Huo Yunchao ripped the recording off his shirt, a smirk playing on his lips. "I think the police will contact you soon to take your statement." So, he was just bluffing her? Was it all just his guess?
He deduced all this simply by relying on surveillance footage of himself entering and leaving the club, photos of him with Gao Qiang, and his rapid rise in Huading.
Yu Xue felt it was time to re-evaluate Huo Yunchao. "Fine, very well, you'd go to such lengths for her. Huo Yunchao, we've been like brother and sister, how can you doubt me like this? What am I to you, really?"
Huo Yunchao started walking towards the bookstore exit, and Yu Xue followed. She longed for an answer.

Yu Xue fled in panic.
"Dai Dai," Huo Yunchao called out again.
Xue Qiandai ignored him, took out her phone, and dialed a number. "Hey, your coffee has arrived."
About a minute later, a female reader walked out of the bookstore. She was also wearing a T-shirt with an emoji design, but the color and expression were different from the one Xue Qiandai was wearing.
Xue Qiandai exclaimed "Eek!" as if something was amiss.
"The last four digits are 7763." The reader gave his phone number and took his coffee.
Xue Qiandai turned and left.
Huo Yunchao found it strange; why was she angry? He grabbed her arm. "Dai Dai, what's wrong with you?"
Xue Qiandai tried to shake him off, but couldn't break free. A glint of tears welled up in her eyes, like a wounded kitten. Then, her elegant, light punch landed on Huo Yunchao's chest. The force wasn't great, but it was dense and frequent, like a fine drizzle.
"You're still asking me? You went to see her behind my back again! I get annoyed whenever I see her, annoyed to death!" Xue Qiandai was furious and about to explode. "It was the same last time, at the alumni reunion. Why did you go with him? Aren't you going to give me an explanation? She's just taking advantage of the fact that she's known you for a few years longer than me and that your mother likes her. I can't go back in time, what can I do?"
Huo Yunchao understood; his girlfriend was jealous. He enjoyed the meal; he loved how much she cared about him. He stroked her arm and said softly, "Dai Dai, didn't you hear everything? Do I need to explain?"

Huo Yunchao chuckled. He and Dai Dai were truly a match made in heaven. He had just tricked Yu Xue, and now Dai Dai was trying to trick him too.
He gently pinched Dai Dai's nose and said seriously, "At the alumni reunion, she said my mom wasn't feeling well, and because she didn't want me to worry, she didn't tell me. So I called her back. Huo Yunchao's heart was pounding with excitement. He gently stroked her cheek with his fingers and said, "Dai Dai, I haven't kissed you enough yet." So he kissed her again.
The force was a bit too strong, and his breathing was a bit rapid. This little devil always managed to disturb his peace of mind and make him lose himself in the moment.
After a long while, he finally stopped, staring at Dai Dai's slightly swollen lips. "Forgive me, I couldn't control myself again."
Xue Qiandai smiled radiantly. "I forgive you." She hugged him again, resting her head on his shoulder. She loved this beautiful man.
