Chapter 58 Familiarity with the Environment: A Touching Experience
Because of her words, Gu Zhiyuan's eyes and brows lit up with a smile. He clinked glasses with hers, his tone gentler than he himself realized: "You're right. Come on, let's celebrate our new life."
Ji Wei loved the words "new life." These three words signified a complete break from her failed life in her previous existence. Her gaze fell on the two little ones over there, who were now celebrating by raising their soda bottles like adults. "Let's have breakfast first, it'll get cold later." Gu Zhiyuan said before looking at the two little ones and explaining to them, "Mom usually gets up around this time on weekends, so we'll go out together after she finishes eating."
He would be living here for at least the next year, and he felt it was necessary to familiarize himself with the surroundings and roads. Ji Wei agreed with this, but she wondered, "Don't you have to go to work today?"
"Brother Lü told me to rest at home for a couple more days, and it's not too late to go back to work the day after tomorrow." Not only were they moving to the city, but Lü Shuangcai also had this plan. His son, Lü Song, was already in junior high school, and the teaching quality in the city was definitely better than in Rong County. Busy days fly by, and in the blink of an eye, it's the end of August. Tomorrow is September 1st, the day to register at school. Both of them are new students, and they are currently discussing who to register first. Ji Wei didn't want to hear their discussion, since she wouldn't have any time tomorrow. This matter could only be handled by Gu Zhiyuan. Seeing the three of them walking towards her, she asked with a smile, "Have you all decided?"
"Okay, Mom, don't worry about going to school tomorrow. We can do it," Gu Chen'an encouraged her.
"Go, Mom!" Lulu followed closely behind.
"With your dad around, I really don't have to worry." Ji Wei smiled at Gu Zhiyuan. She wasn't lying; he was always meticulous and would arrange everything properly, so she felt at ease.
"With Teacher Ji's words, it's all worth it, no matter how tired I am," Gu Zhiyuan said, telling the two little ones to keep their schoolbags for tomorrow.
"Didn't I tell you not to call me Teacher Ji?" Ji Wei gave him a reproachful look.
“My bad. Will I be able to get their school’s schedule tomorrow?” Gu Zhiyuan asked.
"I'll go to the office tomorrow and ask. I can take them to school," Ji Wei said, indicating that he didn't need to worry about it.
“It was understandable before that I couldn’t deliver it when I wasn’t home, but now that we both live here, we can’t assume it’s your responsibility anymore. Besides, this place is so close to the school, it won’t take up much time. We’re novices at Jinxiuyuan, and we’re not that busy with work,” Gu Zhiyuan explained to her.
“It’s normal to be unfamiliar with an industry when you’re new to it. Besides Jinxiuyuan, do you have any other plans?” Ji Wei wanted to know their next steps.
"Brother Lü is already preparing to acquire new land, but it will probably be next year by the time he gets it. He has also hired three more drivers for the freight business, and his wife's supermarket has not yet been sold off."

"No rush. We've only just arrived here. We'll make plans after we've settled in." Ji Wei naturally hadn't given up on the tutoring program, but since she was in an unfamiliar place, everything had to start from scratch.

When the weather started to cool down, Ji Wei was surprised to realize how much time had passed. It was already late autumn. When she took her child to buy winter clothes, she didn't forget to pick out two for Gu Zhiyuan as well. One of them, a black cashmere coat, was somewhat similar to the style he had brought back for her when he was out driving, so it was her favorite.
Gu Zhiyuan came home a little late tonight. Both children were asleep. Seeing the people in the living room, he said apologetically, "I forgot to tell you not to wait for me."
