Chapter 26 Opening a Shop Together

Liu Sisi filled a teapot halfway with water from the Bagua River, then poured tea leaves and boiling water into the teapot after leaving the space.

Then he took a teacup, placed it on the plate, and served it.

"Young master, my family doesn't have any rare or expensive teas, only this unnamed black tea. I hope you won't find it unappealing," Liu Sisi said, pouring a cup of tea and handing it to Gu Lingchen.

Actually, she didn't have any tea at home; he took it all from his space. It was just ordinary black tea that people sold for a dozen yuan a pack. She didn't even know what the name was. When she opened the supermarket, she didn't know which tea would sell well, so she just randomly stocked a few kinds.

Gu Lingchen took the teacup and took a sip. It tasted like ordinary black tea, but after a while, he felt the pain in his body lessen considerably. He then drank the tea in the cup in one gulp.

Seeing that he really enjoyed the tea, Liu Sisi poured him another cup, and Gu Lingchen drank several cups of tea in a row.

The pain in his body gradually decreased, and eventually he even felt that his body was starting to have strength again.

"Miss Sisi, your tea is really delicious. I feel like my pain has lessened a lot after drinking it." Gu Lingchen's voice sounded much stronger than before when he spoke.

Liu Sisi knew that the Bagua River water must have played a role, but she couldn't say it!

"I'm glad the young master likes it. I was worried that my home was too humble and I wouldn't be able to entertain him properly!"

“Your place is beautiful with clear waters and lush mountains, how could it be shabby? Would you mind showing me around this area sometime, Miss Sisi?” Gu Lingchen asked.

Liu Sisi looked outside at the parched, yellow earth and withered trees, which hadn't rained for a long time.

She thought to herself, "This young master Gu is really good at making things up. Where did he get the idea that this barren land outside is beautiful with its clear waters and lush mountains?" But she couldn't very well refuse him, could she?

"Yes, once Young Master Gu is feeling better, my brothers and I will accompany you for a stroll."

Wu and Liu Dashi have already gone to prepare the meal; with such distinguished guests at their door, they must prepare some good food to entertain them.

“Young Master Gu, why don’t you have lunch here? I just don’t know if you’ll be able to enjoy our food,” Liu Dashi said.

"Uncle, you don't need to be so polite. Just call me Xiao Chen, no need to call me Young Master Gu." Gu Lingchen felt quite comfortable here and wanted to get closer to this family.

"Alright! Xiao Chen, you chat with Si Si for a bit, I'll go help your aunt in the kitchen." Liu Dashi had never met a young master from a wealthy family before, so he was always a little reserved when talking to Gu Lingchen.

"Can I call you Sisi, little sister?" Gu Lingchen suddenly asked.

"Hmm? Sure, it's fine to call me whatever you want, it's just a name," Liu Sisi, being a modern person, didn't care and didn't think too much about it.

“Then you can just call me Brother Lingchen, instead of Young Master Gu, it sounds too formal,” Gu Lingchen added.

Standing to the side, Ah Sheng's eyes almost popped out of their sockets. He thought to himself, "When did my master become so shameless? Is the same cold and aloof master who used to be the same person who is now asking a girl to call him 'brother'?"

"Huh? No need!" Liu Sisi felt there was something strange about calling him that.

Then he glanced at Gu Lingchen, who was staring at him intently.

"Is this guy interested in me? I'm only 8 years old!"

She then shook her head, trying to shake off some irrational thoughts. How could that be? How could such a handsome and wealthy young man be interested in her? He had already said that he had only come to thank her.

A thought suddenly struck her. "Young master, my family is thinking of opening a shop in town. Would you be interested in investing?"

"What do you mean?" Gu Lingchen asked, puzzled.

"Oh, it's just that I want to open a shop in town and I'm looking for a partner. I've heard that you need a powerful backer to prevent people from causing trouble when you open a shop. I think you're a good one."

"Oh, right, I'll go get my kimchi for you to try."

Liu Sisi quickly returned to her room and retrieved the jar of pickled radishes. It had only been pickled for two days; she didn't know if the flavor had penetrated yet.

She picked up a piece with her chopsticks and handed it directly to Gu Lingchen.

Ah Sheng stood to the side, thinking, "How could my master eat such a thing!"

Then he saw his master take the radish and take a bite. He broke out in a cold sweat. Why was his usually picky master acting so strangely today?

Gu Lingchen chewed a few times and swallowed, a look of amazement in his eyes.

"Hmm? It's sweet and sour, quite delicious. Are you planning to open a shop and sell this?"

"Yes, this is just one of them. I can also use other vegetables, such as cucumbers, bracken, etc. They are all delicious when made into kimchi."

"How about it? Are you interested?" Liu Sisi asked Gu Lingchen with some anticipation.

“Okay, I’ll put up a thousand taels to buy a shop and such. You can be in charge of selling and operating it. We’ll split the profits 40/60, you get 60% and I get 40%,” Gu Lingchen replied.

"You're giving me 60% without me paying anything? Wouldn't that be a huge bargain for me?" Liu Sisi said.

"No, I'm just providing the money, I don't care about anything else. The secret recipe is yours, so you'll have to worry about it more."

Okay, Liu Sisi thought to herself, a kimchi recipe isn't really a secret! Many people can make it these days, so this is a great deal.

“Okay, then you’ll be the largest shareholder of my kimchi shop.” Liu Sisi was very happy; she had found a big investor before the shop even opened.

"What does 'shareholder' mean?" I've heard you say it twice, Gu Lingchen was very curious.

"Yes, it means business partner. It's a new word I came up with myself." Liu Sisi often couldn't help but blurt out a modern term. Her family was used to it, so she said that the snake fairy taught her it.

When I have time, I'll go to the street with my dad to look at shops. You can come along too, and if we both like something, we'll buy it.

"I'll add some other snacks later, and make the shop a bit bigger." Liu Sisi became more talkative when she started talking about opening the shop.

"Okay, I'll listen to whatever Sisi says," Gu Lingchen said gently to Liu Sisi.

"Dinner's ready," Wu called to the two who were chatting happily.

Just then, Liu Sifu and Li Caiping returned from shopping in town for wedding supplies.

Liu Sixi finished preparing his herbs and introduced them to everyone before they started eating.

Gu Lingchen ate until he was stuffed for the first time at someone else's house, and he didn't even feel any pain in his body all day.

After dinner, Gu Lingchen and Liu Sisi made an appointment to go to town to look at shops three days later, and then Gu Lingchen went back with Asheng.

On the way, Ah Sheng could hardly keep up with his master's pace. Was his master feeling better? Ah Sheng followed behind, his head full of questions.
