Chapter 20 Preparing Kimchi

Gu Lingchen watched Liu Sisi's departing figure, a smile appearing on his handsome face.

"We will definitely meet again."

He felt that the pain in his body had lessened considerably when he was talking to Liu Sisi.

"Young master, you should take the carriage back!" The servant came over with the coachman.

Gu Lingchen did not refuse this time and got into the carriage directly. He was indeed tired from chasing the thief and then focused on talking to Liu Sisi. Now he felt as if all his strength had been drained.

He leaned against the carriage with his eyes closed, his brows slightly furrowed, and spoke slowly.

"Ah Sheng, is there any news about Doctor Jiang?"

"Not yet! Our people found out the location of Medicine King Valley, but when they got there, the valley was deserted. We heard that Doctor Jiang rarely stays in the valley; he's always traveling around." A-Sheng replied.

Gu Lingchen put a pill in his mouth and didn't say anything.

As soon as Liu Sisi and her father arrived home, they saw Old Wang and He standing at the door knocking.

"Liu Dashi, you think you're all grown up now? You beat your brother like this, come out here!" Old Wang said, hands on her hips, looking like a shrew.

"What kind of elder brother are you? You have money but don't help your younger brother. You even beat him up like this. You heartless bastard, you deserve to die a horrible death!" Madam He joined her mother-in-law in cursing.

Wu, Liu Sifu, and Li Caiping had already overheard everything inside the house.

“Don’t open the door, let them curse. Your father said that when they come, don’t pay attention to them. They’ll leave when they’ve had their fill of cursing,” Wu said as she put the washed vegetables into a basin.

We're getting ready; we're inviting the villagers to a housewarming party tomorrow!

"Mother, sister-in-law, you've come to my house to cause trouble again. Why did I hit him yesterday? Wasn't it because he started it? Even I, the eldest brother, was hitting me. Can't I teach him a lesson?"

"Why didn't you all get so worked up when he hit me at the old house? Why is he so delicate now?"

Liu Dashi is no longer afraid of them; he is now known as "Niohuru Dashi".

"Liu Dashi, are you crazy? You beat your brother up like that, and you still dare to talk to your mother like that? Do you believe I'll send you to jail? You heartless bastard."

Seeing that she no longer held the same authority over her eldest son, Old Wang decided to threaten him by saying she would report him to the authorities.

“Go ahead! Go report to the authorities. I’ll also tell them about the previous division of the family property and my second brother’s attempt to beat up my elder brother. Let’s see who ends up in jail. Then we won’t be able to produce any promising scholars in the family. I’m not afraid of anything.”

“Mother, if you behave yourself and stop causing trouble, you are still my parents after all, and I will still be filial to you. But if you want to drive me to my death, then go ahead and try. From now on, I will beat you every time I see the second son on the road, until you stop causing trouble.”

Liu Dashi's words plunged Old Wang's heart into an ice cellar. How could her eldest son have become like this? Where had her son gone, the one who would never fight back or talk back when she was hit?

you……

She was genuinely afraid of her eldest son, fearing that her second son would be beaten again, so she pulled He Shi, who was still cursing, back to her own home.

He just cursed again, still unwilling to accept it, "Heartless bastard, he'll definitely get his comeuppance later."

Liu Dashi was also feeling bad; who would want to have such a falling out with their mother?

However, he thought that since he had never received love from his parents, he let it go. He used to think that if he was obedient and filial, they would love him more.

But that's not true, is it? Decades have passed, and I no longer expect anything. Now, if I'm a little harsher on her, she actually behaves herself.

Liu Sisi noticed that Liu Dashi was unhappy, and said sweetly, "Dad, let's go inside! We got another 500 taels today! I wonder if Mom will faint from happiness when she finds out!"

"Yes, Xiu Niang, we're back!" Liu Dashi's mood improved as soon as he saw his wife and daughter.

Outside the door, Li Guifen, watching from a distance, clenched her fists as Liu Sisi was surrounded by her parents.

"Hmph, I don't believe your family will fawn over you every day. The day you're all alone, you're doomed."

Li Guifen forgot the pain once the wound healed. Seeing Liu Sisi getting better and better, she harbored malicious thoughts again.

After Liu Sisi entered the room, she handed the silver notes to Wu Shi and said that she was tired and went back to her room.

Holding the 500 taels of silver notes in her hand, Madam Wu's ability to accept money had improved considerably. Since her daughter received the magical artifact from the snake fairy, she had everything, so it wasn't surprising that she could earn silver.

However, she still went to her room, took the silver notes, and locked them away. With so many silver notes, she had to keep them safe.

As soon as Liu Sisi entered the house, she went into her spatial dimension, poured out the radish, and went to the small kitchen behind the supermarket.

Wash the radish thoroughly, remove the ends, and cut it into even strips.

Place the chopped radish strips in a bowl, add an appropriate amount of salt, mix well by hand, and let them marinate for half an hour.

After pickling, rinse the radish strips in clean water to remove excess salt.

Place the drained radish strips in a bowl, add white sugar in a ratio of approximately 30:1 (radish: sugar), then add a spoonful of rice vinegar and stir well.

Prepare a clean, dry jar. Place the seasoned radish slices into the jar, add cooled boiled water until it just covers the radishes, cover the jar, and you're done.

She took the jar out of the room and placed it in a corner, letting it ferment for about three days.

Once this is done, if it tastes good, I'll teach it to my mother, then take other dishes from my space to cook, and then go to town to buy a shop so my parents can open one. That way, the family will have a legitimate business.

Liu Sisi went into her space again and opened the manual to take a look. It still prompted her that she needed to complete a task before she could learn the fifth level.

Ugh! I have to go up the mountain, otherwise I won't be able to find any quests!

Liu Sisi left the space and greeted Liu Dashi and Wu Shi, saying that the Snake Fairy had asked her to go up the mountain and give her a task.

That's the only explanation I can give now. We have enough vegetables at home, so I can't say we're going to dig for wild vegetables. This is the only reason I can get them to stop following me.

Liu Sifu was still worried. "Sister, why don't I go with you? Let's make sure we don't run into Li Guifen again."

"Don't worry, even if we run into her now, she'll be the one who suffers. I won't be at a disadvantage. Besides, the Snake Fairy doesn't allow anyone else to come along. She said I have to go by myself!"

"Alright! You must be careful then," Liu Sifu said, and then stopped following him.

After leaving her home, Liu Sisi leisurely hummed a little tune as she headed up the mountain.
