Chapter 443: A very courageous young man
Han Zhengping accompanied Gu Siqing to class until the final exam. Slowly, some of his information began to trickle out, such as his status as a former International Mathematical Olympiad champion and his current graduate studies at Harvard.
Therefore, most girls in Kyoto envy Gu Siqing to death. Who doesn’t want to have a handsome, rich and loyal academic partner?
Most of the boys who originally had some feelings for Gu Siqing gave up the idea and lamented that they could not compare to her.
In short, Han Zhengping achieved his goal.
After the final exams, it was vacation time. Gu Siqing planned to tidy up her room, mainly to install a large bookcase in it. Her books were now piled on the table.
When she brought this up, Gu Jianguo was about to ask someone to install it for her, but before he could finish his words, Han Zhengping said, "I'm on vacation anyway, so I'll do it for you."
When Gu Jianguo heard him say this, he simply waved his hand and told him to do it. He was relieved because there were a lot of things to do at the end of the year.
"What kind of bookcase do you want?" Han Zhengping stood in Gu Siqing's room, wondering where to put the bookcase. Gu Siqing's room was large, more than 40 square meters, so it would be no problem to make a study room out of it.
Gu Siqing walked around her room and pointed to the south wall and said, "Let's make this wall into a bookcase. Move the sofa away and put a desk here."
After Han Zhengping heard her, he took off his cotton-padded jacket and used a ruler to measure his size. He was wearing a light gray sweater, the sleeves rolled up to reveal his sturdy forearms. Black pants made his long legs look even straighter.
Looking at his busy figure, Gu Siqing suddenly felt that her boy had really grown up and become a man.
"What are you thinking about? Take the note size."
Hearing his voice, Gu Siqing came back to her senses and quickly took a pen and paper to his side, working with him. After measuring the size, she asked, "How tall are you now?"
Han Zhengping smiled and said, "Just measure it and you'll know."
As he spoke, he bent down and placed one end of the ruler under his feet. Gu Siqing stood on the sofa and placed her hand on his head. Seeing that he was 1.83 meters tall, she said, "It seems that foreign steaks are very nourishing. They have grown a lot taller."
Han Zhengping laughed heartily, then stretched out his arms to pick her up from the sofa, walked around the room before putting her down and said, "Look, you're much stronger now."
Gu Siqing laughed out loud at what he said, patted her arm and said, "You're quite strong, young man."
Han Zhengping saw that she was teasing him, so he reached out and ruffled her hair. Gu Siqing saw that her hair was messed up by him and hit him.
After a while of arguing, they finally took their measurements and headed for the furniture market. But once they arrived, they looked around for a long time but couldn't find anything suitable. The finished pieces didn't even match, so they decided to make them now. But Gu Siqing also complained about the smell of the new furniture.
Finally, Han Zhengping said, "The bookcase in my study should be about the same size. Move it to your room."
Gu Siqing felt that it was not very good. How could it be like this? But Han Zhengping insisted and drove her to the Su family. When the two got out of the car, the housekeeper came over and greeted Gu Siqing with a smile: "Hello, Miss Siqing."
Gu Siqing was a little uncomfortable with his address, but she still smiled and replied, "Hello."
"There's a guest at home, the eldest son of the Xu family in Hong Kong," the housekeeper said, looking at Han Zhengping, "Sir, I want you to go meet him. We're all young people, so we have something in common."
Han Zhengping hummed, then looked at Gu Siqing, "Do you want to come with us? If you don't want to go, go to my yard first."
"I'll go to your study and find a book to read." Gu Siqing didn't want to go to those social events with him. It was very boring.
"Okay, you go first, I'll be there in a while." Han Zhengping said and left with the housekeeper. Gu Siqing was very familiar with the Su family and went to Han Zhengping's yard by herself.
Here, Han Zhengping followed the housekeeper into the main hall. Su Wenshan was talking to a man in his twenties with a smile on his face. When he saw him come in, he said, "You're back. This is Yusen. He just came from Hong Kong."
Han Zhengping walked over and shook Xu Yusen's hand, then sat down to chat. There wasn't much to talk about, just some polite conversation, since it was their first meeting, after all. After sitting for a while, Xu Yusen stood up to leave, and Han Zhengping walked him to the door.
After returning, Su Wenshan told him, "It's not easy for him either. Although the Xu family business is huge, he hasn't been back home in all these years. He's been starting his own business outside. He's a very courageous young man. This time he wants to come to the mainland to invest. But sooner or later, the Xu family will be his. Xu Likang has had many children with his mistresses outside his family over the years, but they're all girls, not a single son."
But Xu Likang was conservative and believed that only his son could inherit the family business.
Han Zhengping had a general understanding of the situation in Hong Kong. The Xu family's main industry was shipping, and they were said to be known as the shipping kings in Hong Kong. The Su and Xu families were old friends, and although they didn't have much business dealings, they had always had a good relationship.
"Which industry does he want to invest in?" Han Zhengping asked.
"He means he wants to buy some land in Kyoto for real estate." Su Wenshan took a sip of tea and thought for a moment before saying, "However, it's very likely that he's buying the land to stockpile. It's clear that the mainland's real estate market hasn't been doing well in the past two years, but it definitely has huge potential in the future."
Therefore, he is very optimistic about Xu Yusen, who has a long-term vision at a young age.
Han Zhengping was fully focused on his research and didn't know much about the domestic market economy and foreign real estate markets, so he didn't respond to Su Wenshan's words.
Seeing this, Su Wenshan asked, "Did Xiao Si come with you?"
"Yes, she wants to install a bookshelf in her room. We went to the furniture market, but couldn't find anything suitable, so I thought of giving her the one in my study first." Han Zhengping said.
Su Wenshan was stunned for a moment after hearing his words, and then said, "Just find someone to move over."
Anyway, the study was not used often, so he stayed at Gu's house almost every day after returning to China.
Han Zhengping nodded and stood up to go back to his yard. Su Wenshan looked at his back and sighed. He was a little afraid that his son would tell him that he wanted to be Gu Jianguo's son-in-law.
Arriving at his own courtyard, Han Zhengping pushed open the door to the study and saw Gu Siqing curled up on the sofa reading a book. The little ball was curled up in a corner of the sofa, like a well-behaved cat, and anyone who saw it would feel their heart melt.
He walked over and sat next to her, tilted his head to glance at the words on the book in her hand, and said, "Is it good?"
Gu Siqing was so engrossed in watching that she didn't even look up when she heard him speak, but just nodded. Han Zhengping chuckled and moved closer to watch with her, "Where are you looking at?"
"Here." Gu Siqing pointed on the book, and Han Zhengping also looked from there.
The two were very close, Gu Siqing unconsciously leaned on his shoulder, and he gently hugged her
The two of them snuggled together and read books for an entire afternoon.
