Chapter 231 Attending the Birthday Banquet

Chapter 231 Attending the Birthday Banquet

The next morning, sunlight shone through the gauze curtains onto the bedroom carpet, creating a warm halo.

Yun Zheng curled up in the duvet, with a faint blush on the exposed half of her face.

Her eyelashes trembled a few times, and finally she slowly opened her eyes.

She habitually reached for the phone on the bedside table and checked the time.

The moment she saw it clearly, Yun Zheng sat up suddenly and then let out a soft cry because of the pain in her waist.

She rubbed her temples, and the memories of last night came flooding back. They both stayed up all night again and slept too late.

The door was gently pushed open and Fu Linghe walked in carrying a breakfast tray.

He was already dressed, even though he was only wearing simple home clothes, but on his natural clothes hanger, he wore them with a unique charm.

"Are you awake?" He put the tray on the bedside table with a smile on his face. "I made your favorite muffins. Get up and have some."

Yun Zheng pulled the quilt over her chest and glared at him angrily, "Why didn't you wake me up? It's so late."

Fu Linghe leaned over and kissed her forehead. "I must have tired you out last night. I didn't want to wake you up so early."

His voice was low and gentle, and his fingertips gently brushed the red mark on her collarbone. "Mr. Lin's birthday party doesn't start until this afternoon, so we'll definitely make it."

Yun Zheng took the honey lemon water he handed her and took a sip.

She noticed the faint blue color under Fu Linghe's eyes, "Didn't you sleep well?"

Fu Linghe paused slightly as he was adjusting his cufflinks, then smiled nonchalantly and said, "I got up early to deal with some work."

He walked to the cloakroom. "I've prepared the dress for you. Let's see if you like it after we finish eating."

"Okay, have you eaten?" Yun Zheng asked as she got out of bed.

"I've eaten, hurry up and wash up and eat."

After saying this, Fu Linghe turned and went into the cloakroom.

As soon as he walked in, his little shadow followed him in.

The light in the cloakroom came on, and a haze blue long dress hung in the middle.

The dress is made of silk and has delicate dark patterns embroidered on the hem. It is neither too flashy nor too sophisticated.

Next to it hangs a cashmere coat of the same color, and another men's coat of the same style but a different color.

"Couple outfits?" She couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Is Mr. Fu becoming more and more romantic?"

Fu Linghe put his arms around her waist from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder. "Don't you like it?"

"I like it." Yun Zheng turned around and put her arms around his neck. "Mr. Fu always has good taste."

Fu Linghe stared into her eyes and suddenly said ambiguously, "Zhengzheng, no matter what happens, no matter what choice you make, I will always support you."

Yun Zheng was stunned. "Why are you suddenly saying this?"

"Nothing." He released her hand and returned to his normal tone. "Hurry up and have breakfast. The makeup artist will be here in an hour."

Yun Zheng nodded, said nothing more, and went to wash up and have breakfast obediently.

After breakfast, the makeup artist arrived.

When Yun Zheng sat in front of the makeup mirror, Fu Linghe's phone vibrated.

He took a look at the message from Special Assistant Qi, which was the information on Mo Xinrou that he had asked him to look up yesterday.

Fu Linghe just clicked it and took a casual look without looking at it carefully.

The answer was already in his mind anyway, so there was no need to read it.

Yun Zheng was sitting in front of the dressing table, and the makeup artist was adding the final touch of eyeliner to her.

The haze blue dress made her skin look as white as snow, and her slightly curly long hair fell on her shoulders, shining softly under the light.

Fu Linghe pushed the door open and walked in, standing behind her and staring at her in the mirror.

He took the diamond earrings from the makeup artist and put them on her himself.

The cold fingertips accidentally brushed against her earlobe, causing Yun Zheng to tremble slightly.

"So beautiful." His low voice was filled with undisguised admiration. He placed his hands on her bare shoulders and leaned over to place a kiss on her hair.

Yun Zheng met his gaze in the mirror, a sweet smile on her lips. "Mr. Fu is particularly good at talking today."

Fu Linghe chuckled and took out a velvet box from his suit pocket like magic.

An exquisite diamond brooch, shaped like two overlapping feathers, shimmered in the light, echoing the subtle pattern of her gown.

"It's so beautiful." He gently pinned the brooch on her. "My Zheng Zheng is so beautiful that I can't take my eyes off her."

Yun Zheng raised her hand and gently stroked the diamond brooch, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes, "It's so beautiful, when did you buy it?"

"It doesn't matter when you bought it, what matters is that Zheng Zheng likes it."

The makeup artist tactfully left the room, gently closing the door, leaving the space for the young couple.

Yun Zheng's eyes welled up with tears. She stood on tiptoe and pecked him lightly on the lips. "What should I do? Mr. Fu is so perfect, I almost wonder if I'm dreaming."

Fu Linghe tightened his arms, locking her tightly in his embrace, and said in a hoarse voice, "How about this?"

He bent down and kissed her lips. Unlike the gentle kiss in the morning, this kiss was filled with irresistible possessiveness.

Yun Zheng's legs went limp from his kiss, and she could only hold tightly onto the front of his suit.

"Ding——" Fu Linghe's cell phone alarm rang suddenly.

He reluctantly let go of her, pressed his hand against her forehead and sighed, "If you don't leave now, you'll really be late."

Yun Zheng blushed as she fixed her messed-up hair and muttered softly, "It was you who started it first..."

Fu Linghe smiled and put his coat on her, then took her hand and said, "Let's go, Mrs. Fu."

The two walked out of the door holding hands. The driver had been waiting for a long time.

The early winter sun shone through the car window onto their clasped hands, and their wedding rings sparkled in the light.

The car slowly drove to the address on Mr. Lin’s invitation.

Fu Linghe got out of the car first, put his hand on Yun Zheng's waist, and led her out of the car steadily.

The carved door of the banquet hall was open, and the melodious sound of a violin could be heard faintly.

Yun Zheng had just adjusted the hem of her skirt when she heard hurried footsteps.

"I'm here! I'm finally here!" Old Master Lin walked briskly among the guests, his silver-white temples trembling slightly with his movements.

The old man was wearing a dark red Tang suit today, with an old pocket watch hanging on his chest. He looked very energetic and didn't look like he was in his seventies.

It was as if he was deliberately waiting here, just waiting for the two of them to come.

Fu Linghe was about to open his mouth to greet her when Elder Lin had already grabbed Yun Zheng's wrist, his wrinkled hand trembling with excitement. "Zheng Zheng, I thought you weren't coming?"

"We promised you yesterday and we will definitely not go back on our word." Yun Zheng turned her head to glance at Fu Linghe beside her, then retracted her gaze and said to the old man with a smile.
