Chapter 199 Who am I? Who is he?

Xue Qiandai didn't know how to explain, she just smiled and said, "Some things happened, it's hard to explain in a few words. Auntie, Dad mentioned you. It turns out my mom really does have a younger sister. Auntie, now I have another family member, I'm so happy. Oh, Auntie, I heard Dad say your name is very nice."

Madam Zhao stopped beside the flower bed, looking puzzled.

The autumn roses were displaying their final beauty, their decline already evident. "My name? Aren't I called Zhao Mufei?"

Xue Qiandai was stunned for a moment; it seemed her aunt had lost many memories. "Aunt, your name is Ji Wanying. My mother's name is Ji Jiaying. You are biological sisters."

"Wanying, Wanying..." Madam Zhao murmured to herself, quickly falling into terror, her pupils filled with fragmented and torn images.

The woman leaning against the window said, "You promised to dress me in a wedding gown, so why did you deceive me?"

The woman drawing her eyebrows in front of the mirror said, "Why do so many people love my sister? Even though she has made mistakes and committed sins, there are still people who are devoted to her without hesitation."

The woman wearing a dress with padded shoulders said, "Someone has taken up residence in my heart, and I don't know when I'll be able to forget him. Are you still willing to accept me?"

The woman, who wept until dawn, said, "When someone is hurt, they always find a protective layer for themselves, or hide in a shell. Sister, you are so fragile, let me feel your pain!"

The scene shifts abruptly again.

The repentant man, the sincere man, the accusing woman—their expressions ranged from pain to anger. These complex emotions, combined with the man's actions, gave her a splitting headache.

"Who am I? Who exactly am I? Am I Ji Wanying or Zhao Mufei? Dai Dai, tell me."

No one could tell her, not even Xue Qiandai. Now Xue Qiandai finally understood just how serious her aunt's illness was and what she had gone through in her life. And Xue Qiandai, it seemed, was not the cure, but rather the trigger that worsened the condition.

“Auntie!” Xue Qiandai supported Madam Zhao’s trembling shoulders. “You are both Ji Wanying and Zhao Mufei, you just changed your name.”

Helpless, Madam Zhao clutched Xue Qiandai's hand, her eyes brimming with tears. "Is that so?"

Just then, Xue Qiandai noticed a man with a cane appear behind her aunt. He had a grim face, like the eve of an impending storm. Behind him followed Zhao Jiequn, who looked like he had just gotten himself into trouble.

“Mr. Zhao… it’s been a long time.”

It's Zhao Sheng.

He nodded slightly and took Madam Zhao from Xue Qiandai's hands. "Madam, don't be afraid, I'm here. My wife is not well and it's inconvenient for her to receive guests right now. Please go back."

Everyone has their own weakness, and for Zhao Sheng, it was his wife. He treated her with gentleness, but was cold and distant towards others.

Xue Qiandai received this message of "getting rid of me," and she looked at Madam Zhao, "Auntie, I'll come to see you another day."

She left with Zhao Jiequn.

"Dai Dai?" Madam Zhao was clearly reluctant to part with Xue Qian Dai.

A warning came from behind: "Don't try to disturb her peace."

Xue Qiandai paused, but didn't turn around, and left on her own. She remembered the business card of the psychologist Li Shen had given her; perhaps she could go and consult with him.

After everyone had left, Zhao Sheng took Madam Zhao's hand and said, "Madam, you're not feeling well again. Let's go see a doctor."

Mrs. Zhao seemed filled with fear of the doctor, her soul trembling. "I won't go, I won't go. Brother Sheng, I'm not sick, I remember, I'm Ji Wanying..."

Zhao Sheng suddenly shouted, "You are my wife, Zhao Mufei, and you bear my surname."

"Then what was my original surname? Why are you so concerned about my surname?" Madam Zhao's tears fell like broken pearls, or like a summer downpour. "My sister's name is Ji Jiaying, and my brother-in-law's name is Xue Jingnian, Xue Jingnian..."

Her head was throbbing with pain again.

She was certain that a piece of her memory puzzle was missing.

Zhao Sheng stared blankly at his wife, his aura of hostility growing stronger.

He made a phone call and said only one sentence: "Bring Huang Lufei to the sanatorium; his wife's old ailment has flared up again."

*

Jin's headquarters.

The receptionist was stopping the intruder. "Miss Hua, Miss Hua, you can't go in. Mr. Jin is in a meeting."

Hua Se smiled, looking confident and triumphant. "If he's not allowed to see Jin Heng, he can expect to face the media. Believe me, this is enough gossip for him to enjoy for the rest of his life."

The receptionist didn't know anything about the gossip, but Miss Hua was Mr. Jin's fiancée in the past, so she must have some information about her.

While he hesitated, several people emerged from the CEO's office; they were Jin Heng's clients. He glanced at Hua Se and escorted the clients into the elevator.

Turning around, he said to Hua Se, "I don't come here unless I have a reason."

“Exactly,” Hua Se readily admitted. “Do you want to talk here? I’m not sure if you’ll regret not treating me like an honored guest after you hear this?”

Jin Heng didn't say anything and went into the president's office, with Hua Se following behind.

"I won't waste any more time on nonsense. I'm here today for one thing: transfer the betrothal gifts you gave me back then to my account in equal amounts, and we'll be even from now on."

Jin Heng sneered, "What a huge appetite! That's 150 million!" "What's wrong, my Se Se? Short of baby formula money? You chose that pretty boy? Oh, how can his looks even qualify him as a pretty boy? He can't even afford baby formula?"

Hua Se listened patiently to his sarcastic remarks, then slammed a document on her desk. "If you don't do as I say, this will be in all the major media outlets tomorrow. Your father is a latecomer, only involved at the very end, but believe me, it'll be enough to give him a hard time. How the capital market will react is even more beyond my control."
