Looking at the bright sunshine outside, Xia Xiaomei said, "Luckily, the weather is nice today. We can air out the blankets and air them out in a little while."
Li Chunmei said, "Today is indeed a good day. Usually, it's rainy around the time of Qingming Festival."
Xia Jianguo said, "The room hasn't been ventilated for four or five years, so it probably smells musty. But the musty smell is still okay; the real concern is that rats might have made their home there."
"Is Dad really that scary? What should we do?"
Xia Minmin rubbed her face vigorously. Just thinking about the appearance of a rat gave her goosebumps.
Xia Jianguo patted Xia Minmin's head and said, "We'll just have to bear with it. We won't be staying at home for long. We'll be going back to Shenzhen in a few days."

The van was parked at the Xia family's old house, and the front door was open, so someone must be home.
Xia Jianguo and Xiao Wu unloaded luggage from the back of the van. There was a lot of stuff, and it was all sorts of things. Most of it was gifts they had bought in the county town to give away when they got home.
Li Chunmei, Xia Xiaomei, and Xia Minmin went straight into the house, where Chen Chunhua was cooking lunch with Xiaobao.
Who is it?
Chen Chunhua's hoarse voice came from behind the main room.
Xia Xiaomei replied, "Sister-in-law, we're back."
Chen Chunhua came out of the kitchen, wiping her hands on her apron, and asked, "Why are you all back at this time of year?"
Li Chunmei began, "A few days ago, Jianguo dreamed of his parents. They said they wanted to erect a monument, so we came back specifically for this."
The two sisters-in-law, who hadn't seen each other for a long time, were both a little embarrassed.
After thinking for a moment, Chen Chunhua said, "Erecting a monument is such a big deal, I'll go find Jianshe and bring it back. Little sister, please take care of Xiaobao for me."
After saying that, he turned off the stove and rode his bike to find Xia Jianshi.
Li Chunmei and Xia Xiaomei opened their respective room doors and windows and sure enough, there was a strong musty smell. They quickly moved their bedding outside to air it out. Before leaving, all the bedding had been folded and placed there.
It took Xia Jianguo and Xiao Wu several trips to get the bags and packages into the house. It was lunchtime, and there were hardly any pedestrians on the road.
