Chapter 195: Taking Shushu home, she took the initiative to kiss him.

Once the person who hosted the dinner left, the gathering ended.

"Jian Xiaoyan, would you like to come with me somewhere?" Qin Shu asked, seeing that Jian Yan was about to go home.

Thinking of his defense of her in court, Jian Yan said "Oh" and followed behind him.

Since she'd been drinking, she couldn't drive, so she hailed a taxi heading towards the city center. Jian Yan rested her chin on her hand, looking at the scenery outside the window. "Qin Shu, where are we going?"

You'll know when you get there.

Hmph, just making a big fuss. Qin Shu is always like this.

After driving for half an hour, Jian Yan realized that they had arrived at the restaurant where she had initially complained about the Fire Gang.

Jian Yao was very diligent in his work, taking orders, carrying plates, and serving dishes. He showed off his white teeth when he spoke, and his eyes curved when he smiled.

For a fleeting moment, Jian Yan's heart tightened.

That was her younger brother, her own flesh and blood. He used to be idle and irresponsible, but after that incident, he grew up day by day.

"Welcome, customer..." Jian Yao swallowed his words, like someone who had suffered countless scornful looks and grievances suddenly seeing someone who would stand up for him.

"Sister, brother-in-law..."

"Find a private room," Qin Shu said, not denying his suggestion.

Jian Yao scratched his head. "That private room charges a service fee. There are only two of you, so it's not worth it."

There's no need for such extravagance.

"Just go when I tell you to." Qin Shu waved his hand dismissively, showing he had plenty of money.

"Jian Yao, what are you doing? They're urging us to hurry up."

When other waiters in the restaurant called him, Jian Yao responded with an "yes" and led his family to a private room first, bringing them the menu.

"I'll go greet the other guests first, and I'll be back in five minutes."

The private room was spacious, with a round table in the center and a cabinet air conditioner and coat rack on one side. Jian Yan took off her coat, and Qin Shu took it and hung it up for her.

"Can you still eat?" We've been eating and drinking at the dinner table for so long.

Qin Shu handed the menu to Jian Yan, "Choose a few dishes that your younger brother likes. Look how much weight he's lost. We can have some fruit juice."

Jian Yan clenched her pale hands, her heart pounding like a kitten's tickle. Those who truly care about you will empathize and extend their love to everything connected to you. Qin Shu was such a person.

She picked out a few dishes and finally ordered a hot corn juice.

When Jian Yao returned, he greeted him warmly, "I'll place the order for you right away."

"Okay, come and eat with us after you place your order."

Jian Yan remained silent, leaving everything to Qin Shu. Jian Yao looked at his sister, hoping she would say something later.

"Let's listen to him," the eldest sister finally relented.

Jian Yao was really hungry, and he wolfed down his food, chewing on the meat. "Sister, brother-in-law, why aren't you eating?"

Jian Yan sipped her corn juice. "We've already eaten, so we came to see you."

Jian Yao smiled and looked down, sniffing, "I'm doing fine here. I plan to make some achievements so the boss will sign Huotuan again. Then I'll become a delivery rider. What my sister can do, I can do too."

He poured half a glass of corn juice, stood up, and raised his glass to Qin Shu, "Brother-in-law, thank you for teaching me so much. You don't need to worry about me anymore; I'll take responsibility for myself. I'll toast you with this corn juice instead of wine."

Qin Shu patted him on the shoulder, "Good lad, well done."

After they had eaten and drunk their fill, Qin Shu went to pay the bill, but Jian Yan stopped him. "I can't always let you pay. I'll pay for my brother."

“He’s my brother too,” Qin Shu corrected her. “Isn’t he?”

Jian Yan was too lazy to argue with him.

After leaving the restaurant, Qin Shu said, "Jian Yao, I asked your boss for leave. I'll take you home now."

Jian Yao was quite embarrassed, "No need, no need, I can go home by myself after get off work."

His home was too shabby and simple, and he didn't want his sister and brother-in-law to see it.

“Let’s go. Name of the neighborhood.” Jian Yan made the final decision.

Jian Yao gave a name, and the taxi stopped next to a supermarket near the residential area. Qin Shu went in and picked out some daily necessities, such as milk, bread, and sausages, which filled two large bags.

Jian Yao held it in his hand and felt it was as heavy as a thousand pounds.

"It doesn't matter how big or small the position is; every profession can produce outstanding individuals. Do your job well. Also, I've recently looked into adult education. If you're interested, I can enroll you in one to learn marketing. When you come back, you can work in Li Xing's department."

The comprehensive, one-stop service was something even Jian Yan felt no one could do better than Qin Shu. He had no obligation to do all of this.

Jian Yao clenched his fist. "Brother-in-law, I understand."

He made no promise, but his heart was already absolutely determined.

After saying goodbye to Jian Yao, the two walked along the street in the night. An autumn breeze blew, bringing a slight chill. Qin Shu took off his coat.

Jian Yan didn't answer. "Qin Shu, let me take you home."

Her expression was very serious.

Qin Shu chuckled; his girl was so cute. "You take me home, and then I'll take you home?"

“Qin Shu, who says only boys can take girls home? Jie Ning has taken Lan Shan home so many times. You’ve done so much for me, I… I don’t want to just take.” Jian Yan lowered her head, staring at her toes.

Qin Shu smoothed a stray strand of hair from Jian Yan's temple. "You gave me a coat. It's such good quality, it would be worth a lot of money in a shopping mall. And your bento box and handmade noodles. Jian Xiaoyan, I don't want to be so calculating with you, how about we owe each other something?"

Jian Yan raised her head, her eyes sparkling.

In fact, escorting a boy home is a very dangerous thing. Because it's very possible that you yourself won't be able to get home.

Outside the community gate, Qin Shu held Jian Yan's hand, unwilling to let her go.

"Jian Xiaoyan, please don't go back, okay?"

"You won't let me walk you home. It's dangerous for a girl to walk alone at night."
