Chapter 107 Taking the train back to Su City

Before leaving the next day, Liu Yanran still found Jiang Qi alone and gave Jiang Qi all the money and jade pendants she had collected. Jiang Qi looked at these things with a puzzled look.

"Sister Yanran, why did you suddenly give me these things?" Although he had just bled, he still had the money to support Cao Yue.

Liu Yanran gently placed the banknotes and jade pendant in his hands, and then slowly recounted what had happened, including what she had heard about Jiang Qi's life experience. As for the process of her getting the money back, she just briefly mentioned it.

After Jiang Qi finished listening, he was silent for a long time. His eyes revealed a complex emotion: surprise, confusion, and a hint of anticipation.

Liu Yanran sat quietly beside him, giving him time to think and accept.

Finally, Jiang Qi asked, "Sister Yanran, is everything you said true? My life story..."

Liu Yanran nodded and said softly, "I won't lie to you. I heard it with my own ears. Besides, I think this jade pendant is very important to you."

Jiang Qi held the jade pendant tightly, as if he could feel the memories and stories it carried. An inexplicable emotion welled up in his heart, and his gratitude to Liu Yanran was beyond words.

"Thank you, Sister Yanran. I don't know how to repay you, but I will always remember this kindness in my heart." Jiang Qi said sincerely.

Liu Yanran smiled and shook her head, indicating that she didn't need to worry. She knew that for a person, understanding one's own life experience was a very important thing. She was just doing what she should do.

"Actually, I don't know what this jade pendant means, but maybe it can help you find some answers. In any case, I hope you can find your family smoothly." Liu Yanran encouraged.

Jiang Qi nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. He decided to treasure the jade pendant and search for clues to unravel the mystery of his life. At the same time, he resolved to continue working hard to become a stronger person, to protect himself and those around him.

After a while, Jiang Qi slowly raised his head, looking at Liu Yanran in front of him with a firm and persistent gaze. His voice was low but full of strength: "Sister Yanran, thank you for telling me the truth. After so many years, I finally understand why I am so unwelcome. It turns out that I am not their biological child, which also explains why they are always so indifferent and disgusted with me. But now, I don't want to dwell on the pain and hurt of the past. I just want to protect Yueyue and spend the rest of my life with her."

Liu Yanran nodded slightly, a relieved smile on her face. She knew that Jiang Qi had made up his mind to say goodbye to the past and start a new life.

So, she said softly, "No matter what decision you make, I firmly believe that Yueyue will fully support you. Since this money can't change those people's attitudes, you might as well use it to buy real estate as an investment. That way, you two can have a stable home in the future."

Jiang Qi listened carefully to Liu Yanran's suggestion, and a wave of gratitude welled up in his heart. He knew the feasibility of this proposal. After all, the money originally belonged to him. It would be better to use it to buy real estate instead of giving it to those ungrateful people.

After some careful consideration, Jiang Qi finally adopted Liu Yanran's advice and quickly put it into action after returning to the border. He used the money to buy a spacious and bright house, laying a solid foundation for his and Cao Yue's future.

As time went by, the border region gradually developed into a tourist destination. The value of the house Jiang Qi had purchased doubled, and he was grateful countless times that he had followed Liu Yanran's advice.

After breakfast, they hurried to catch the train. Because the journey was long, Liu Yanran had reserved soft sleeper seats for everyone so they could get some rest. But when they finally found their way to the carriage with their luggage, they discovered their lower berth had been taken by a woman with a child.

Liu Yanran looked at the woman and the child beside her, feeling a little helpless. She approached the woman and politely said, "Hello, we've reserved this lower berth on the soft sleeper. Could you please give it up?" She even produced her ticket as proof. However, the woman remained unconvinced, insisting that the seat was hers because she had been there first.

Liu Yanran was speechless. She tried to reason with the woman, hoping she would understand that the seat was indeed reserved by them and should be returned to them. However, not only did the woman not listen, but her attitude became even more adamant, and she even started to make a loud noise, attracting the attention of the surrounding passengers.

Liu Yanran felt extremely embarrassed. She really didn't want to start an argument in front of so many people, and she didn't want to affect the other passengers' mood. So, she decided to ask the conductor to help solve the problem. After all, this was a public place, and she couldn't let others occupy the seat at will.

At that moment, the conductor finally arrived. After understanding what had happened, he looked at the woman seriously and asked her to show her ticket to verify her seat information. The woman was obviously reluctant, but she finally took out her ticket.

The conductor took the ticket and carefully checked it, his expression gradually becoming grim. It turned out that the woman's ticket indicated she was supposed to be sitting in the hard seat car, which was quite far from the soft sleeper car she was currently in. Such an obvious mistake made it hard to believe she had made it unintentionally.

Faced with irrefutable evidence, the woman began to act pitiful, trying to garner sympathy. She sobbed, "It's really not easy for a woman like me to raise a child! The child couldn't stay in the hard-seat carriage and kept crying. I had no choice but to come here. You young people can endure hardships, so please don't make things difficult for us, an orphan and a widow..." Her tears flowed like a broken dam, as if she had suffered a great deal of injustice.
