Chapter 459 What Are You Worrying About?

Zhao Wei led the God of War and hurried towards Yushudun with brisk steps. As for the chaos in Lijiaao, what did it have to do with him? It was all their own fault.

He just wanted to teach them a lesson and didn't even think about killing anyone.

Unlike those people, they set fire directly to the mountain and almost burned down the entire Elm Tree.

It was paid back, and finally the fire was changed, and the Rat Village was burned down.

The night wind blew on his cheeks, bringing a hint of warmth. At this moment, he was already covered in sweat and felt indescribably sad.

"God of War, let's go home quickly and I'll get you a big chicken drumstick to eat."

The God of War might not understand much else, but the three words "big chicken legs" are more useful than anything else.

His eyes sparkled as he looked at Zhao Wei expectantly.

Zhao Wei touched the God of War's head and said with a smile: "Let's go home quickly, hahahaha..."

In contrast to his joy, chaos was still escalating in Lijiaao Village.

The old ox ran into the fields and turned into a wild buffalo. When the weather was very hot the next day, it ran into the mountains to escape the heat. Then...after that, there was no trace of this ox in the world.

As for the chickens, they were running around everywhere like crazy.

Some flew onto the wall, some hid in the firewood pile, and some even ran into other people's yards and jumped directly into the big iron pot, making people very angry.

As for the man who said "jail is easy", he was even more miserable. His two pigs ran into the village and one fell into a manure pit. Although they didn't drown, they smelled very bad.

It is a real ordeal to rescue a pig from a manure pit.

What's more, the most terrifying thing is that after getting covered in shit, there is not even water to wash off. The stench will linger for a long time. Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit last year's New Year's Eve dinner.

At the entrance of Yushudun Village, Zhao Wei saw a familiar figure under the old locust tree at the entrance of the village. It was Erxiao.

Zhao Wei paused when he saw Erxiao, and asked with a smile, "Erxiao, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? I remember you are not on patrol tonight."

As the leader of a militia team, Erxiao doesn't have to patrol every day, otherwise his body will be exhausted.

Generally speaking, it is a rotation every two days, depending on the situation.

Right now, several places in the village have been hit, and the security situation is at its worst, so we do it every other day.

Erxiao had an anxious look on his face and saw Zhao Wei as if he had seen a savior.

"Boss, we've finally got you. If you don't come back, we'll be worried and will go look for you."

Zhao Wei raised his eyebrows, but still said: "What can happen to me? You are just worrying about nothing. Take good care of yourself, which is better than anything else."

"By the way, you don't have to work so hard these two days. I guess those people won't come to cause trouble again."

"Ah? President, what happened? Can you tell me?"

"Tsk tsk... Keep it a secret. You should take a rest. Go to Lijiaao and ask around tomorrow and you'll find out."

Erxiao scratched the back of his head, his eyes full of curiosity: "We have to wait until tomorrow? President, please stop teasing me and reveal something."

He looked behind Zhao Wei and saw the God of War panting with his tongue hanging out, and a dead leaf stuck on his neck. He couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Where did the God of War go crazy following you?"

Zhao Wei slapped his hand away: "Don't ask. Go back to sleep quickly. We have to go to the experimental field to check on the rice seedlings tomorrow."

He deliberately put on a stern face, but he couldn't hide the smile on the corner of his mouth - although he was exhausted and sweaty after the trouble in Lijiaao just now, he felt very cheerful in his heart.

Erxiao wanted to ask more, but Zhao Wei pushed him towards the village: "Let's go, it will be dawn soon."

Seeing that he couldn't get any information out of her, he could only say angrily, "By the way, my mother made some mung bean soup and saved it for you. Can I get it for you?"

"No, I'm going to go home and take a shower. I'm not in the mood to eat these. You can give them to the patrolmen. They're working very hard."

Zhao Wei waved his hand and said, "You should also go back quickly and ask Huang Mao and the others to retreat. It's useless to keep guarding them."

After watching Erxiao's figure disappear at the alley entrance, Zhao Wei took the God of War home.

When I was almost at the gate of the courtyard, I saw Yunxiu standing in the corridor, looking around, holding a palm-leaf fan in her hand.

Hearing the footsteps, she hurried over to greet him: "Finally you're back, it's been so long, huh!"

Zhao Wei tied the God of War to a wooden stake in the corner of the yard, and scratched her nose with a smile: "Why are you worried? I'm fine." He lowered his head and sniffed himself, frowning, "Wow, this smell is stronger than a pigpen."

Yunxiu covered her mouth and smiled: "Go in and take a shower, the hot water is ready, and I found you some clean clothes."

She turned around and went to the kitchen, but was stopped by Zhao Wei again.

"Don't be busy, take a rest first." He looked at her still flat belly, his eyes full of tenderness, "Don't always take care of me, your current task is to take good care of the two little guys in your belly, do you understand?"

Yunxiu felt a sweet feeling in her heart. Even though the couple were already sweating profusely, they were still reluctant to push each other away.

Zhao Wei washed quickly, and when he came out drying his hair, he saw Yunxiu sitting next to the fan to cool off, as if she was having trouble falling asleep.

The dried apricots were brought in, as were the ice to relieve the fever and the fan, but Yunxiu looked even more restless.

Zhao Wei couldn't quite understand this woman.

"Why aren't you asleep yet?" Zhao Wei walked over and sat down next to her.

Yunxiu looked up at him with a hint of worry in her eyes: "I don't know, I...ah...is it very troublesome? I don't want this to happen, but I can't control it!"

"Don't keep anything in your heart, be sure to tell me. Anyway, I'll find a way to solve it with me here."

Yunxiu nodded and leaned on Zhao Wei's shoulder: "Well, I believe you. Let's wait and see. It will always be better with you around."

The two of them just sat there quietly, the fan whirring, the yard was very quiet with only the occasional chirping of insects.

After a while, Yunxiu yawned. Zhao Wei saw this and said, "Are you sleepy? Let's go back to the house and sleep."

"Yeah." Yunxiu responded and stood up.

Zhao Wei supported her and walked into the house.

After returning to the room, Yunxiu fell asleep quickly, probably because she was really tired.

Zhao Wei was not sleepy however. He sat on the edge of the bed, looking at Yunxiu's sleeping face, feeling full of doubts.

The next morning, Erxiao couldn't wait to run to Lijiaao to inquire about the news. When he came back, his face was full of surprise and excitement.

"President, you don't know, Lijiaao is very lively!"

Erxiao told Zhao Wei everything he had heard.

"All the livestock in their village ran away, and two piglets fell into the manure pit. After a whole night of hard work, the whole village is now exhausted."

Zhao Wei smiled and said nothing.

Erxiao added: "I heard from people in their village that this is retribution. Who made them always want to bully our village?"

"Okay, just know it, don't spread it around." Zhao Wei urged, "Let's just focus on our own business!"
