Chapter 211 It’s so important that I can give you everything except my life!

The last note flowed out from Fu Linghe's slender fingertips, like a wisp of lingering smoke, dissipating in the gentle warm sun of winter.

The sycamore tree in the courtyard rustled, and a few yellow leaves swirled and fell on the piano lid.

"Fu Linghe."

The sound of the Yun Zheng and the last sound of the piano sounded at the same time, intertwined with each other without any difference.

She sat on the swing, her fingers unconsciously twisting the hem of her skirt. It was obvious that she had been struggling for a long time and had made up her mind before calling him.

Fu Linghe's fingertips were still hovering above the keys. He paused slightly when he heard the words, but then he quickly adjusted his mood.

He slowly turned his head, his deep eyes filled with indelible tenderness.

The mottled sunlight passed through the gaps between the branches and leaves, dancing on his angular profile, outlining a hazy halo.

"Hmm?" He responded softly, the ending syllable trembling slightly like the lingering sound of a guitar string.

Yun Zheng stood up from the swing, and the fine sand made a slight friction sound on the soles of her feet.

She walked towards him, her white skirt fluttering in the wind, and a few blue and purple petals fell from her skirt, sparkling in the sunlight.

She stood in the halo, her hair swaying gently in the breeze, her shadow cast obliquely on the ground, almost touching his toes.

"I've thought about it." Her voice was soft, but like a drop of water falling into a quiet lake.

Fu Linghe's fingertips tightened unconsciously, then slowly loosened.

The piano bench made a slight creak as he stood up. "I'm listening."

The three words were restrained and calm, but his eyes fell gently on her face.

The wind stopped and even the petals stopped falling.

A few clear bird calls came from afar, adding a bit of liveliness to the silence at this moment.

Yun Zheng took two steps forward, and another petal fell gracefully from the hem of her skirt.

"I don't want to work at ANT anymore." She looked straight into Fu Linghe's eyes, "but I still want to go and take a look."

Fu Linghe raised the corners of his lips slightly, and his voice was full of tenderness: "Okay, I'll go with you."

"Thank you, Fu Linghe." Yun Zheng raised a faint smile at the corner of her lips and took the initiative to put her arms around Fu Linghe's neck.

Fu Linghe gently held her wrist, rubbing it with his fingertips. "Zheng Zheng, you're still so polite."

Yun Zheng looked at the man's handsome face and curled the corners of her lips slightly.

Fu Linghe smiled and let go of her hand, then took her fingertips and said, "Let's go. It's cold outside, so go back first."

The afterglow of the setting sun shone on the two of them, stretching their shadows very long.

Fu Linghe carefully tidied Yun Zheng's hair that was messed up by the wind, and then took off his coat and put it on her shoulders.

The house was warm and soft lights were already on in the living room.

"Are you hungry?" Fu Linghe asked softly, his fingertips gently stroking the back of her hand.

Yun Zheng nodded, the tip of her nose slightly red from the cold.

She had been struggling with whether to join the ANT Research Institute and had no appetite. Now she has figured it out and made a decision, and can eat.

Fu Linghe placed his warm palm on her cheek to dispel the coldness for her. "I'll have someone prepare the meal. Go wash your hands first."

"Okay." Yun Zheng responded and went to wash her hands briskly.

Fu Linghe looked at the back of his young wife, curled the corners of his lips lovingly, and finally let go of his worries.

His little ancestor's mood is finally better, otherwise he wouldn't know what to do for the time being.

The dinner was very sumptuous, with the table full of Yun Zheng’s favorite dishes.

Fu Linghe poured a bowl of hot soup and placed it in front of her. "Drink some soup to warm yourself up first."

The spoon made a crisp sound when it hit the bowl wall.

Yun Zheng took small sips of the drink. In the steamy atmosphere, she saw Fu Linghe concentrating on picking out the fish bones and putting the most tender parts into her bowl.

After dinner, Fu Linghe went to the study to deal with some urgent documents.

"You rest first, I'll be fine soon." He placed a light kiss on her forehead.

Yun Zheng shook her head. "I'm not sleepy now. Can I go to the study with you?"

She followed him, looking up at him like a clingy kitten.

Yun Zheng took the initiative to accompany him! Mr. Fu naturally wanted it very much.

In the study, the desk lamp casts a warm glow.

Fu Linghe sat at his desk, his head down as he worked diligently on documents, with gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose, giving him the air of a gentleman villain from a novel.

Yun Zheng curled up on a single sofa not far away, secretly glanced at Fu Linghe several times, and only looked away after she had feasted her eyes on him did she pick up a book and read it.

Gradually, the sound of turning pages became slower and slower.

When Fu Linghe finished the work at hand and looked up, he found that Yun Zheng had fallen asleep with her head tilted.

The book slipped onto her knees, and her long hair fell beside her cheeks, rising and falling gently with her breathing.

He put down the documents, took off his gold-rimmed glasses and placed them on the table, then tiptoed over to her.

The soft light shone on her face, making her look particularly peaceful.

Fu Linghe carefully lifted the back of her neck and let her lean on his shoulder.

"Hmm..." Yun Zheng rubbed unconsciously, finding a more comfortable position.

The corners of Fu Linghe's lips rose unconsciously, and he picked her up sideways. The weight in his arms made a soft ripple in his heart.

He carried her to the bedroom, and the wall lamp in the corridor stretched their shadows very long.

When Fu Linghe put the person on the bed, Yun Zheng opened her eyes vaguely.

When she saw the man's extremely handsome face so close to her, she suddenly became sober.

But he was still stunned for a moment, and looked up at Fu Linghe blankly, "Have you finished your work?"

"Well, it's almost done." Fu Linghe responded in a low voice.

He looked down at her for a long time, then lowered his head and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Zheng Zheng, do you know how important you are to me?" Fu Linghe's voice was soft and restrained, and it was particularly clear in the quiet room.

He moved a little further away so that Yun Zheng could see the seriousness in his eyes.

Yun Zheng raised her head slightly, met his gaze, and waited for his answer.

Outside the window, moonlight shines through the gauze curtains, casting a silver glow on the ground, making the outlines of the two people look particularly soft.

Fu Linghe raised his hand and tucked a strand of hair from her temple behind her ear, his fingertips briefly lingering on her earlobe.

"It's so important..." He paused, his voice solemn, "Except my life, I can give you everything else."

Fu Linghe's lips gently touched the corner of her mouth, and then left.

"It's not that I'm afraid of death," he whispered, "but I want to keep this life with you forever, so I can't bear to give it up."

Yun Zheng's eyelashes trembled slightly and her breathing became long.

She subconsciously grasped the corner of his clothes, her knuckles turning slightly white.

The two people's shadows overlapped on the wall, stretched out by the moonlight.

The only sounds left in the room were the ticking of the clock and the intertwining of their breathing.

Fu Linghe gently wrapped her hand in his palm, feeling the warmth of her fingertips...

Two hours later, in the bathroom, the mist blurred the mirror.

Fu Linghe ran his slender fingers through her wet hair, his movements as gentle as if he were handling fragile porcelain.

"Itchy..." Yun Zheng shrank her neck, and drops of water rolled down her red shoulders.

Fu Linghe chuckled softly, then withdrew his hand and picked up the bath ball beside him. He squeezed two drops of shower gel into it, kneaded it into dense foam, and carefully helped her bathe.

The scented candles on the edge of the bathtub flickered with warm light, dyeing the water mist amber.

She is much more obedient when she is sober than when she is drunk. In addition, Fu Linghe has personally served his wife many times, so he is naturally familiar with it now.

He helped her take a bath, wrapped her tightly in a bath towel, and then carried her back to bed.

By the time Yun Zheng changed into her silk pajamas, her eyelids were already drooping with sleepiness.

When Fu Linghe was tying her belt, his Adam's apple rolled unconsciously, but in the end he was reluctant to wake her up again.

He just buried his face in the crook of her neck that smelled of shower gel and called her in a muffled voice, "Zheng Zheng..."

Yun Zheng reached out her hand to push him away in a daze, but he held her hand instead. His warm lips kissed her palm deeply, and suddenly picked her up by the waist.

The sudden feeling of weightlessness made Yun Zheng gasp softly, and she instinctively hugged his neck tightly.

Fu Linghe raised the corners of his mouth, revealing a warm smile, "Although you are a little heartless, I will always be with you."

He gently placed a kiss on Yun Zheng's lips, and that kiss was filled with endless tenderness and promises.

In the master bedroom, Fu Linghe gently placed Yun Zheng on the bed and covered her with a blanket.

He sat down beside the bed and looked at her peaceful sleeping face quietly.

"Good night, Zheng Zheng." He said softly, and his voice dissipated in the quiet night.

The moment Yun Zheng touched the bed, she turned over comfortably and slept soundly with the quilt in her arms.
