Chapter 605 Xia Ying Extra 1

Chapter 605 Xia Ying Extra 1

Xia Ying worked overtime today, and it was already past eight when she got off work. Because it was winter, it was already dark. She drove out of the parking lot and walked home. At this time, the streets of Kyoto were still very busy, but she felt a little lonely.

Thinking that I might be urged to go on blind dates again after returning home, I started to feel a little annoyed.

In fact, she didn't like him so much that she couldn't live without him, but it seemed that she hadn't been moved since that heart-beat in her youth. She didn't want to get married just for the sake of getting married, she didn't want to compromise, and her life didn't have to compromise.

Her mind was racing when the car suddenly jolted violently. She immediately stopped and saw the rear tire had blown out. She pulled out her cell phone to call home and have someone pick her up while she looked for someone to fix the car.

But when he pulled out his cell phone, it was dead. He looked around, but there were no phone booths and most shops were closed. Just as he was wondering what to do, a car drove by and backed up, and Zhang Ziyao got out.

"Xia Ying?" He walked over. "What's wrong? Is the car broken down?"

Xia Ying didn't expect it to be him. She felt a little sad, but she smiled and said, "It's a flat tire."

"Let me see." Zhang Ziyao walked over to the flat tire, bent over to take a look, kicked it, and then said, "Is there a spare tire?"

"Yes." Xia Ying quickly opened the trunk and the spare tire was inside.

Zhang Ziyao took out the spare tire and put it on the ground, "Just change it."

There was a toolbox in the trunk, so he took it out. Feeling it was inconvenient to work, he took off his coat and threw it in his car, then returned to change the tire.

Seeing him squatting on the ground busying himself, Xia Ying couldn't help but ask, "How come you can also repair cars?"

"When I was a secretary, my job was to drive my boss around. One time, my car broke down on the road, and I was late for work. So I learned a few basic techniques from a mechanic. Even if a major problem couldn't be fixed, I could still fix a minor one."

He kept moving his hands as he spoke. Xia Ying squatted beside him, handing him tools or something. He did have experience with car repairs, and after just over ten minutes, the car had a new tire. Seeing his hands were grimy, Xia Ying pulled a bottle of water from the car and asked him to wash them.

She poured water from the bottle onto his hands while he scrubbed them. Xia Ying suddenly remembered how he looked when he was a teenager. He was a big shot in the compound then, a great basketball player. Almost all the boys his age in the compound gathered around him.

"Are you going home or..." Zhang Ziyao asked Xia Ying after washing his hands. She came to her senses and said, "Home."

"Then let's go together." Zhang Ziyao shook the water off his hands and walked towards his car. Xia Ying also got in her car, and the two cars drove towards the government compound one after the other.

After entering the compound, the Xia family arrived first. Xia Ying rolled down the car window, looked at Zhang Ziyao, and said with a smile, "Thank you for today."

"We live in the same compound, isn't it normal to help out?" Zhang Ziyao said as he drove away, and Xia Ying also drove into the yard.

"Why are you back so late? We were all worried, and we couldn't get through to you on the phone." Feng Hailan asked worriedly when she saw Xia Ying coming back.

"The car broke down on the road." Xia Ying said as she poured herself a glass of water and held the cup to warm her hands.

When Lu Shuyun heard that her car broke down, she quickly asked, "Then how did you get back?"

"I met Zhang Ziyao, and he fixed my car." Xia Ying said.

Feng Hailan said, "I didn't expect Ziyao could repair cars."

Xia Ying put down the cup and walked upstairs, "I'm going to rest."

"Okay, go quickly." Feng Hailan said and went back to the room.

Xia Ying returned to her room, took a shower and lay down on the bed, looking at the snow-white ceiling and thinking about how he bent over to repair the car. She told herself to try again, and if it still didn't work, she wouldn't have any regrets.

As for the fact that he was divorced, she didn't care.

Even though she had made the decision, Xia Ying still gave a wry smile. It was truly a trance, but if she didn't try again, she wouldn't be able to let it go completely.

Since she had decided to do it, she called Zhang Ziyao the next day to ask him out for dinner, saying she wanted to thank him for his help. Zhang Ziyao said she was too polite, saying that they were from the same compound and it was only natural for him to help, but he still agreed to have dinner together.

Xia Ying booked a Western restaurant, and he arrived on time. She thought she would find something to talk about with him; after all, although they were neighbors, they didn't interact much. But surprisingly, there was no point in finding a topic.

They first talked about the situation of her company, then his work, and also talked about some things in the compound.

When they were chatting heatedly, Gu Siqing came over with an ambiguous expression on her face. Xia Ying quickly pulled her aside and stopped her from talking any more.

After they came back, the two talked about Gu Siqing. Zhang Ziyao said, "Gu Xiaosi and Su Zhengping have been childhood sweethearts, which is great."

Xia Ying smiled and said, "Xiao Si said that she knew how to put Zhengping into his bowl a long time ago."

Zhang Ziyao laughed after hearing this, "Gu Xiaosi is indeed a writer, his words are always interesting."

Xia Ying said in her heart that if she had Xiao Si's brains before, she would not be like this now.

After the two had this meal, they didn't contact each other for a few days. Xia Ying felt that they couldn't be impatient and should take it step by step and find an opportunity to meet again in a few days.

But before she could find an excuse to meet someone, the two of them bumped into each other at the hotel. Xia Ying was meeting an actor from Hong Kong, and Zhang Ziyao was arranging a visit to Kyoto for an official from another province.

Xia Ying naturally did not miss this opportunity. The two had dinner together and then returned to the government compound together.

It was unknown whether the two of them were destined to be together or what, but they kept bumping into each other or having intersections. Even Zhang Ziyao felt that he and Xia Ying had a strong connection during this period. But he didn't think much about it, nor did he dare to think too much about it.

Xia Ying was outstanding among the girls in Kyoto in terms of appearance, family background, and ability. Many young men in Kyoto wanted to marry her, but for some reason, Xia Ying turned her down.

He had a childhood friend who he was close to, and had always liked Xia Ying. Seeing that they had been getting close recently, he wanted him to bring them together. He thought his childhood friend was really good, so he asked Xia Ying, "What do you think of Qian Taining?"

Xia Ying was stunned when she heard his words, and then she felt a bitterness in her heart. She asked, "Do you think he and I are suitable?"

There was something wrong with her voice. Zhang Ziyao thought she was not interested in Qian Taining, so he said, "If you don't like him, just pretend I didn't say anything."

"I wrote to you, many years ago."

Xia Ying looked at Zhang Ziyao's stunned expression, and her eyes couldn't help but warm. It seemed that it was time to give up. He really had no feelings for her, otherwise he wouldn't have introduced her to others.

Zhang Ziyao never thought that Xia Ying would write him a letter, he had never seen it. The most unbelievable thing was that Xia Ying actually

"When did you write me a letter? I didn't see it." Zhang Ziyao's heart was a little flustered. He had never felt this way in many years.

Xia Ying was also stunned. He hadn't even seen the letter she had written to him. Her heart was not only bitter but also powerless. It seemed that God didn't think they were in good hands.

"Before you got engaged to Tang Wei, I went to your house and put the letter in a book on your desk." Xia Ying took a deep breath, forced a smile that was uglier than crying, and said, "I thought you were divorced, so I could try harder. It seems that I..."

"Which book?" Zhang Ziyao interrupted her. He suddenly didn't want to hear what Xia Ying said next.

"How the Steel Was Tempered," Xia Ying said.

"Okay." Zhang Ziyao felt mixed emotions.
