Chapter 1 The Fallen Heiress Xue Qiandai

The two boys simultaneously gave Jian Yan a death stare.

It's kind of strange, but every time the group makes a bet, Jian Yan always wins. The two of them have been wanting to turn the tables for a long time.

The group whispered amongst themselves, and the girl on the other end gave her answer: "Okay."

You can start work today.

Jin Xiangyu clapped her hands. "Okay." She got up, went to the cashier, and tapped the table. "Give me that receipt."

You Duoduo quickly handed over a handwritten slip, which included an address, the type and quantity of coffee ordered, and a contact person's phone number. Jin Xiangyu passed the slip to the girl, saying, "This afternoon at 4:30, a company on the 27th floor of the Yintai Building ordered afternoon tea. Deliver it there. Also, fill out an employment registration form, making sure to clearly state your bank account details..."

"Wait a minute..." the girl interrupted Jin Xiangyu, but still remained polite. "Sorry, I didn't hear you clearly. Aren't you hiring waiters? Why are you also delivering food? And to the Yintai Department Store?"

Isn't this a fake job posting? She didn't say it aloud. She had assumed she could just relax in air conditioning and get paid.

Jin Xiangyu shrugged, but her words were realistic and shrewd: "Little darling, do you think a waiter with no skills is worth such a high salary? You've seen my environment. Our Lightyear Coffee specializes in coffee delivery, catering to the sensitive self-esteem and sense of superiority of CBD white-collar workers. Your image, your work, and the number of orders you generate are what make you worth this price."

"This price?" In the past, the girl would have blinked dismissively. She abruptly stood up, one hand holding her Birkin bag, the other her LV bag, and said, "I'm not agreeing anymore, bye-bye."

"Yay!" Lan Shan stretched out his finger, making a V-shape, a smile spreading across his face. He poked Jian Yan, "Money and coffee are all mine."

You Duoduo was dumbfounded; losing a hundred yuan was too easy.

Jian Yan didn't respond; she was watching the young boss and the girl.

"Honey, the economic situation isn't good this year, so you might have a hard time finding such a good job opportunity." Jin Xiangyu didn't give up, making a last-ditch effort, or rather, a final plea.

The terrible economic situation? If it weren't for the economic downturn, her father's business wouldn't have gone bankrupt, and she wouldn't be homeless now. The girl stopped, hesitated for a moment, and turned around. "Deal, but if it's an advance, it has to be in cash."

Jin Xiangyu snapped her fingers and resumed her signature foxy smile, "Then I can only pay you for one day first. Our temple is small, and we don't usually have that much working capital."

A shrewd businessman! A thoroughly shrewd businessman. This was the girl's second impression of the fox-like boss.

Having reached a verbal agreement, Jian Yan waved the hundred-yuan bill in her hand, then gave it a half-inch kiss, pretending to kiss it. "I'm so sorry, it seems I won again." She walked over to the girl and greeted her warmly, "My name is Jian Yan, I'm the shop's little rocket. What's your name?"

The girl couldn't help but chuckle at the nickname and replied with a smile, "Xue Qiandai. Xue as in snow, Qian as in thousands, and Dai as in Estée Lauder."

"Pfft!" This was the first time she'd heard someone introduce themselves like that. Jian Yan tilted her head; the name sounded nice, and it even sounded familiar.
