

"Comrade Sikong, you should have a good rest in the room!" When Zhao Zhengguo called everyone to gather early in the morning, he had already discovered that the visible person at their educated youth point had not shown up, so he went out to find out.

It would have been better if I didn't understand. Once I understood, I was completely speechless.

This kid fell off the kang in the middle of the night, not only breaking his bones...but also bleeding on his leg. Fortunately, he used the medicine kit he carried with him to treat the wound, otherwise who knows what would have happened.

Seeing Zhao Zhengguo walking out of Sikong Ling's room, Chen Xi was not surprised at all. He just joined the team calmly.

The boring life of going to work and coming home continued.

Chen Xi worked even harder today, trying to finish all the required work points in one morning.

She didn't even eat lunch when others were having it.

Everyone was a little confused when they saw her doing it so passionately, and they didn't quite understand what she was doing.

But everyone soon found out that she was working so hard not to show off how fast she was, but to get into the city.

After finishing her work, she didn't rush to eat, but ran to the team leader to apply for a pass to go to the town. These days, you have to get a pass to go anywhere, otherwise you can't move an inch.

"Okay! You have finished your work for today anyway, so remember to come back early. The road back to the village is not easy to walk on at night." The team leader was afraid that Chen Xi would forget the time while playing in the city, so he gave him some instructions.

Chen Xi nodded repeatedly, and happily walked towards the city in the envious eyes of the team leader and the team members.

She has to get a bicycle, otherwise it will be unacceptable.

You can't tell yourself that you can walk faster than others riding bicycles, right?

This is unrealistic.
