Jian Yunxi had a poor appetite since returning from Chengdu. At first, he said the food was tasteless and wanted to vomit after eating a few bites. Later, he started to dry heave when passing by the cafeteria door.
Guo Xinyue asked him to pack the food for her to eat, but she actually vomited it out.
"Yunxi, are you pregnant?" Huang Miao saw that this is how it was played on TV.
"Miaozi, don't talk nonsense." Although Sun Qimiao said this, he had no confidence at all.
After all, Jian Yunxi and her boyfriend have been in love for several years, so it is normal for something to happen, and she will definitely not engage in risky sexual behavior.
"Probably not." Jian Yunxi knew it wasn't the case. After all, she and Lu Yang had been together only a few times, and every time Lu Yang would wear a condom and then do it outside, double insurance.
She guessed that it might be because she ate too spicy food in Chengdu and her stomach was reacting.
She had been planning to go to the hospital for a check-up at the weekend, but Lu Yang's mother called and asked her and Lu Yang to come over for dinner. Lu Yang's father had gone to Suzhou to attend an exchange meeting and bought some Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs.
Jian Yunxi did not tell Lu Yang about her stomach problems, and was afraid that he would see that her role was not good, so she put on full makeup.
She wore a blue plaid long dress, tied her hair into a princess style, and tied a bow of the same color at the back of her hair, which made her look very youthful.
Lu Yang's eyes light up every time he sees Jian Yunxi.
"Do I look good?" Jian Yunxi would always turn around in front of Lu Yang.
"It looks good, it looks good every time!"
Lu Yang took Jian Yunxi's bag and held her hand as usual.
Every time the two of them went back to the Lu family, they basically only had lunch. Because Lu Yang's father was a doctor, he always felt that they had to eat a full meal at noon, and the evening meal was dispensable.
When I got home, the crabs were steaming in the pot.
"Yunxi, Yangyang, go wash your hands first, and we'll have dinner later."
Every time Mother Lu saw Jian Yunxi coming over, she was very happy and would ask about this and talk about that.
Jian Yunxi came out of the bathroom just as Lu Yang's father opened the kitchen door and prepared to serve the food.
She immediately smelled the odor of food mixed with oil smoke, and couldn't help but go back to the bathroom to vomit.
The bathroom door was tightly closed, and the suppressed retching sounds of Jian Yunxi could be heard from inside.
"Yunxi? Are you okay? What happened?" Lu Yang knocked on the door gently, with a rare panic in his voice.
There was a sound of water splashing inside the door. Jian Yunxi leaned on the sink and looked up. Her face in the mirror was pale, and her hair was soaked with cold sweat and stuck to her cheeks. She took a deep breath and just opened the door when Lu Yang held her.
"Go to the hospital." His voice was stiff, and his arm was across her waist, almost half-lifting her up.
"Really, Lu Yang, I think I have a stomachache, it's okay!"
"No, you must go." Lu Yang's voice could not be refused.
In the living room, Father Lu froze in place with the plate of steamed crabs. Mother Lu pushed him and said, "Old Lu, what are you doing standing there? Go and drive the car."
Her eyes swept back and forth between her son and Jian Yunxi, seeming to want to say something but stopping herself.
"Gastroenteritis caused mild anorexia." The doctor pushed his glasses, the ink on the medical record was not dry yet, "Have you been under too much pressure recently? Have you been eating irregularly?"
"No, I just went to Chengdu last time and I felt a little uncomfortable after coming back. It got worse and worse..."
Jian Yunxi's voice became smaller and smaller because he saw Lu Yang's brows becoming more and more furrowed.
Oh no, Jian Yunxi rarely saw Lu Yang angry.
Mr. and Mrs. Lu parked the car and came in. Jian Yunxi had done the examination and the doctor was ready to prescribe medicine.
"Director Lu, why are you here?"
"This is my son's girlfriend. She just happened to be eating at home and she's not feeling well. Is that okay?"
"It's nothing, it's just gastroenteritis. I need to be given an IV drip and continue to take medicine when I get home. Fortunately, it's just mild anorexia."
"Well," Father Lu coughed again, hesitating, "It's not that!"
The doctor understood immediately: "Don't worry, it's not what you think."
Mr. Lu’s inner thoughts: It’s not me who is imagining things, it’s my wife who is imagining things.
Because they couldn't find a parking space, Lu's father asked Lu Yang to take Jian Yunxi upstairs for a check-up first.
Mother Lu kept saying, "Old Lu, isn't Yunxi pregnant? How do we explain this to her parents? What's wrong with Yangyang?"
So Mr. Lu didn't even think about gastroenteritis.
Jian Yunxi hadn't had an IV drip in several years. When the cold medicine flowed into her blood vessels through the infusion tube, she shivered unconsciously.
Lu Yang immediately put the coat on the back of the chair over her shoulders, and then reached out to cover the infusion tube - as if this could warm up the medicine.
"Uncle, aunt, you guys go back." Jian Yunxi was receiving intravenous drip alone with three people accompanying him. The scene was too spectacular.
"It's okay for us to go back, but I'd rather stay here with you."
How could Lu's mother leave? She had a good child and was in love with her son, but she ended up getting gastroenteritis because of the care she received from someone else. She was angry with her son every time she thought about it.
Because Mr. Lu is the chief physician in the hospital, the nurses and doctors who come and go all know him and come over to greet him.
When he heard that the person getting the IV drip was his future daughter-in-law, he praised her highly.
So, Jian Yunxi heard the phrases "a talented man and a beautiful woman", "a perfect match", and "a match made in heaven" countless times in a short period of time. She went from being shy in the beginning to slowly falling asleep later.
"Yangyang, is this how you take care of Yunxi?"
Mother Lu had wanted to say this for a long time, and finally she couldn't hold it back and said it out loud.
Lu Yang was also very upset. After returning from Chengdu, he had been researching and developing new software with several classmates. He hadn't seen Jian Yunxi for several days. Now it seemed that everything was traceable.
