Chapter 6 School Opening

Chapter 6 School Opening

Pu Xia woke up in an unfamiliar room. The room was dimly lit by heavy curtains, but a beam of light shone through a gap in the curtains and fell on the side of her pillow, dispelling her sleepiness.

She was about to get up, but as soon as she moved, a pair of strong, powerful hands pulled her back.

The person behind her nuzzled her neck and mumbled, "What time is it?"

It's nine o'clock.

Pu Xia struggled to push his arm away and got out of bed.

She tugged at her pajamas, even though they were already ruined.

Xie Sheng had already opened his eyes. He propped his head up with his hand, squinting at her. Perhaps he wasn't fully awake yet, as he exuded a lazy weariness.

Pu Xia glanced at his bare upper body, somewhere between a mature man and a boy, with a broad chest and clear, firm lines extending downwards from his abdomen.

She recalled the scene from last night, her face flushed, and she quickly turned her head away.

"Is it good-looking?" Xie Sheng teased.

Pu Xia forced himself to remain calm and said without changing his expression, "It's alright."

After saying that, he hurriedly left his room, and very "thoughtfully" closed the door heavily to block out his laughter.

After she finished showering and changed her clothes, as she walked towards her room, she saw the closed door of the room opposite hers and was momentarily stunned.

Who could have imagined that such a big turn of events would occur in just one day?

-

But in reality, their relationship can only be described as a turning point, not a transformation.

The two avoided discussing their infidelity that night, as if nothing had happened.

Pu Xia thought it was just a one-night stand between two people living under the same roof. As for what Xie Sheng thought, she didn't know.

After that day, she rarely saw him. He wasn't up when she woke up, and he hadn't returned when she was about to go to sleep.

She even maliciously speculated that this person might be a gigolo, working hard all night.

When she saw him again, her aunt and uncle had also returned, and she was about to start school.

This was a very memorable night.

Unfamiliar aunt and uncle, and an unfamiliar illegitimate son who she had a one-night stand with, all sat together to celebrate her upcoming school life;

Pu Xia smiled faintly and raised her glass to clink with her aunt and uncle.

"Xie Sheng! You brat, is your hand broken? You can't even lift a cup!" Auntie shouted at Xie Sheng in a loud voice.

Xie Sheng rubbed his ears impatiently, but still obediently did as he was told.

He looked at Pu Xia, his eyes full of mockery, "Congratulations to my cousin for condescending to come from such a distant international metropolis to study in Bai County."

Pu Xia smiled.

Look, what a bastard.

Even though they were so close, they still couldn't say anything nice.

She raised her glass and touched the rim of his glass, making a crisp sound.

"Thank you, cousin." She enunciated clearly, but her normal tone carried a hint of sarcasm.

"How dare you talk like that, you brat! You better pay attention in class this semester, or you might as well repeat the year until you're thirty!"

"Sounds pretty good, after all, going to school is quite easy," Xie Sheng replied lazily, still with his usual nonchalant attitude.

"Ha, you wait and see, I'll take care of you until you're eighty," Auntie said irritably.

-

The first day of school arrived quickly. Pu Xia finished getting ready to leave early, while Xie Sheng was just getting up.

He opened the door with his messy, unruly hair, and frowned when he saw Pu Xia. "What are you doing here so early?"

Is it early for her to leave home at 7:15 if she starts her morning reading at 7:30?

Seeing Pu Xia's "Are you still asleep?" expression, Xie Sheng chuckled inexplicably, ignored her, and turned to go into the bathroom.

When they arrived at the empty classroom, Pu Xia finally understood the meaning behind Xie Sheng's laughter.

Morning reading starts at 7:30, but not many people will actually attend.

Couldn't you just tell her about the situation?

Pu Xia mentally pounded Xie Sheng's head ten times.

Students began to appear in the classroom one after another after the bell rang to signal the end of morning self-study.

Her brightly colored hair made her school uniform, which should have been worn properly, more like decoration—sometimes draped over her shoulders, sometimes tied around her waist. In short, very few people wore the complete set like her.

I originally thought it was only the students who were like this, but I didn't expect the teachers to be so unusual as well.

As the school bell rang, a rather old-fashioned middle-aged man walked into the classroom. He had medium-length hair tied in a braid, a neatly trimmed beard, and was wearing a denim jacket, cargo pants, and Timberland sneakers.

He didn't look like a teacher at all, yet he pulled out a Chinese textbook.

......

The schools here really have an "open-minded atmosphere".

Pu Xia thought to himself.

Moreover, Bai County is a rather unassuming place, seemingly quite backward, but its people are exceptionally good-looking. Leaving aside Xie Sheng's striking appearance, which would stand out even in a crowd, his demeanor as a language arts teacher is also quite rare.

"Ahem, be quiet. Have you forgotten I'm your teacher after a whole holiday?"

"How could I forget you, Brother Yan?"

"You haven't forgotten? Be quiet! I have class to attend."

"Quiet! We have to give Brother Yan face!"

The classroom was still filled with laughter and chatter, but it was definitely much quieter now.

Teacher Yan looked around, his gaze finally landing on Pu Xia, as if he had just remembered something, and he looked as if he had just realized something.

"Look at my memory! We have a new student this semester, I think he's from City S. Come on, come up and introduce yourself to everyone."

Upon hearing his introduction, the classroom erupted in commotion. Pu Xia resignedly rose from the last row and walked towards the podium.

Just then, two voices called out from the classroom door, "Report!"

The classroom erupted in chaos.

Pu Xia was puzzled. He looked in the direction of the sound and saw two people standing at the door, one in front of the other.

She widened her eyes in surprise. The one leading the group was Xie Sheng. When he saw Pu Xia looking over, he raised an eyebrow and revealed a mischievous smile, silently mouthing "Surprised?"
