Chapter 9 Rescued

Liu Yanran stood quietly in the valley, gazing blankly at the unfamiliar surroundings, a sense of confusion welling up in her heart. She had no idea how far this valley was from the military family compound, and she had no idea how to get back to that familiar place.

After taking a deep breath, Liu Yanran decided to go into the space to rest for a while, and then come out to explore and find a way back after her mental state recovered.

After entering the space, Liu Yanran quickly took out some food and water and simply filled her stomach. Then, she gently closed her eyes and tried to regulate her breathing rhythm, trying to gradually calm the anxiety and uneasiness in her heart.

After a while, Liu Yanran clearly felt that her physical strength had recovered, so she slowly stood up and prepared to leave the space to explore. She opened the door of the space with her hands and feet, and stepped out carefully, leaving this mysterious and peaceful space.

As soon as she stepped out of the space, a fresh and pleasant air blew in her face, and the bright sunshine fell on her body. Liu Yanran's mood instantly became cheerful.

She looked around and found herself in a valley surrounded by high mountains and lush trees. She didn't know which direction to go, so she relied on her intuition and experience to choose a direction that seemed easier to go.

She walked along the valley path for a while when she suddenly heard a loud noise. Startled, she quickly hid behind a large tree and observed what was happening outside. She saw a group of people in military uniforms marching towards her. Their steps were orderly and their slogans were loud. They were obviously a well-trained army.

Liu Yanran was overjoyed, knowing she had found her savior. She quickly emerged from behind the tree and ran towards the troops. As she ran, she shouted, "Help! Help!"

The soldiers heard her cry for help, stopped immediately and looked in her direction. They saw a young woman running towards them, her face full of fear and helplessness.

Gu Shijing was the commander of this unit. He saw Liu Yanran's expression and his heart tightened. He quickly strode forward and asked with concern, "Comrade Liu, why are you here? What happened?"

Liu Yanran heaved a sigh of relief when she saw Gu Shijing. She quickly replied, "Deputy Battalion Commander Gu, I was originally going up the mountain to pick mushrooms, but I accidentally fell down and sprained my ankle. Now I don't know how to get back to the family compound. Can you help me?"

Hearing this, Gu Shijing immediately understood the situation. He quickly said, "Of course! But this place is quite dangerous. We have to escort you back to the army first." After that, he carefully helped Liu Yanran up and ordered the team to continue moving forward.

Along the way, Gu Shijing constantly comforted Liu Yanran, telling her not to be afraid and that they would definitely send her back safely. Liu Yanran felt Gu Shijing's care and love, and her heart was moved. She felt that although this man looked serious on the outside, he was full of warmth and kindness on the inside.

As time went by, Liu Yanran gradually developed a special feeling for Gu Shijing. This feeling was not only gratitude, but also a deep dependence and trust. Gu Shijing was also unconsciously attracted by Liu Yanran's strength and courage, which made him more determined in his inner thoughts.

Finally, they arrived at the gate of the military family compound. Liu Yanran looked at the familiar environment in front of her, and an indescribable excitement surged in her heart. She turned her head, her eyes gleaming with gratitude, and said to Gu Shijing, "Thank you, Deputy Battalion Commander Gu. If it weren't for you, I really don't know what I would do."

Gu Shijing nodded, a gentle smile on his face. He replied softly, "Comrade Liu, you're welcome. This is what we should do. You should be more careful in the future and don't go into the mountains alone. If you get hurt, there won't be anyone around to help you."

Liu Yanran nodded slightly, her eyes firm as she said, "I understand. Thank you for your reminder."

After saying this, she slowly turned around and walked lightly into the military family compound. Halfway through, she suddenly stopped and looked back at Gu Shijing. At that moment, her eyes revealed deep gratitude and admiration.

As expected, no matter when or where, soldiers always provide people with an endless sense of security. Like an impenetrable Great Wall of Steel, they safeguard the peace of the nation and its people. And the handsome soldiers are truly eye-catching, making one sigh at the extraordinary talents that have been dedicated to the nation.

Although Liu Yanran had been deceived by a scumbag in her previous life, she had no intention of touching the realm of love again. However, when faced with such an outstanding soldier, her heart still couldn't help but ripple, and she secretly admired him.

Liu Yanran walked into the family compound and returned home. She sat on the sofa, her mind racing. She didn't even respond when her mother spoke to her.

Thinking of Gu Shijing's handsome face and gentle words, Liu Yanran's face turned red involuntarily.

"What's wrong with me..." she muttered to herself, "No, I can't think about it anymore."

She decided to sort herself out, so she got up and took a shower.

When she walked out of the bathroom, she found that there was a guest at home, that was Gu Shijing. He was holding ointment and some nutritional supplements in his hand, and looking at Liu Yanran with a smile.

"Comrade Liu, I came to see if your injury has healed." Gu Shijing said, putting down everything he was holding.

Liu Yanran's heartbeat quickened, and she didn't know what to say. It was Cao Cuilan who finally noticed Liu Yanran's injured foot, which was now red and swollen. "Ouch, Yanran, how are you injured? Come sit down."

Liu Yanran nodded, and her eyes met Gu Shijing's. A special atmosphere filled the air.

"Um...thank you for coming to see me." Liu Yanran finally broke the silence.

Gu Shijing smiled and said, "You're welcome. This is what I should do. If you need any help, you can always tell me."

"Then I'll trouble you, Deputy Battalion Commander Gu." Cao Cuilan said from the side.

Gu Shijing helped Liu Yanran check the wound and then gently applied ointment.

"Try to move less these days, apply the medicine on time, and you will be fine soon." His voice was very gentle, which made Liu Yanran feel warm in her heart.

"Thank you, Deputy Battalion Commander Gu." Liu Yanran lowered her head and said shyly.

"Don't be so polite. I'm older than you. If you don't mind, just call me Brother Gu." Gu Shijing said with a smile.

"Brother Gu..." Liu Yanran murmured softly, a blush appearing on her cheeks.

Gu Shijing looked up at Liu Yanran, their eyes met, and both of them looked away shyly.

"Then I won't bother you anymore. I'll go back first." Gu Shijing stood up and said goodbye to Liu Yanran and Cao Cuilan.

"Okay, goodbye." Liu Yanran watched Gu Shijing leave, feeling an indescribable feeling in her heart.
