Because it wasn't the weekend, the cinema wasn't crowded, with audience members scattered around.
All the spotlights went out, plunging the theater into darkness.
Jian Yan stared at the screen, holding popcorn in her hands, while her Coke sat in the recessed compartment. It was her first time watching a movie with Senior Yuan, and such a fittingly romantic one at that; she was a little nervous, her heart pounding.
Yuan Mu's attention was completely off the film. He leaned against the chair next to Jian Yan, his eyes occasionally glancing at the girl's profile.
Her eyelashes weren't long, but they were very thick, which made her look very well-behaved.
Three rows in front of them, a couple was being very affectionate. They were imitating the kissing scenes in movies. Yuan Mu was distracted by what he saw.
Feeling a bit bored, Yuan Mu leaned over to Jian Yan and whispered in her ear, "Xiao Yan, I want to eat popcorn too."
Jianyan handed over the large bucket.

As Jian Yan was mentally preparing herself, she felt Yuan Mu's slightly sweaty hand reach out and take her hand, which wasn't holding popcorn, in his palm.
In the darkness, Jian Yan's cheeks burned redder and redder, and her lips pressed into a straight line.
The movie continued, and amidst the heat, the couple embraced. Yuan Mu followed suit, pulling Jian Yan into his arms. Jian Yan couldn't help but look up, meeting his eyes, and in the dim light of the big screen, she saw a longing flickering in them.
Love is hidden in the eyes, but cannot be concealed. Yuan Mu's heart fluttered, and he slowly leaned down, his thin lips gently touching hers.
Jian Yan's spine stiffened instantly. Her eyes widened in shock as she was frozen in place.
It's soft and delicate on the lips, with a gentle touch and a sweet popcorn flavor.
The kiss in the movie ended, and Yuan Mu raised his head.
"You, you planned this all along." Jian Yan was both ashamed and delighted.
Yuan Mu covered his mouth and laughed, "Isn't this kind of movie perfect for couples? I'm just putting this to good use right now."
She could hear a hint of triumph in his voice. Jian Yan lowered her eyes, trying to process this pleasant surprise.
Her first kiss.
When she was held in Yuan's arms just now, she forgot everything and didn't resist at all. Was that too unreserved?
Just as she was feeling annoyed, Yuan Mu held a piece of popcorn in his palm to her lips. "Open your mouth."
Jian Yan ate it as if possessed, and it tasted different from the one she had eaten before.
Then Yuan Mu said, "The whole city is in love, aren't you hot? Want some cola?"
A glass of cola with a straw was handed to her. Jian Yan licked her lips, stammering, "I...I'm not thirsty." Suddenly, she felt a cool sensation on her lips as a thin stream was slowly poured into her mouth, sweet and refreshing. Yuan Mu held the glass, looking quite serious, "So, you want me to feed you?"

Yuan Mu gave her another deep look. With Jian Yan, he felt relaxed and at ease, unlike with Hua Se, whose mind was filled with calculations, conspiracies, and deals. He sighed softly, suppressing the urge to tell Jian Yan the truth. Deception was certainly wrong, but if one deceived someone for a lifetime, perhaps it could be forgiven?
After the movie ended, Jian Yan went to the restroom first, waited in line for ten minutes, and washed her hands for ten seconds. The water splashed on her face, relieving the heat, before she came out.
Yuan Mu naturally took her hand and walked out. "Xiao Yan, I'll take you home."
Jian Yan responded softly. She thought Senior Yuan was a true gentleman, unlike those guys who were eager for quick success and instant benefits.
