Chapter 86 Becoming a College Student

Comrade Jian Feng drove for more than eight hours to reach Beijing. He set out before six in the morning and arrived after three in the afternoon.

Jian Yunxi's parents did not go to rest, but took Jian Yunxi directly to Peking University. Although it was a day earlier than the reporting date, the school was full of senior volunteers welcoming the new students.

"Which department is this student from?"

A girl in a volunteer uniform asked Jian Yunxi enthusiastically.

"Hello, senior sister, I'm from the law department."

"Come with me, junior sister. The law department is over here. A senior will help you carry your luggage over."

The volunteer seniors were very enthusiastic. They helped Jian Yunxi carry her luggage and carried her backpack.

Jian Yunxi's dormitory was very close to the east gate of Peking University. Jian Yunxi and his parents followed the two seniors into the dormitory building.

"Junior, the accommodation environment in our department is quite good. They are all four-person rooms." The tall senior was very enthusiastic and had dimples when he smiled.

The other senior wore glasses and was a bit taciturn, and didn't say much along the way.

Jian Yunxi's dormitory is on the third floor. None of his roommates have arrived yet, and the beds are allocated according to student numbers.

"Schoolgirl, you are student number 8, this is your bed."

Jian Yunxi and his parents quickly thanked the two boys.

Ms. Li Meiling also consulted about issues such as water, electricity, and food, and asked how to apply for a campus card. The tall senior students answered her questions patiently.

"Schoolmate, please leave me your contact information. We'll add my Penguin ID. If you have any questions, you can contact me directly."

Jian Yunxi quickly took out his cell phone and said, "Senior, my name is Jian Yunxi. I will send you my number after I get my campus card. My Penguin number is..."

"Okay, junior, my name is Wu Tong, and the one who is silent is Lin Yi, but don't worry, he is a nice guy."

The senior student with glasses named Lin Yi glared at Wu Tong, and Jian Yunxi laughed.

"Thank you, seniors. There's nothing I can say to express my gratitude. I'll give you two bottles of drinks. It's too hot. Thank you for troubling you."

When Jian Yunxi arrived, her father bought a few bottles of drinks. They drank some on the way and there were exactly two bottles left.

Wu Tong and Lin Yi refused to accept it, but at the strong request of Ms. Li Meiling, they accepted it with blushing faces.

"Well, uncle and aunt, junior sister Yunxi, call me if you have anything, we will go back first."

After they left, Ms. Li Meiling kept praising Jian Yunxi, "After all, the students in this school are of high quality. When I sent your cousin to school a few years ago, no one paid any attention to her."

Jian Yunxi said that her mother's behavior was entirely due to preconceived notions.

There was a bed and a desk underneath in the dormitory, and there was a separate wardrobe next to it. Jian Yunxi felt that it was bigger than the dormitory she had in her previous life. She laughed at the thought of this and even talked about her mother. Wasn't she a little prejudiced as well?

She and her parents were busy for a long time. At noon, they wiped and tidied the bed and hung the clothes in the suitcase in the closet. There was also a storage cabinet on the balcony. Jian Yunxi guessed that it was used for suitcases, so she put her suitcase in it.

The school provided a power strip and a desk lamp, a basin, a kettle and bedding.

Ms. Li Meiling looked around and discussed with Jian Yunxi for a long time to see if there was anything else that needed to be purchased. They would have to go to the supermarket later.

After the family of three finished their work, it was already dark. Jian Yunxi had not yet reported in and had no meal card, so they could only find a random restaurant outside the school. Of course, the food was very average.

Jian Yunxi's parents planned to find a hotel nearby to rest for a while, and then go back after Jian Yunxi reported in the next day. After Jian Yunxi settled his parents, he returned to the dormitory.

"Huh? Hello!"

After Jian Yunxi opened the door, he found that a roommate had come into the dormitory.

"Ah, hello, my name is Guo Xinyue, and I'm from Tianjin."

"Hello, my name is Jian Yunxi, and I'm from Jiangsu."

Jian Yunxi saw that Guo Xinyue was dressed very avant-garde, with big curly hair, oversized earrings, a belly-baring outfit, and exaggerated makeup on her face. She guessed that this girl must have a very good personality.

"How can I help you?"

"It's okay, my parents have helped me with it."

Jian Yunxi's bed sheet was brought from home, it was light yellow plaid, and her father also hung a mosquito net for her, worried that there would still be mosquitoes at this time.

She saw that Guo Xinyue’s bed sheet was sky blue with cartoon patterns on it.

"By the way, Jian Yunxi, I'm not staying at school tonight. You won't be scared living alone, right?" Guo Xinyue felt that the other two roommates would not come back today. Looking at Jian Yunxi, she always felt that she was a timid person.

In order to make it easier to carry her luggage, Jian Yunxi wore a simple T-shirt and straight jeans, paired with white sneakers. Her hair was tied into a simple ponytail, and her face was as white as jade, looking very beautiful.

"It's okay, don't worry." Jian Yunxi guessed correctly, this roommate was really warm and easy to get along with.

The girls' dormitory has a separate bathroom with a shower, which is very convenient. After taking a shower, Jian Yunxi washed her clothes.

She looked and saw that there was a public washing machine on the first floor of the dormitory. She planned to use it when she could no longer wash her thick winter clothes.

When she lay on the bed and picked up her phone, she found that the message she sent to Lu Yang in the morning had not been replied.

It’s Clouds, Not Moon: Lu Yang, I’m leaving. See you in Beijing.

It’s a cloud, not a moon: I’m too tired after a busy day, so I’m going to sleep first. I have to report tomorrow.

To be honest, Jian Yunxi felt a little aggrieved, but she adjusted quickly.

I heard that Lu Yang trains until very late every day and has a competition soon after school starts, so it seems like there is a jet lag between them recently. Often, Lu Yang's messages come after she has gone to sleep.
