In the dim sunlight, the girl stood very far away from him, so far that he could hardly even make out Jiang Qing's expression.

Jiang Qing: "I thought I had made myself clear."

"What do you understand?" Li Qingyun stared ahead with cold eyes. "I understand that your family is planning to move to Haicheng. I understand that you don't feel any guilt at all. I understand that the murderer's family can also feel at peace."

"Tell me," the boy's voice was cold, like the biting winter wind that hurts your face, "what should I understand?"

Jiang Qing looked at him quietly, "Our family has fulfilled its responsibilities in this matter."

"I heard from the lawyer that our family only needs to compensate your family within the scope of the inheritance, isn't that enough?"

The girl's voice had a soft tone unique to girls, with a slightly rising ending, which seemed out of place in such a cold and lonely scene.

Jiang Qing was completely unaware. She continued, "What's past is past."

"I don't want us all to be stuck in the past. For you, me, and our families, the best option is to not see each other."

"Li Qingyun, I don't owe you anything," she said finally. "Don't come to me again."

The veins on Li Qingyun's forehead were throbbing, and his face became terribly gloomy as Jiang Qing spoke, and he forced out a sneer from between his teeth.

He moved closer, "Jiang Qing, say it again."

Jiang Qing moved, she walked out of the shadows, half of her face clearly visible in the moonlight.

The moment Jiang Qing saw the girl's face clearly, her pupils shrank. How could this be!?

Why is it Jiang Qing himself, or the dummy they prepared in advance?

She was about to rush out, but someone suddenly grabbed her wrist.

Lin Nanyan shook his head at Jiang Qing.

It's too late. Jiang Jiang's appearance will only make their plan come to nothing.

What's more, that was Jiang Qing's choice.

Jiang Qing understood what Lin Nanyan meant. She bit her nails anxiously and watched the next development with impatience.

As far as the eye could see, the distance between the two people gradually narrowed, until they were so close that they could touch each other with their hands.

Jiang Qing couldn't help but hold her breath. Why didn't Senior Jiang Qing come as planned?

Why?

Because Jiang Qing knew clearly what kind of attitude would most anger the boy in front of her, whom she had felt guilty and disgusted with countless times.

"I don't owe you anything," she began. "No one in my family owes your family anything."

Li Qingyun looked down at the girl in front of him, as if he was meeting her for the first time. He bent down and stared at the girl, his black eyes not letting in any light.

"What about my dad?" he asked word by word.

Jiang Qing did not dodge or avoid, but looked straight at Li Qingyun.

"That's my father's fate, and your father's fate too. You can't blame anyone else."

Every word of the girl's voice rang clearly in her ears, with a tone of indifference, a sense of relief, a rare respite under heavy pressure, and a hint of mockery.

"Ha!" Li Qingyun let out a short breath and pulled his hair, like the last struggle of a helpless trapped beast.

The moment he turned around, he became furious, his face changed suddenly, and he grabbed Jiang Qing's throat.

Jiang Qing's face changed drastically. She raised her foot to run out but froze in place the next moment after seeing Jiang Qing's gesture.

Jiang Qing said: Believe me, please wait a moment.

"Jiang Qing," Li Qingyun pressed the burning blood vessels underneath with his rough fingertips, applying more force bit by bit, "Have you been holding these words in your heart for a long time?"

Pain slowly came from his neck, but Jiang Qing seemed unaware of it.

If her voice hadn't changed slightly, no one would have noticed that the girl was in pain.

She looked straight into the boy's eyes and said, "Yes."

"You shouldn't have come to me in the first place. Whether you're resentful or angry, that's your own business and has nothing to do with me."

She raised her foot, moved closer to the boy, and said in a low but clear voice, "Please be rational, your father——"

"Dead."

The girl's words were like a sharp sword that pierced Li Qingyun's heart. His blood rushed up rapidly, and the corners of his eyes were burned red, with red blood vessels spreading.

Something was shaking, something was struggling violently. The moment it broke out of the ground, his sanity collapsed into a vast expanse of white.

“Swish——”

The shiny blade flashed for a moment, illuminating Jiang Qing's frightened eyes.

"Don't--"

She rushed out in shock and anger, and Chen Heng, who was lying in ambush on the other side, also stood up and kicked her.

But the distance was too far and the boy's movements were so fast that no one could stop him.

Jiang Qing could only watch as the blade drew an arc through the air and then fell down mercilessly.

Maybe one second, maybe less than one second.

With a "swish", the blade pierced in.

Chen Heng's long legs arrived soon after and kicked Li Qingyun's wrist the next moment.

The blade flew out unexpectedly and landed on the ground with a loud thud, shocking everyone present.

Li Qingyun's wrist quickly became red and swollen, and his fingertips trembled uncontrollably, but he just stared at Jiang Qing and asked, "Why?"

Jiang Qing was also shocked by the sudden change before her eyes. She was confused for a moment, "W-what?"

Li Qingyun lowered his eyes and looked at the pockets of the girl's loose shirt. "Why don't you do it?"

Jiang Qing's hand holding the electric baton in his pocket suddenly tightened, "I don't know what you are talking about."

Li Qingyun laughed at himself, but this time he didn't look at Jiang Qing. He turned around and stared at the boy behind him and asked, "How is it?"

"Did you get what you wanted?"

Lin Nanyan's gaze slid across the still shiny white blade on the ground, and finally fell on Li Qingyun's sarcastic face.

He said, "I'm sorry."

Li Qingyun took two steps forward, picked up the sharp blade on the ground, wiped it carefully, and held it directly in front of Lin Nanyan. "Does it look familiar?"

Lin Nanyan lowered his eyes. He saw the familiar sharpness and coldness. This was a weapon that had been stained with his blood.

He opened his mouth to speak, but someone pulled him behind him.

Looking down, I saw the girl in front of me standing on tiptoe, puffing out her chest, and bluffing, "What do you mean?"

Jiang Qing quickly walked over and put Jiang Qing behind him.

Chen Heng also strode over and stood beside them.

Li Qingyun's gaze fell on the group of people in front of him, "Shouldn't I be asking you this?"

He suddenly turned his head and looked towards the corner.

There was a red light quietly lit, facing their direction.

There was silence on the other end of the monitor, and everyone was shocked by the overwhelming twists and turns.

After a long while, Song Shuang's stuttering voice rang out, "He...he knows."

Ye Meiyan frowned and looked at the picture on the monitor without saying a word.

On the other side, Jiang Qing also asked: "Do you know?"

"No," Li Qingyun denied, "I don't know."

"I don't know why you treat me like a murderer."

"I don't know why you are so sure that I will kill Jiang Qing."

"I don't know what I did wrong to deserve you to frame me like this."

"Even you," Li Qingyun turned his head and looked at Jiang Qing, "are colluding with them to force me."

He asked, "Why do you want to convict me in advance? Why should I be deceived and suffer based on a mere unfounded speculation?"

"Tell me," he threw the dagger in his hand, "Why?!"

The dagger fell to the ground, and it seemed to hit everyone's heart heavily. The boy's questioning was loud and clear.

The scene fell into dead silence.

Li Qingyun looked around and no one answered him.

He lowered his eyes, hiding the emotions churning in them, and turned around, his back showing an imperceptible sense of desolation.

"What if—" a voice sounded again behind him, "What if you are it?"

Li Qingyun stopped and asked, "What did you say?"

"I'm sorry, I understand how you feel now. Maybe you feel wronged or even ridiculous." Although Jiang Qing felt guilty, she forced herself to hold it back.

Jiang Qing, don't forget your purpose.

She stood up from behind Jiang Qing, suppressing all her complicated emotions, "I can't think of who else it could be if not you."

She asked, "Will you take the blame for Li Liang?"

Li Qingyun looked at the girl's serious expression, his eyes swept over the people behind him, and suddenly realized that even Jiang Qing seemed to be waiting for the answer to this question.

A huge sense of absurdity descended upon him, and Li Qingyun didn't know whether he was crazy or the world was crazy.

"Li Liang will kill Jiang Qing," he said, suddenly no longer in a hurry to leave, and took back his steps, "It's either me or Li Liang."

"Why?" he asked, "Are you planning a plot against Li Liang too?"

Jiang Qing nodded, frankly admitting, "If it wasn't you, he would be next."

Perhaps because of the girl's bizarre train of thought, Li Qingyun couldn't even get angry at all. He could now talk to the girl calmly.

"Can you tell me why?" He raised the corners of his lips with difficulty, and said with a forced smile, "Why are you targeting our Li family?"

"Why does our Li family have to have a murderer?"

"Because..." Jiang Qing was stuck because she saw it in the future.

Lin Nanyan said, "Because the car accident was not one person's fault."

"What did you say?" Li Qingyun's expression froze.

Jiang Qing suddenly turned around and looked at the boy who was talking. What did he mean by the car accident was not one person's fault?

Jiang Qing's eyes lit up, "Did you receive the confirmation?"

"Well," Lin Nanyan's eyes moved away from the screen that had just lit up. He looked at Li Qingyun, "How about you call Li Liang first?"

Twenty minutes later, at the same place, there was another person named Li Liang.

The boy came in with a bright smile, "Why are you calling me so late?"

He looked around. Under the bright light, all the objects were shining brightly.

"What is this place?"

Li Qingyun didn't reply until Li Liang patted his shoulder, and then he came back to his senses.

Li Liang met Li Qingyun's dark eyes and red corners and asked in surprise, "No lunch break?"

Li Qingyun: "I made an appointment with Jiang Qing."

Li Liang raised his eyebrows slightly, "Here?"

"Well," Li Qingyun looked at Li Liang intently, "Thank you for helping me find Jiang Qing's address."

"We're all brothers, why be so polite?" Li Liang consoled him, "Be more tactful when you speak to others."

"Although your two families had some conflicts due to the accident, it has nothing to do with the girl after all. What happened is over."

"I heard that girl got a certificate from the Haicheng Academy of Fine Arts and will leave this city as soon as the college entrance examination is over."

"When the time comes, we'll go our separate ways. She'll live her life, and you'll live yours."

"In the future, I'll burn more paper money for my uncle-in-law at his grave. I'll stay away from my hometown more often. I won't see him, I won't think about him, and everything will be over."

"I can't get over it," Li Qingyun stared at Li Liang and said stubbornly, "I'll never get over it in my lifetime."

Li Liang's heart skipped a beat when he was stared at by the boy with strange eyes, and he sensed something strange.

"Why do I feel like there's something wrong with you?"
