Chapter 172 Tickling

At four o'clock in the morning on the sixth day of the first lunar month, the stars were still twinkling in the sky.

Xia Minmin rubbed her sore legs from sleeping curled up, and yawned. The dark circles under her eyes proved that she hadn't slept well last night.

The reason is simple: Wang Yu's sleeping posture is terrible. A two-meter bed is already quite large, and after falling asleep, she would circle it endlessly. Her circling was purposeful; Xia Minmin was her target. No matter where Xia Minmin hid, she could find her. It was like dangling a carrot in front of a donkey—similar in effect.

Once her legs felt a little better, Xia Minmin walked out of the room. The card table in the living room was still open, and apart from Xia Xiaomei resting, the other five people were still playing hard, as if they were determined to fight to the death.

After winning the game, Li Chunmei, who was sitting to the side, saw her daughter and reached out her hand to Xia Minmin, saying, "Xiaomin, why didn't you sleep a little longer?"

Xia Minmin held Li Chunmei's hand and said, "I really didn't know Xiaoyu was such a bad sleeper. I never want to sleep with her again."

Xia Minmin vividly reenacted Wang Yu's sleeping posture, amusing everyone who had been playing cards all night.

Xia Damei and Wang Jie found their niece's complaints amusing. "Xiaomin, you made the right decision. We, as her parents, don't like sleeping with her either."

"Then go to Mom and Dad's room and sleep for a while longer?"

"Um!"

Xia Minmin walked into the master bedroom under Li Chunmei's watchful eye, and fell asleep in less than two minutes after lying down on the bed.

When Xia Minmin woke up again, it was already broad daylight. She stretched and walked out of the master bedroom. The others, who hadn't slept all night, were preparing breakfast in the kitchen.

Everyone showed off their special skills: Xiao Wu made steamed buns, Wang Jie fried dough sticks, Li Chunmei made pancakes, Xia Jianguo heated milk, and Xia Damei cooked millet porridge.

Xia Minmin walked into the kitchen and looked at the busy people. "Aren't you all tired after staying up all night?"

Wang Jie, holding chopsticks for frying dough sticks, said, "I'm not tired. Xiaomin, you can really extort money from your parents today. They won a lot of money yesterday."

If it weren't for the darkness in their eyes and their constant yawning, Xia Minmin would have believed their lies.

Xiao Wu stared at his watch and calculated the time. When the time was up, he turned off the heat and let it sit for three to five minutes. "Xiao Min, go wake your aunt up. It's time for breakfast."

Li Chunmei placed the pancakes on the dining table and called Xiaoyu to get up, wash up, and have breakfast.

Xia Minmin nodded. Xia Xiaomei's room was close to the restaurant.

thump thump thump…

Xia Minmin stood outside the guest room door, "Auntie, are you awake?"

Xia Minmin pressed her ear to the door, and seemed to hear footsteps getting closer and closer.

The guest room door opened from the inside.

"Xiaomin, I'm awake!" Xia Xiaomei had already changed into her outdoor clothes.

"They've prepared a lot of breakfast today. Auntie, hurry up and wash up. We're up early, so we should eat more and not leave any for Xiaoyu."

Xia Minmin helped Xia Xiaomei to the restroom, which had a wet and dry separation design so she wasn't worried that Xia Xiaomei would slip.

Xia Xiaomei took the toothpaste tube that Xia Minmin had squeezed out and said softly, "Xiaomin, go call Xiaoyu! I can manage by myself, don't worry!"

Xia Xiaomei was deeply moved as she watched her niece's departing figure. Since she became pregnant, her family had treated her like a porcelain doll, not letting her do any heavy work and cooking lots of delicious food for her every day, afraid that she would go hungry.

Xia Minmin returned to her room and found Wang Yu, who had lost his target, sleeping peacefully on the bed without moving. Xia Minmin was so angry that she almost laughed.

"Xiaoyu, wake up, get up and eat." Xia Minmin patted Wang Yu's shoulder but there was no response.

The second step, drawing back the curtains to let in sunlight, ended in failure when Wang Yu hid under the covers.

The third step was to lift the blanket. Without the blanket, Wang Yu curled up, but still didn't get up.

Then we'll have to use our ultimate trick. Wang Yu's waist is very sensitive; a slight tickle will wake her up.

Xia Minmin took off her slippers and knelt down next to Wang Yu, reaching out her devilish hand to her.

Just as Xia Minmin had predicted, Wang Yu woke up immediately.

"Haha, it itches so much! Xiaomin, please let me go!" Wang Yu was tormented to the point of tears, constantly dodging Xia Minmin's hands. How could Xia Minmin let go of such a good opportunity for revenge?

Wang Yu was so exhausted by Xia Minmin that he lay paralyzed on the bed like a dead fish, neither happy nor sad, as if life had lost all hope.

Seeing that Xia Minmin had gone back to her room to call Wang Yujiu but hadn't appeared for a long time, and knowing it wasn't good to keep so many people waiting for the two children, Li Chunmei said, "You guys eat first, I'll go check on them."

"Second sister-in-law, I'll go with you too!" Xia Damei ladled out the cooked porridge and placed it on the table to cool.

The two women, aunt and sister-in-law, opened the door and passed through the study. Wang Yu's laughing and loud pleading voice could be heard.

Li Chunmei looked at her sister-in-law with an apologetic expression.

Xia Damei said nonchalantly, "Xiaomin has finally gotten her revenge for being pushed off the bed last night. Xiaoyu is a restless sleeper and can't be woken up. Xiaomin's method of waking her up is really good. I'll try it in the future."

With the indulgence of her two mothers, Wang Yu suffered five minutes of tickling, leaving her exhausted and lying on the bed.

Xia Damei came out and stood by the bed, sneering, "Serves you right! You deserve to be taught a lesson. If you ever stay in bed late again, don't blame your mother for being rude to you!"

Wang Yu glanced at her mother listlessly, "Hmph! My dad was right after all, the most poisonous heart is a woman's!"

This completely enraged Xia Damei, who, disregarding the fact that Wang Yu was still on the bed, gave her left ear a 180-degree spin.

Xia Minmin gasped in shock.

Xia Damei said without changing her expression, "How about that! This is the most vicious woman's heart! Do you want to try being even more vicious?"

Wang Yu's face contorted in pain. "Mom, I was wrong. I promise I'll never lie with Dad and talk bad about you again! If Dad ever talks bad about you behind your back again, I'll make sure to tell him."
