Author's Closing Remarks

[Bowing deeply] First of all, thank you for accompanying me this article all the way here.

This book was rushed in the later stages. To be honest, I didn't intend to finish it so quickly, but I really couldn't write anymore.

Because it's based on the Spirit Hall's stance, some readers want to see the protagonist group crushed and trampled to death.

Many long-time readers know that I sided with Tang San in the previous book, so I really can't write something that's purely about torturing the protagonist.

As mentioned in the first chapter's reading guide, this is not an invincible protagonist crushing others and showing off. If you're looking for a transmigrated protagonist mindlessly stealing the original protagonist's opportunities or deliberately crushing the original protagonist, you won't find it. Instead, the story focuses on describing the positions of both sides and centers on infrastructure development.

As a result, some readers said that the beginning was too verbose and the progress was slow, and they didn't want to read about life inside the academy.

Fine, I'll cut the strait.

Later, it was written that Tang San was the protagonist, and it wouldn't be easy for him to kill the opponent. Then a bunch of people started babbling about how he had a cheat code, so why couldn't he be killed?

Okay, I'll go back and add a patch, making it explicitly state that Tang San can't kill the opponent before becoming a god.

While writing, he said he didn't want to look at the infrastructure. Can you please hurry up and start building?

I figured this was supposed to be about infrastructure development, right? I said that from the beginning, didn't I?

Then I was told with a straight face that I hadn't read the reading guide in the first chapter. I thought about it for a moment and decided to cut the guide.

Some people also wondered why the protagonist's first spirit ring was only a thousand years old.

Me: Huh? Are main characters equipped with such high-level gear these days?

Some people say not to pay attention to these voices, but I almost rely on live commentary to keep writing.

I read the comments every day; I simply can't ignore them.

What I remember most vividly is that when I was still diligently updating this book daily, one day I updated two chapters early, and when I opened the comments, almost all of them were negative.

Some people say that your two chapters are not even as long as others' one chapter, is that all?

Some people are saying, "How come there are only two chapters? Is the author just padding the story?"

Some people say the progress is too slow, and that they think they're amazing after just two chapters?

Then... then I stopped looking at the comments section outside the main site, and I stopped replying to every comment on the main site. Later on, I even forced myself to play in single-player mode.

I did have an outline, but after these few rounds, the original outline is completely different from what I expected. I can no longer find the original motivation to write this book. Maybe letting my two daughters meet is the last thing I will do.

After several books, I have to admit that I was pampered by readers but then met with a cold shoulder. I'm not easily hurt, but I'm still feeling exhausted.

I know that writing Douluo Continent will generate a lot of controversy and attract a lot of hostility, but I really can't stand it one after another.

Seeing this, I'm sure some people will say they can't stand the fact that you wrote Douluo Continent.

Ah yes, yes, you're absolutely right. But I just wanted to make up for a regret, and that's why I started writing this.

The updates have been intermittent and unstable because I kept revising the outline as I wrote, to the point that I didn't know how to write anymore. My mental state was really worrying towards the end, and I even thought about just expanding the outline and ending it.

But after struggling with myself, I still insisted on continuing to write. I blocked out the source of my distress, forced myself to check the comments only once a week or every two weeks, and spent the rest of the time pretending to write alone, just to get through it.

Regarding the short word count per chapter... Female-oriented novels typically have around two thousand words per chapter.

Reading only takes a few minutes, but the coding process takes a long time. I'm not an octopus, so my speed is just like this, I can't speed it up at all.

After the ending, I'm sure some people will say that the plot jumped too fast and that it had a bad ending.

But I think the ending for the Spirit Hall is already satisfactory, and that's enough. Now the burden can be lifted.

After a long absence, I opened the comments section again, and the mixed reactions were exactly what I expected. But thank you all for reading this article to the end.

"Moonlight is the last derivative fanfiction I'll be writing here; from now on, I'll only be writing original works."

Thank you to all the readers who have accompanied me this far.

If fate allows, see you in the next book. (bows)
