Chapter 108 Business Trip with Fu Linghe
"I have seen her," Cen Lian said suspiciously, obviously still not quite believing what Yun Zheng said.
"Yun Zheng, did Fu Linghe threaten you?"
This was the most reasonable explanation she could think of.
"No, no, it's true. The person you saw yesterday was indeed his aunt." Yun Zheng glanced at Fu Linghe beside her and hurriedly explained.
"Miss Cen, if you don't believe me, you can check it out anytime. My aunt's name is Fu Yuchu. Yu means "language" and Chu means "beginning of heart." She's my grandparents' daughter, born in their old age. She's only two years older than me. She's been abroad for years and just returned yesterday."
Fu Linghe knew that his wife only knew that Fu Yuchu was his aunt and knew nothing else. He had to tell her the details in person, so he immediately spoke up.
Cen Lian on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment before continuing, "I will naturally check it out, why do I need to tell you!"
After Cen Lian'an said this, the matter with Fu Yuchu was over.
Yun Zheng and the other person chatted for a while before hanging up the phone.
After hanging up the phone, the couple continued to eat breakfast.
After breakfast and a short rest, Fu Linghe got up and went to the refrigerator to get a small cake for Yun Zheng.
Yun Zheng ate the small piece of cake that she had not eaten yesterday because she was jealous.
The cream is delicate, sweet but not greasy, and melts in your mouth.
She squinted her eyes contentedly, like a satisfied cat.
Fu Linghe looked at her with eyes full of doting, and reached out to wipe the cream from the corner of her mouth.
Just then, Fu Linghe's cell phone rang.
He withdrew his hand and glanced at the caller ID. It was Qin Yichen, the CEO of his overseas branch and also his good friend.
He picked up the phone and his expression became increasingly serious.
The voice on the other end of the phone was hurried and anxious. Fu Linghe frowned slightly, and his slender fingers tapped rhythmically on the armrest of the sofa, as if he was thinking about something.
"I understand. I'll go over and deal with it right away." He responded briefly and then hung up the phone.
Yun Zheng noticed his strange behavior, put down the fork in her hand, and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Fu Linghe put away his phone and regained his composure, but there was still a hint of urgency in his tone. "There's a problem at the branch office, and I need to go there personally to handle it."
Yun Zheng was stunned for a moment, then nodded, "Then go get busy and don't delay the important things."
Fu Linghe looked at her, suddenly smiled, and reached out to rub the top of her head, "Do you want to go with me?"
"Ah?" Yun Zheng was a little surprised and blinked. "Is it appropriate for me to go?"
"Why is it inappropriate?" Fu Linghe raised an eyebrow, his tone teasing, "You are my wife, it is only natural for you to accompany me on business trips. Besides, I am worried about you being alone at home."
Yun Zheng blushed, lowered her head, and used a fork to stir the unfinished piece of cake he had eaten, muttering softly, "How could I be so troublesome..."
Fu Linghe chuckled, leaned close to her ear, and whispered in a low voice, "Who was the drunk one last night who insisted on tattooing me with a toad's blood? Huh?"
Yun Zheng's face flushed red instantly, and she reached out and pushed him, "You...you don't say anything!"
Fu Linghe took her hand and said gently, "Okay, I won't tease you anymore. Go pack your luggage, we'll be leaving soon. I'll take you out for a walk. If you don't go out, you'll get bored."
Yun Zheng hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded: "Okay."
She got up and went to her room to pack her luggage, while Fu Linghe made a phone call to arrange the itinerary and flight tickets. When he finished the call, Yun Zheng had already come out dragging a small suitcase.
Fu Linghe took her suitcase and took her hand, "Let's go, the driver is waiting downstairs."
The two drove all the way to the airport, and Fu Linghe's phone kept ringing on the way.
While he was dealing with his work, he would occasionally glance sideways at Yun Zheng. Seeing her sitting quietly beside him, he felt inexplicably more at ease.
When they arrived at the airport, Fu Linghe took Yun Zheng's hand and walked straight to the VIP channel.
Yun Zheng followed behind him and looked at his tall and straight back, a warm feeling suddenly welling up in her heart.
Whenever Yun Zheng walks with Fu Linghe, she always feels inexplicably at peace.
After boarding the plane, Fu Linghe fastened Yun Zheng's seat belt and handed her a thin blanket. "If you're tired, take a nap. I'll call you when we get there."
Yun Zheng nodded, leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes.
After the plane took off, she fell asleep in a daze. In her dream, she seemed to go back to last night. Fu Linghe held her in his arms and whispered something in her ear, gently and affectionately.
When she woke up, the plane had already landed.
Fu Linghe patted her little face gently and called her in a soft voice, "Zheng Zheng... wake up! We're here, let's go."
Yun Zheng rubbed her eyes and followed him off the plane. As soon as she walked out of the airport, someone from the branch office was already waiting at the door. When they saw Fu Linghe, they immediately came over and said, "Mr. Fu, the car is ready."
Fu Linghe nodded and took Yun Zheng into the car.
The car sped all the way and soon arrived at the branch.
Fu Linghe settled Yun Zheng in the office lounge and said softly, "You rest here first. I'll go take care of something and be back soon."
Yun Zheng nodded obediently: "Go and do your work, don't worry about me."
After Fu Linghe left, Yun Zheng walked around the lounge and found that it was decorated very warmly. There was a bouquet of fresh jasmine flowers on the table, emitting a faint fragrance.
She sat on the sofa and picked up a magazine to read. As she was reading, her eyelids suddenly felt heavy and she fell asleep on the sofa.
It was already evening when Fu Linghe finished dealing with the company's affairs.
He pushed open the door of the lounge and saw Yun Zheng curled up on the sofa, sleeping soundly.
Her long hair fell beside her cheeks, and her breathing was even and gentle, like a quiet kitten.
The setting sun outside the window shone through the gauze curtains, casting a soft halo on her.
He tiptoed over, squatted down, and looked at her sleeping face quietly.
Her eyelashes trembled slightly, as if she was dreaming, with a faint smile on the corner of her mouth.
Fu Linghe's heart suddenly softened. He reached out and gently brushed the hair off her cheek. His fingertips touched her warm skin, and an indescribable pity surged in his heart.
"Should I not have brought you here?" he whispered to himself, frowning slightly.
He had arranged this trip on the spur of the moment and had not prepared anything, but out of momentary selfishness, he had forced himself to bring her out.
Thinking of this, Fu Linghe felt a little guilty.
He reached out and gently stroked her cheek, whispering, "I'm sorry, Zheng Zheng, I'm too selfish."
Yun Zheng seemed to feel his touch, hummed softly, and slowly opened her eyes.
Her eyes were still a little hazy. Seeing Fu Linghe squatting in front of her, she was stunned for a moment, then smiled faintly, "You're back?"
Fu Linghe nodded and said softly, "Hmm, did I wake you up?"
Yun Zheng shook her head, propped herself up on the sofa, and rubbed her eyes. "No, I wasn't sleeping very deeply anyway. Have you finished your business?"
"Almost." Fu Linghe sat down beside her, stretched out his hands to hold her in his arms, and rested his chin on the top of her head. "Are you tired? Should I not have brought you here?"
Yun Zheng leaned on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat, and shook her head, "Not tired."
In fact, she was not completely free of fatigue, but compared to Fu Linghe, she was already quite relaxed.
He had been busy processing documents all the way and immediately held a meeting when he arrived at the company. Yun Zheng had taken several naps after all, so she naturally didn't feel very tired.
