Chapter 47 Making Money
When Zhu Qingfen came in, she greeted Gu Jianguo enthusiastically, then pulled Gu Yimin and Gu Erhui to praise them, "How come your two children are so good at growing up? They are so handsome."
Gu Yimin and Gu Erhui felt a little embarrassed by her praise, and their faces turned red.
Zhu Qingfen then told the people who came with her about the jacket, how light and warm it was to wear. She made the people who came with her feel a little eager to try it out.
However, they didn't buy it in the end, saying they would think about it later. They probably thought the price was too high.
Zhu Qingfen came here today because she was annoyed by Qiu Weiguang's nagging. Qiu Weiguang always felt that he had only helped Gu Jianguo and Han Deyi find a house, but he asked them for clothes worth more than 50 yuan, and he felt very guilty.
Although Zhu Qingfen felt that they had helped and that Gu Jianguo and the others should give them some gifts, she also felt that something worth more than 50 yuan was indeed a bit expensive, so she brought her colleagues here today to introduce customers to them.
Unfortunately, none of her colleagues bought it as they all thought it was too expensive.
They sold two pairs of pants that day and earned fourteen dollars, which made them feel a little comforted.
Over the next two days, many people still came to see the jackets. At Gu Yimin and Gu Erhui's persuasion, some tried them on, but no one bought them. However, they did sell six pairs of jeans during these two days.
Although they made some money from selling jeans these days, they were all very anxious seeing so many clothes piled up here, especially the jackets that had not been sold.
Gu Jianguo and Han Deyi both had blisters on their mouths, which shows how much pressure they were under.
On the morning of the fifth day after the opening, a jeep pulled up to the door, and in came a man and a woman, both in their twenties. Judging from their clothes, they were obviously not from ordinary families.
"Is this a puffer jacket?" The woman raised her chin and looked at Gu Yimin and Gu Erhui with a condescending look.
The two sisters felt uncomfortable being looked at like this by her, but they endured it. Gu Erhui smiled and said to her: "Yes, this is the bread coat, how about I get one for you to try?"
The woman hummed lightly, and Gu Yimin immediately took out a red puffer jacket and handed it to her. He watched her put it on and said with a smile, "You look really good in it."
The woman seemed not to hear her compliment and turned to the boy and said, "Does it look good?"
The man withdrew his gaze from Gu Erhui and said, "You look good in anything you wear."
The woman snorted. "This one will do. Get me another pair of jeans."
Gu Yimin quickly found a pair of jeans that fit her and put on the camisole she had taken off.
The woman turned to look at the man again and asked, "I'll buy you one too?"
The man looked nonchalant and said, "Just buy it."
"Get her one too," the woman said.
Gu Yimin put the other set of clothes into the bag. The man came over and took out a wallet from his pocket and asked, "How much is it in total?"
"145." Gu Erhui said.
The man looked at her again, took out one hundred and fifty yuan from his wallet and handed it to her. Gu Erhui took it and gave him five yuan in change, then watched him walk out with the woman, throwing his car keys to her.
After their car drove away, everyone was extremely excited because the bakery was finally open.
Tian Huiying also sighed, "Rich people are different. They can spend a hundred or two hundred yuan at will."
Gu Erhui smiled and said, "Aunt, one or two hundred yuan may seem like a lot of money to us, but it may be nothing to others."
Tian Huiying nodded and said, "Indeed." Today really opened my eyes.
After the shop opened, business seemed to be going well. After a while, the two girls who had bought jeans before came over and each bought a red puffer jacket.
However, they were not so straightforward. They tried on many pieces of clothing and bargained for a long time. Finally, Gu Erhui gave them a dollar discount, and they paid, took the clothes and left.
In the afternoon, Zhu Qingfen and her colleagues returned. They also tried on a lot of pieces. Since there were six of them trying on pieces together, it kept the Gu sisters and Tian Huiying incredibly busy.
Gu Jianguo and Han Deyi wanted to help, but the people trying on clothes were all women, and it was not convenient for two grown men like them to move forward.
After trying on the clothes and bargaining, I finally sold them a hooded jacket for 53 yuan. I sold six in total.
On that day, they sold ten coats and seven pairs of jeans, earning a total of 277 yuan. This is really not a small amount of money, almost half a year's salary for a worker. They farmed, and the family could not save 200 yuan a year.
They cooked two extra dishes for dinner that day, and Gu Jianguo and Han Deyi also drank some wine. They had barely slept at night these past few days. Now, at last, there was hope.
When it comes to new things, people may not accept them at first, but once some people start to accept them, others will follow suit. The same is true for puffer jackets.
Over the next few days, I sold about ten coats a day, and even more jeans. A week later, both the jeans and coats were sold out.
They did some calculations and found that after deducting costs, rent and their usual expenses, they earned a total of 4,200 yuan from this trip.
The money was right in front of them, and looking at it, they couldn't stop smiling. Not to mention Gu Yimin and Gu Erhui, even Gu Jianguo and Han Deyi had never seen so much money.
"I didn't expect that business could make so much money." Tian Huiying said after swallowing.
Gu Yimin looked at Gu Jianguo and Han Deyi with sparkling eyes and asked, "Can I count again?"
Han Deyi laughed, "Count, Erhui, count well."
Gu Erhui picked up the stack of money and carefully counted it one by one. The others all looked at her with smiles. Gu Jianguo sighed, "We have to hurry and get some more stock."
Han Deyi took out two cigarettes and handed one to Gu Jianguo. "Buy the train tickets tomorrow and get more goods this time."
Gu Jianguo nodded, but he was worried about his two daughters being here. Beautiful girls are more troublesome. The boy who drove in to buy clothes that day had been hanging around the door for several days.
Finally, they decided that Gu Jianguo and Han Deyi would go to Shenzhen to purchase goods, while Gu Yimin, Gu Erhui, and Tian Huiying would go home. They would come back after they returned from purchasing goods.
Gu Siqing rode Han Zhengping's bicycle to and from school these days. Han Zhengping was also a brilliant guy. Even with the three of them on his bicycle, he still rode it steadily.
That day, Han Zhengping rode his bike to take Gu Siqing, Gu Sanjing and Han Erpang home. As soon as the four got off the bike, they saw Gu Yimin and Gu Erhui washing clothes.
Gu Siqing cried out and rushed over, "Big sister, you're back! Where's Dad? Are the clothes selling well? Are you guys okay in the provincial capital?"
