Chapter 122 Liu Chuncheng and Wang Guihong finally divorced

With Liu Chuncheng now in control of the family's finances, Wang Guihong rarely finds the opportunity to embezzle money and send it back to her parents. Even grocery shopping is done by Liu Chuncheng himself, with virtually no money ever passing through her hands. However, she lives a comfortable life and shares in the family's meat meals, so she's not worried.

However, her lack of anxiety did not mean that others were not anxious. In fact, her older and younger brothers were not hardworking people, and her older sister rarely returned home after marrying and moving to another village, making her difficult to rely on.

It's no exaggeration to say that the entire family depended on Wang Guihong's financial support. To help their two youngest sons get married, they even built a new house, relying entirely on her remittances to pay for the construction. When the remittance didn't arrive the first month, they assumed it was a delay of a few days. But when it still hadn't arrived the following month, the family began to worry.

Liu Yanran was secretly delighted to learn all this, but she felt it wasn't exciting enough, so she decided to stir things up. She called Qiao Anna and asked her to ask her colleague from the same village as Wang Guihong to send a letter home. The letter, naturally, boasted about how wonderful Wang Guihong's life was in the city, how she could eat meat every day, and so on.

As expected, the letter completely ignited the Wang family's anger. They immediately sent Wang Guihong's two younger brothers to the house to demand the money. However, when they arrived, they happened to run into Deng Jingxuan's assistant, Liu Qingshan.

Liu Qingshan was a very good person. He took out twenty yuan and sent the two men away.

Speaking of Liu Qingshan, he was actually handpicked by Deng Jingxuan. A native Beijinger and the younger brother of Deng Jingxuan's wife, he was intelligent, sociable, and highly capable at work, despite only having attended junior high school.

In 1967, he actively responded to the national call to go to the countryside to work as a sent-down youth. Unfortunately, he fell off a cliff in an accident and broke his leg. After treatment, he was left with a rickety leg, but as long as he walked slowly, it was hardly noticeable to the average person.

Intrigued, Liu Yanran decided to delve deeper into the background of assistant Liu Qingshan. After some searching, she finally uncovered some clues. It turned out that Liu Qingshan had once worked in Wang Guihong's village, and even more surprising, they had a previous romantic relationship.

In that era, relationships were viewed very strictly, and even something as simple as holding hands was considered taboo. Despite this, Liu Qingshan and Wang Guihong fell in love and began discussing marriage. However, when it came to the betrothal gift, the Wang family demanded a whopping 88 yuan. For Liu Qingshan at the time, this was an astronomical sum; he couldn't even afford 8 yuan. Therefore, the marriage was shelved.

When Liu Qingshan first accompanied Deng Jingxuan to the Liu family courtyard to deliver a color TV, he missed the opportunity to meet Wang Guihong because he did not enter the house. On the two subsequent visits, Deng Jingxuan went to the Liu family courtyard alone, so Liu Qingshan never saw Wang Guihong.

It was not until this time when Liu Qingshan and Deng Jingxuan stayed at the Liu family in Sichuan Province that he accidentally discovered that the young wife of this family was actually his former lover Wang Guihong.

Her eyes became dull and lifeless, no longer as energetic as before, replaced by a deep sense of vicissitudes and helplessness. Just one look at her, and she couldn't help but burst into tears.

Later, when he accidentally ran into her brother who came to see her, he found out that her family had been squeezing her money and asking her for money every month. Without hesitation, he took out 20 yuan and gave it to her brother, then drove him away.

Her eyes were red and she said with a choked voice, "I really can't take another penny from home. If this goes on, Liu Chuncheng will divorce me." He was very confused, because as far as he knew, the Liu family was not short of money, and occasionally helping his daughter-in-law's family should not have much impact on them.

However, Wang Guihong told him that she had been waiting for him to come back and marry her, but she accidentally fell into the river and was rescued by Liu Chuncheng. Under the pressure of rumors, she had to marry him.

Then, she was tricked by her family into drinking drugs, having sex with Liu Chuncheng and becoming pregnant. She felt that she was no longer worthy of him, so she never asked about his news again.

Seeing his former lover in tears, Liu Qingshan's heart was touched, and he couldn't bear it. He couldn't help but cross the line and gently hugged her, as if wanting to give her some warmth and comfort.

At the same time, he stuffed five brand new big unity notes into her hands, telling her that this was his gift. Today, Liu Qingshan is no longer the poor boy he used to be. He earns more than 100 yuan a month, and his financial situation has greatly improved. He is no longer embarrassed by money.

He loved her sincerely, however, fate always seemed to like playing tricks on people, and they missed each other. Although he is a widower now, Wang Guihong has a husband and children, and he cannot do anything against his conscience.

However, Liu Qingshan accidentally discovered that Liu Chuncheng and Wang Guihong were not like ordinary couples. Even though he went home every day after school, Liu Chuncheng and Wang Guihong slept in separate rooms. He witnessed Wang Guihong crying secretly many times, and he couldn't help but feel an indescribable anger and pity in his heart.

Finally, Liu Qingshan could no longer suppress his inner impulse. He walked up to Wang Guihong and firmly asked her if she was willing to divorce and follow him away from here, live in hiding somewhere else, and live a better life.

It must be said that Wang Guihong's heart began to waver. For Liu Chuncheng, she was more calculating; but for Liu Qingshan, it was the first heartbeat of her teenage years, sincere and pure.
