Chapter 8: Fuck the Male Lead

In the eyes of these people, "Xie Yun" is a mama's girl, a Voldemort, and a troublemaker. After marrying the male protagonist, she always misses her parents' home and goes back to help with housework when she has nothing to do, but is lazy and slacking off at her husband's home. She used to get full work points at her parents' home, but only 8 at her husband's home. She also always talks about giving birth, raising children, and doing housework.

They said that "Xie Yun" was stingy and petty. She was dissatisfied with her husband sending all his salary to his mother-in-law. She always made trouble and found fault at home. She was disrespectful to her parents-in-law, had bad relations with her sisters-in-law, did not care about her younger sister-in-law, and had no sense of the overall situation.

The reason why she had heavy bleeding when giving birth to her third child was because she had a bad temper. Her sister-in-law was sick, and her mother-in-law took a can of malted milk sent by her family to her sister-in-law's room. She was so angry that she gave birth more than ten days prematurely, and eventually died of anger.

They said that "Xie Yun" was just being too careless. The mother-in-law only took it and gave it to her sister-in-law to eat for two days, and she didn't say she would not return it to her. She was really stingy.

They said Xie Yun was an unlucky woman who married into a blessed family, unable to enjoy the Zheng family's blessings, and so died young. Even though Zheng Guoqiang's salary was given to his mother, and even though she spent it on the whole family, showing no favoritism towards Xie Yun, nor did she mistreat her, she still harbored a grudge, which was truly inconsiderate.

The three sons born to "Xie Yun" often heard family members talk about their mother like this, and they had no good feelings towards her. They never visited their grandmother and uncle, nor did they go to visit their biological mother's grave. They were only concerned with getting close to people on their father's side and were determined to recognize their stepmother as their biological mother.

Zhang Ruifeng and Xie Shen are the worst relatives in the book. They always use the excuse of visiting their grandchildren/nephews to ask for money, but when they realize they can't get any benefits, they completely cut off contact.

Xie Yun was speechless.

She came to this world, received all the memories of the original owner, and also understood the characters of Zhang Ruifeng and Xie Shen. Even in her dreams, she did not believe that the original owner was such a person, and did not believe that Zhang Ruifeng and Xie Shen were such excellent relatives.

Xie Yun could feel that Zhang Ruifeng and Xie Shen's care and love for her came from the heart. If she got married and her child died during childbirth, Zhang Ruifeng and Xie Shen would only care for and take care of the child she left behind. How could they possibly ask for help?

This is so insulting!

Xie Yun was so angry that he woke up.

She stared wide-eyed for a moment, then breathed a sigh of relief. She had come here at the right time; nothing had happened yet. She would never, as the book described, marry Zheng Guoqiang, become a fertility tool, and be cursed after her death.

no way!

Fuck the male lead!

After thinking for a while, Xie Yun fell asleep again.

The next morning, before daybreak, Zhang Ruifeng got up, scrubbed the pumpkin, squeezed it with her hands to remove the water, put some oil in the pan, cracked two eggs into the pan and stir-fried them, then mixed them with the pumpkin filling, added a little salt and some pepper powder.

The salt is coarse salt that I buy, and I crush it repeatedly with a rolling pin until it becomes fine powder. The peppercorns are wild peppercorns picked from the mountains, which I stir-fry and also crush with a rolling pin. I add a little bit of it when mixing stuffing in dishes to enhance the flavor.

While she was busy, Xie Yun also got up. He first lit the fire, put water in the pot, added a steamer, washed his hands, and helped her make the buns. The vegetarian buns only took fifteen minutes to make.

During this time, they wash, clean the yard, feed the pigs, chickens and rabbits, and are always busy, always looking around for work.

After a while, Xie Shen also got up.

"Mom, sister."

The young man was dazed and walked towards the stove following the smell.

Xie Yun grabbed him and said, "Go wash your hands, face, and brush your teeth first. Wake up. The buns will be ready soon."

Xie Shen rubbed his eyes, shook his head, walked to the basin, splashed cold water on his face, and only started brushing his teeth and washing his face after he woke up.

The homemade steamed buns were large and well stuffed. Although the ingredients were simple, they tasted good. Xie Yun and Xie Shen each ate one and a half, and Zhang Ruifeng ate two.

Just as they were finishing their meal, the gong sounded, signaling the start of work. Xie Yun took out two four-button bottles, filled them with water, and added some spring water from the space. She gave one to Zhang Ruifeng and carried the other herself.

As for Xie Shen, he didn't need it. He could run home to drink water, or go find his sister and mother. If he brought the clay pot, he would lose it.

The family of three went out together, locked the door, and walked towards the field.

Today's work is still to break corn.

Xie Yun armed himself, carried the basket on his back and went to the field. When the basket was full, he carried it out and poured it onto the cart waiting at the edge of the field, then went back to continue breaking the fruits.

All the livestock and carts of the production team went out together, traveling back and forth between the fields and the threshing grounds.

The fields were bustling with activity. Children walked the roads carrying dung baskets, collecting livestock manure and carrying them to the production team's manure pit. Each basket earned them five work points.

The success of crops depends entirely on manure, so we cannot afford to waste even a little bit of it. At this time, when the supply of chemical fertilizers is insufficient, organic fertilizers become particularly important.

Xie Yun went in and out between the ridges of the fields, carrying out basket after basket of corn. She actually felt a sense of accomplishment.

The aunties and grandmas were chatting while they were working, saying that this year's harvest was good and each person could get about ten more pounds of corn.

"This year, the wheat was distributed less. It rained right before harvest, and a lot of it was ruined. Each person got less than 70 kilograms. This is just the right time to make up for it."

Others said, "I think the sweet potatoes are growing well this year. After we harvest them, we'll quickly give some to the pigs so they can grow fatter and sell for a few more dollars at the end of the year."

Throughout the year, the best time for pigs to eat is when sweet potatoes are harvested. Farmers are reluctant to feed them other food, and at most they will give them cornmeal, but they are still willing to give them sweet potatoes.
