At the eastern end of Xiaochen Village is a dense forest.
Hidden among the dense forest, mounds of earth of varying heights appear like rolling hills. If it weren't for the blazing sun overhead, this scene would probably intimidate many people.
Guan Feng asked, "Right here?"
Chen Yao said, "That's right! All the graves in our village are here."
Guan Feng nodded.
Although funerals are becoming more standardized, this phenomenon still persists in rural areas despite repeated bans. He had no time to deal with it for the time being, and the group followed the winding mountain road to a cemetery.
Chen Yao pointed to a newly built mound of earth and said, "This is it!"
Guan Feng glanced at it and saw that it was indeed a new grave. The grass on the grave mound had not yet grown fully, and a wooden tombstone on it bore the name Chen Huaqiang.
Guan Feng ordered, "Find the tools! Start digging now!"
"this..."
Li Xiangdong and the others were in a bit of a dilemma.
Even the most vicious murderers, they dare to arrest without hesitation.
Is it permissible to excavate ancestral graves?
Although we don't adhere to feudal superstitions nowadays, we still respect the dead and no one wants to bring bad luck upon them.
Guan Feng frowned, preparing to lead the way forward to dig.
Chen Yao stepped forward and asked, "Team Leader Guan, are you really... really able to find clues?"
Guan Feng glanced at the cemetery and nodded, saying, "Most likely."
Chen Yao immediately spat and wiped his hands, saying, "How can I trouble you all with such a small matter? I'll do it. Besides, this is my father's grave; it's bad luck for others to dig it up!"
Guan Feng said, "If we really find any clues, I'll credit you for this."
Chen Yao immediately chuckled and said, "No problem! I'll get the tools right away."
A moment later, he found a hoe and started digging.
Under Chen Yao's guidance, the others' initial apprehension gradually dissipated.
Seeing this, Guan Feng asked someone to find a few more hoes.
He led the excavation.
Everyone started digging.
A short while later.
A coffin appeared before them.
Guan Feng gestured for everyone to stop, glanced at Chen Xuewen, and asked, "Are you confident?"
Chen Xuewen said, "The specific situation depends on the extent of decay and damage. After all, it has been several days and no one knows the situation. However, if it is just a preliminary test, I estimate that there is no major problem."
Guan Feng nodded and ordered people to set up a cordon before opening the coffin.
Almost the instant the coffin was opened, a stench assaulted the senses, and those who were nearby instantly felt nauseous.
Huang Lili then vomited.
vomit!
They all ran to the side.
Guan Feng is alright.
He had witnessed even more devastating conditions in southern Yunnan.
Tropical regions are home to many rodents and ants.
The body was already completely white at that time.
If you weren't prejudiced, you wouldn't even be able to tell it's humanoid.
He patted Chen Xuewen on the shoulder and said, "Captain Chen, you've worked hard!"
Chen Xuewen pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses, his face expressionless, and said calmly, "I've seen all sorts of complicated situations, what's this? But you, Team Leader Guan, didn't even react to this situation? I think Wang Xun is going to throw up."
Guan Feng explained simply, "I spent three days and three nights among piles of corpses in southern Yunnan."
"sharp!"
Chen Xuewen gave a thumbs up.
Guan Feng waved his hand and quietly watched Chen Xuewen undergo the examination.
Ten minutes later.
After a preliminary examination, Chen Xuewen seemed to have discovered something, and he and those around him began to dissect the body more carefully.
Fifteen minutes later.
He brought a lab report to Guan Feng.
Guan Feng took it, glanced at it, and asked in surprise, "Missing both kidneys?"
Chen Xuewen said, "That's right!"
Guan Feng asked, "Is there a possibility of it being lost?"
Chen Xuewen shook his head and said, "Judging from the cross-section of the connection, it was cut by a sharp instrument, at least a medical scalpel. Ordinary blades don't have such a clean cut. It must have been separated intentionally."
Guan Feng's expression immediately furrowed.
Human intervention?
Four words instantly came to mind.
He nodded and said, "Captain Chen will conduct further testing. I'll report to Captain Zheng first."
"good!"
Chen Xuewen nodded.
Guan Feng walked to the side and dialed Zheng Yuandong's number.
On the phone.
Guan Feng briefly described the situation and then stated his deduction: "Captain, based on preliminary judgment, the kidney was deliberately severed. I believe this nursing home is highly suspicious, and there may even be organ trafficking involved. I suggest that we immediately apply for a search warrant to investigate the relevant personnel and locations."
Zheng Yuandong asked seriously, "How confident are you?"
Based on his intuition honed over years of criminal investigation experience, Guan Feng judged, "About 70-80%."
Zheng Yuandong immediately said, "I will apply for a search warrant right away!"
Guan Feng hung up the phone, called over a few people, and informed them of the situation.
Li Xiangdong's first reaction was that it was organ trafficking.
Guan Feng said, "At present, this possibility is very high. If it is true, the chain of interests is astonishingly large. Everyone should be prepared. The captain just told everyone to go back and get their guns, put on their bulletproof vests, and be prepared to fire if necessary."
"Li Xiangdong! Wang Xun! You two will participate in this investigation. Huang Lili, you will act as the liaison."
"yes!"
"receive!"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Guan Feng handed the area over to the police officers from the local police station who arrived on the scene to seal it off. After giving them some instructions, he led his men back to the station to collect their service weapons and put on their bulletproof vests.
The group arrived at the Sunset Red Nursing Home.
......
Sunset Red Nursing Home.
Guan Feng and his entourage stormed in, presented a search warrant, and immediately surrounded the entire nursing home.
A moment later.
Dean Li was brought over.
He protested, "What are you doing? This is a nursing home. What you're doing is disrupting the lives of the elderly!"
