Chapter 104 Level 4 Examination

The day before the CET-4 exam, the sun shone through the glass curtain walls of the teaching building, casting a layer of warm light on the campus. The school organized the headphone test in an orderly manner to ensure that the listening part of each candidate went smoothly during the exam.

"Students, please turn on your headphones and tune them to the designated frequency." A clear voice came from the radio.

In the lecture hall, the students acted quickly. Some pressed the headphone switch skillfully, while others frantically searched for the instruction manual.

There was no response from Jian Yunxi's headphones. She flipped the switch repeatedly, and beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.

Seeing her classmates around her successfully debugging and showing relaxed expressions on their faces, she was anxious and her fingers trembled slightly from exerting too much force.

No way, don't let me down at the critical moment. Although I heard from Guo Xinyue that 1% of the earphones in the Level 4 exam have problems, so I have to test them in advance so that I can replace them at any time.

And she actually became one of the one hundred people. What kind of luck was this? She could only comfort herself that "good things come to those who wait."

Jian Yunxi resigned himself to his fate and changed for a new headset. Surprisingly, this headset could receive the signal as soon as it was turned on.

After the test, everyone went back to the dormitory one after another. Huang Miao did not go to the library either. She needed to conserve her energy tonight.

Jian Yunxi collapsed on the chair as soon as she returned to the dormitory. She quickly shared this matter with Lu Yang. Just after she sent the message, Lu Yang called her.

"Lu Yang, have you finished the headphone test?" Lu Yang can also take the Level 4 exam in the first semester.

"Yeah, we just finished not long ago. Yunxi, are your headphones in good condition?"

"Okay, okay, I got a new one. Who would have thought that this headset could not work properly?"

Lu Yang chuckled on the other end of the phone: "That's good, Yunxi, I believe in you, you will definitely pass with high scores!"

Jian Yunxi was also full of confidence: "Thank you for the good wishes from Mr. Lu, then I wish both of us to pass with high scores!"

The beautiful and elite students in Room 307 went to bed early, and even the previous seminars were suspended.

When the alarm rang, the four of them immediately became energetic, quickly washed up, packed their equipment, and rushed to the examination room, buying breakfast on the way.

Several people were not in the same examination room. They had all checked the examination room yesterday.

Jian Yunxi's examination room was a small classroom that could accommodate 30 candidates. After the invigilator scanned him at the door, Jian Yunxi found his seat.

She put away her exam stationery and headphones, and cleared her mind to prepare for her first important exam after entering university, the CET-4.

Jian Yunxi adjusted his headphones and leaned back in his chair, waiting for the exam to begin.

The sunlight outside the window filtered through the blinds and cast tiny spots of light on the floor. The only sounds in the classroom were the occasional rustling of pens across the desk and the sound of flipping test papers.

The invigilator stood at the podium and announced in a steady voice: "Candidates, please check whether your headphones are working properly. The listening test is about to begin."

Jian Yunxi once again confirmed that the headphone volume was moderate and the signal was clear.

She took a deep breath and focused on the test paper in front of her.

A familiar audition prompt came from the headphones: "This is the listening prehension section of College English Test Band 4..."

The listening material began to play, with standard British pronunciation clear and fluent.

Jian Yunxi lowered his head slightly and quickly ticked the answers on the answer sheet.

The candidates around were also concentrating, and the only sound in the classroom was the faint sound of pen tips rubbing against paper.

She didn't hear a question clearly, but she didn't panic. Instead, she quickly adjusted her state and continued to focus on the content that followed.

The exam pace was tight, but she had long since adapted to the intensity and even left time to check options she was unsure of.

Two hours later, the bell rang to signal the end of the exam. Jian Yunxi closed the cap on her pen and breathed a sigh of relief. When she walked out of the exam room, the sun was shining brightly. She picked up her phone and sent a message to Lu Yang: I've finished the exam!

As a result, the message was not sent out for a long time. She then realized that the signals around the examination room were blocked and she had a Level 6 exam in the afternoon.

Fortunately, she and Lu Yang had agreed last night to meet at the gate of her school after the exam. It would take some time for Lu Yang to arrive anyway, so she walked towards the school gate leisurely.

Jian Yunxi walked briskly and met many people along the way who were discussing the CET-4 exam.

One of the girls said in a clear voice: "The speed of the listening test was so fast this time that I could hardly keep up." Another girl echoed: "Yeah, I missed a lot of key words."

As Jian Yunxi listened to their conversation, the corners of her mouth rose unconsciously. She was glad that she had reviewed sufficiently and performed fairly steadily in the exam.

Just as I was thinking about it, my phone rang. It was a message from Lu Yang: "Yunxi, my phone just got a signal. I'm on my way. Please wait for me at the school gate for a while."

Jian Yunxi quickly replied: "Okay, don't worry, be careful."

Then she opened the group chat of 307 and asked in it.

It’s the Cloud, Not the Moon: Sisters, how did you do in the exam?

Mr. Sanshui: So easy!

You are the one to blame: Huang Miao, stop stirring up hatred.

Miaomiaomiao: Oh my god, you know what? I met a girl when I was leaving the exam room. She actually said that my composition was off topic. Can you guys help me analyze it?

It’s the Clouds, Not the Moon: What’s off topic? I think it’s her who went off topic.

You are the one who is to blame: Seconded.

Mr. Sanshui: I second the motion.

Miaomiaomiao: That’s good. I was scared to death.

You are the one to blame: Tsk, you coward.
