Chapter 199 He Should Be a Good Father!
The next morning.
Yun Zheng slowly woke up from her sleep, and subconsciously groped towards her side in a daze, but her fingertips only touched a slightly cool bed sheet.
When she opened her eyes, Fu Linghe was no longer by her side. Only a trace of his unique cool woody scent remained on the pillow.
Outside the window, the winter sun shines through the beige gauze curtains, casting mottled light and shadows on the dark gray sheets.
Yun Zheng habitually raised her hand to touch the mobile phone on the bedside and glanced at the time.
At this time, Fu Linghe must have gone to the company.
She buried her face in his pillow and took a deep breath. The familiar cold fragrance made her unconsciously curl the corners of her lips.
After staying in bed for a while, Yun Zheng slowly got up.
She stretched her body barefoot on the soft shag carpet, and her silk nightgown outlined her slender waistline as she moved.
In the bathroom, Fu Linghe had already squeezed toothpaste for her. The jasmine tea-flavored toothpaste formed a small emerald green peak on the toothbrush.
After washing up, Yun Zheng just walked into the corridor when she heard a burst of laughter coming from the living room downstairs.
Yun Yanqing's clear and crisp laughter was as sweet as a silver bell, occasionally interspersed with Fu Linghe's low voice. The voice was much softer than usual in the company, with her familiar gentle accent.
This unusual combination made Yun Zheng speed up her pace.
She held onto the railing of the oak staircase and looked down, only to see Fu Linghe sitting on the living room carpet in light gray home clothes, his sleeves casually rolled up, revealing his well-defined forearms.
The sunlight shone on him through the floor-to-ceiling windows, giving him a soft outline of light.
His slender fingers were patiently helping Yun Yancheng adjust the position of a Lego part, and his expression was as focused as if he was reviewing some important document.
Yun Zheng noticed that his thick eyelashes cast a small shadow under his eyes, and his high nose bridge formed a perfect arc on his side face.
"It needs to be turned here, yes, that's it." Fu Linghe's voice was much softer than usual, and his fingertips gently tapped the blue part.
His nails were neatly trimmed, and a few light blue veins were faintly visible on the back of his hands with distinct knuckles.
If he had a child, you would probably be a good father.
Yun Yancheng sat cross-legged opposite him, wearing pajamas with a little dinosaur pattern on them, his short, slightly curly hair sticking up in a messy manner.
While concentrating on building Lego, he didn't forget to praise Fu Linghe, "Brother-in-law, you are amazing! I spent a long time on this part."
The little guy looked up and suddenly found Yun Zheng standing on the stairs. He immediately waved to her excitedly, a bright smile on his face. "Sister! My brother-in-law is playing Lego with me. Come down and join us!"
Fu Linghe looked up when he heard the voice. The morning sunlight shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto his profile, outlining a gentle outline.
His gaze paused slightly when it met Yun Zheng's. Then, a barely perceptible arc curved up the corners of his lips, softening his whole demeanor. "Awake?"
Yun Zheng walked down the stairs slowly, the hem of her silk nightgown swaying gently with her steps, shining like pearls in the sunlight.
She noticed a cup of steaming honey water on the coffee table, and the coaster was her favorite one with a tulip pattern.
The living room was filled with the aroma of freshly ground coffee, mixed with the warm smell of toasted bread.
Outside the floor-to-ceiling window, the winter cherry trees in the courtyard are in full bloom, and a few swallows are jumping around on the branches.
"Not going to the company today?" Yun Zheng sat down next to Fu Linghe and smoothed down the raised corner of Yun Yancheng's clothes.
She noticed that Fu Linghe did not comb his hair back as usual today. A few strands of black hair hung casually in front of his forehead, making him look more youthful.
Fu Linghe handed the last Lego piece to Yun Yancheng. When he turned to look at Yun Zheng, his gaze lingered on her exposed collarbone for a second. "Let's go this afternoon."
He reached out and tucked a strand of her long hair behind her ear, his fingertips accidentally brushing against her earlobe, bringing a subtle shudder.
Yun Zheng picked up the honey water on the table and took a sip, the warm sweetness spreading on the tip of her tongue.
She murmured, "Yeah."
"Acheng, I'll take you home after dinner." Yun Zheng said softly as she looked at Yun Yancheng who was concentrating on building Lego.
When Yun Yancheng heard that he was going to be sent back, his originally bright eyes dimmed instantly, and his long eyelashes cast a shadow on his face. "Sister, can you not go back so soon?"
His voice suddenly dropped, and his fingers unconsciously scratched the bumps on the Lego parts.
Ever since Yun Zheng left home, the whole family has been turned upside down by Yun Ruzhu.
The atmosphere at home was as depressing as it could be, and Yun Yancheng was not getting along with that green tea bitch Yun Ruzhu.
Yun Zheng knew the so-called "sister" too well. She pretended to be well-behaved and lovely on the surface, but was actually the darkest and most venomous snake behind the scenes.
Yun Yancheng calmly put down the small parts in his hand, moved to Yun Zheng's side, and grabbed the corner of her nightgown with his small hands, like a small animal seeking shelter.
He complained aggrievedly, his voice choked with sobs, "Sis, ever since you left, that house has become less and less like a home. With that annoying guy at home, Ah Cheng can't stand it even for a minute."
Yun Zheng certainly knew who the annoying person Yun Yancheng was talking about.
Apart from Yun Ruzhu, he didn't have such deep hostility towards anyone else.
Yun Zheng hugged Yun Yancheng in her arms with heartache, and could feel the little boy's thin shoulders trembling slightly.
She softened her voice and said, "Acheng, it's not that I don't agree with you living here, it's that you lived here without telling them, and they would worry about you."
Although Yun Yancheng is only 6 years old, he has his own judgment.
He already understood that the home was no longer the home it once was.
They even kicked out Sister Yun Zheng, who had lived with them for more than 20 years, from the house. What else can't they do?
The little boy is so sensible that it makes people feel distressed. He knows that living here will bring trouble to Yun Zheng.
"Okay, Acheng understands." Yun Yancheng was a little disappointed, but still responded obediently.
He lowered his head, crystal tears hanging on his long eyelashes, but he stubbornly refused to let them fall.
Yun Zheng's heart felt like it was being grabbed by an invisible hand.
She rubbed her brother's furry little head, the hair as soft as the fur of a small animal. "Acheng is so good. What do you want to eat? I'll ask Sister Chen to make it for you. You can continue to play Lego with your brother-in-law."
Yun Yancheng raised his head from her arms, tears still lingering on his face, but he managed to force a smile. "Acheng likes to eat whatever his sister likes to eat."
He said this obediently, moved back to Fu Linghe, and continued to build the unfinished Lego castle.
Fu Linghe watched all this silently, a complex emotion flashing in his deep eyes.
He reached out and ruffled Yun Yancheng's hair, his movements incredibly gentle. "Let's finish building this castle today. Next time, I'll buy you a new series of battleships, okay?"
Yun Yancheng raised his eyes to look at Fu Linghe, and curled his lips with a lack of interest, "Okay."
Yun Zheng got up and went to the kitchen when she saw the two of them continued playing with Lego.
