Chapter 72 College Entrance Examination Scores

Jian Yunxi spent half a month of summer vacation at her aunt's house. She was worried that her aunt's mother-in-law would ask her about the college entrance examination, but she didn't expect that she was overthinking.

Her aunt is a nurse in the hospital. Her working hours are irregular every day, sometimes she works day shift and sometimes she works night shift.

Basically, when her aunt went to work during the day, Jian Yunxi would take her cousin to play for a while. The half-year-old baby was at the age of being very lovable.

She loved lying on the bed and listening to Jian Yunxi telling stories. Not only did Jian Yunxi tell the stories vividly, he also often added some actions, which made her cousin very happy.

When my little cousin was hungry or needed her diaper changed, it was my grandmother who did it. Usually when Jian Yunxi was playing with the child, my grandmother would do some housework, such as washing clothes.

Jian Yunxi’s favorite thing to do is to go shopping in the supermarket. Every time her grandmother tells her that the family is short of something, she makes a list and goes to the supermarket to buy it. Jian Yunxi always finds fun in shopping.

"This bottle of light soy sauce is only 5.9. I was originally planning to buy another kind, but I found out that the net content is even less than this!"

"I went to the supermarket late today, and many vegetables were sold out. The aunt asked me if I wanted celery, and it was only 1 yuan. I thought it was just a small handful, but she gave me such a big handful!"

Grandma kept praising Jian Yunxi for her shopping skills, and even her aunt said she was an expert at saving money.

Jian Yunxi was even more confused by the compliments, "I will go to the supermarket after 8:30 tomorrow night."

"Why? It's so late. Isn't the supermarket closed?" My aunt was very puzzled.

"Oh, auntie, you don't understand. Today, an auntie told me that the noodles in the supermarket are half price after 8:30. What a good deal!"

Her aunt smiled and shook her head, letting her do whatever makes her happy.

As a result, when she came home from get off work the next day, she saw her mother-in-law smiling from ear to ear. She hurriedly pulled her to look in the refrigerator. What she saw was amazing: there were all kinds of buns, dumplings, pancakes and other pasta.

"Why buy so much?" Aunt Jian Yunxi was dumbfounded.

"Oh," Jian Yunxi realized after returning home that it was indeed a bit too much, "The aunt said it was 50% off, and if I can buy all of them, she will give me a 48% discount. I calculated it and it's a better deal."

But her aunt nodded her head and said, "You, a top student, only care about the amount of money, but you never thought that it would be a waste if you couldn't finish buying so much."

Grandma stepped forward to excuse Jian Yunxi: "It's okay, I'll steam it again tomorrow morning, and you can take it to the hospital to treat your colleagues. We have to buy breakfast anyway."

My aunt thought about it and felt that this method was feasible.

This incident dampened Jian Yunxi's enthusiasm for shopping in the supermarket, but she had to continue shopping.

The day to go home is approaching, and Jian Yunxi is surprised to find that the past half month has passed so quickly. It is indeed so relaxing to play with children.

Before leaving, her aunt said mysteriously that she had a surprise for her. Jian Yunxi opened the box and saw, "Wow, what a beautiful phone!"

Her aunt gave her a new Nokia mobile phone, a flip phone, pure white with bright red buttons, and it could also take pictures.

"Aunt, why did you give me such an expensive gift?"

"Silly girl, this is my college admission gift to you. Your uncle and I agreed that I would buy you a mobile phone first, and he would buy you a laptop later."

Jian Yunxi kept refusing. How could he let them spend so much money?

"You can't refuse a gift from an elder, so keep it. I've put a SIM card in there for you. It's the one your uncle used before. Use it first, and then switch to the card there when you go to college."

Jian Yunxi had no choice but to accept it, but she really liked it.

The phone also comes with Penguin software.

She logged into the QQ account her brother had applied for her. Her only friends were her sister and her brother. She would have to add all her good friends as friends later.

Jian Yunxi changed his profile picture, but the current Penguin software only has a few default profile pictures. He changed his signature to: I will not try to pick the moon, I want the moon to come to me. His QQ name was also changed to "Clouds are not the Moon".

Jian Yunxi and her parents sat next to the phone, extremely nervous. They were told that they could check their grades at 3pm, which was five minutes away.

When the time came, Ms. Li Meiling quickly dialed the number, and a beeping sound came from the microphone.

"Mom, I think you missed a number." Jian Yunxi saw her mother trembling and she pressed the wrong number for the second time.

Jian Feng couldn't bear to watch it any longer, so he took the phone and finally made the call successfully.

Following the prompts of the mechanical female voice, Jian Yunxi entered her ID number and admission ticket number, and took out a pen and paper to record her scores.

Jian Yunxi was filled with joy. She had never expected that she could do so well in the college entrance examination. She also firmly believed that her fate in this life had changed. This time, she would not have any regrets!

She sighed in relief and sat down on the ground.

"Great! Our Xixi did really well in the exam!"

Jian Feng and Li Meiling hugged each other. They were so happy for their baby daughter. They thought their 12 years of hard study had not been in vain and their efforts had paid off.

Jian Feng reacted quickly and told the good news to his relatives and friends.

"Dad, let me tell you, Xixi scored 664 points in the college entrance examination. Yes, she can try to get into Beijing University..."

"Hey, little sister, let me tell you..."
