Chapter 266 I Care About You More Than Them!

Chapter 266 I Care About You More Than Them!

Yun Zheng had just taken two steps when a black Rolls-Royce suddenly stopped in front of her.

The sound of tires rubbing against the ground was sharp and shrill. The car window rolled down, revealing Fu Linghe's well-defined face.

He pushed the door open and got out of the car. His suit jacket was slightly lifted by the wind, and he exuded a fierce aura.

Yun Zheng looked at the man in front of her who was standing there in a daze, his fingertips still on the bag buckle. She obviously didn't expect that he would suddenly appear here when he was supposed to be in a meeting at the company.

Fu Linghe walked around to the passenger seat and opened the door for her with quick and decisive movements.

His eyes swept over her face, as if confirming something, and then he whispered, "Get in the car."

Yun Zheng pursed her lips, didn't ask any more questions, and sat in obediently.

The car door closed and Fu Linghe returned to the driver's seat, but did not start the car immediately.

The car was so quiet that the only sound was each other's breathing.

Fu Linghe's fingers were on the steering wheel, his knuckles slightly white, and he was obviously trying hard to restrain something.

He turned sideways, reached out and gently pinched her chin, forcing her to look up at him.

"Are you hurt?" he asked, his voice low and calm, but the emotions surging in his eyes betrayed him.

Yun Zheng shook her head, "No."

He rubbed his thumb lightly under her eye, as if to make sure she hadn't cried.

Then he let go of her hand and checked her wrist again, his movements so meticulous that they were almost paranoid.

"It's really okay." She whispered to soothe his tense mood.

But she let him check without stopping him. Yun Zheng knew that he needed such confirmation to feel at ease.

After completing the inspection, Fu Linghe finally stopped, leaned back in his seat, and looked forward with a serious look.

The warm sunlight outside the car window hit the side of his face, outlining a sharp outline.

"Didn't you go to see Miss Cen? Why are you here?" He spoke in a calm tone, as if asking about today's weather.

Yun Zheng knew that the calmer he was, the more it showed that his suppressed emotions had reached a critical point.

She didn't intend to lie and said directly, "I'm here to meet the Mo family."

Fu Linghe tapped his knuckles on the steering wheel. The sound was very light, but it seemed like a precursor to some suppressed explosion.

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked, still not looking at her, but his voice was slightly tense.

Yun Zheng was silent for a moment before she whispered, "I was afraid you'd worry."

"Heh." Fu Linghe laughed briefly and finally turned to look at her, the darkness in his eyes thick and deep. "So you lied to me and said you were going to see Cen Li'an?"

Yun Zheng pursed her lips and did not deny it.

Fu Linghe stared at her for a few seconds, then suddenly reached out and grabbed the back of her neck, pulling her close. He rested his forehead against hers, his breath hot. "Yun Zheng, do you know what was going through my mind when I received the news that you were here?"

His voice was low, with a barely perceptible tremor, "I was wondering, if that bastard Mo Shian dared to make you shed another tear, would I just kill him?"

Yun Zheng's heart trembled, and she reached out to cover his wrist. "Fu Linghe, I'm really fine. They just... want me to recognize them."

Fu Linghe closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, the hostility in his eyes faded a little, but it was still so deep that it was frightening.

"You can go see them, I won't stop you," he said slowly, "but next time, don't go alone."

Yun Zheng nodded, "Okay."

Fu Linghe then let go of her, started the car, the engine hummed, and the car slowly drove away from the hotel.

The car fell silent again, but this time the atmosphere was much more relaxed.

Yun Zheng turned her head to look at the rapidly receding scenery outside the window and whispered, "Are you angry?"

Fu Linghe didn't answer immediately. He only turned to look at her when the traffic light turned red. "I'm scared. I'm worried that your emotions will get out of control again."

Just a simple sentence made Yun Zheng's heart soften.

She reached out and covered his hand on the steering wheel, and gently scratched his palm with her fingertips. "I'm sorry, I won't do it again next time."

Fu Linghe held her fingers with his backhand, interlocking their fingers with such force that it almost hurt her, but he soon relaxed a little and gently rubbed his thumb on the back of her hand.

"What did they say?" he asked calmly.

"They said that my recognition of them and being with you wouldn't conflict." Yun Zheng had no intention of hiding anything from him and spoke directly, "They also said that they could put aside the grudge between our two families for my sake."

Fu Linghe's fingers suddenly tightened, his knuckles turned white, and the steering wheel trembled slightly as he gripped it.

He stared at the road ahead, his Adam's apple rolling, his voice so low it was almost inaudible, "So...what was your answer?"

Yun Zheng could hear the sound of her own heartbeat, again and again, so clear that it seemed like it was about to jump out of her chest.

She turned her head and looked at Fu Linghe's tense profile. The sunlight shone through the car window onto his eyelashes, casting a small shadow, but it couldn't hide the barely perceptible panic in his eyes.

Yun Zheng suddenly reached out and held Fu Linghe's face, forcing him to look into her eyes.

Her fingertips trembled slightly, but her eyes were extremely firm.

"Fu Linghe." Yun Zheng's voice was as light as a feather, yet it carried undeniable strength. "I told you it was never a choice."

Fu Linghe's pupils suddenly contracted and his breathing stopped for a moment.

"From the beginning to the end, my answer is only you," she said word by word. "No 'or' or 'but', only you."

The air in the car seemed to freeze.

Fu Linghe's Adam's apple rolled up and down, and a turbulent emotion surged in his eyes.

He stared at Yun Zheng intently, as if he wanted to engrave her current appearance into his DNA.

"Say it again." The man's voice was hoarse.

Yun Zheng leaned close to him, their noses almost touching, and she spoke again, "Fu Linghe, I only want you."

Before she could finish her words, she was pressed into a hot embrace.

Fu Linghe's arms clamped around her like an iron clamp, so tightly that she could hardly breathe.

He buried his face in the crook of her neck, his breath hot on her skin, greedily absorbing her unique scent.

"You said it." His voice was muffled, with a barely perceptible tremor. "Don't even think about regretting it in this lifetime."

Yun Zheng felt a hint of wetness on her neck, and her heart trembled violently.

She gently stroked his back, like soothing a wounded animal, "Well, no regrets."

Fu Linghe suddenly raised his head, his eyes crimson. He grabbed the back of her head and kissed her fiercely.

His kiss was filled with an almost crazy possessiveness!

Yun Zheng felt dizzy from the kiss, but still responded to him gently.

When both were out of breath, he pulled away slightly and rested his forehead against hers. "Remember, you are mine."

"Always." Yun Zheng replied with a chuckle.

Fu Linghe finally showed his first genuine smile of the day, and that smile made him feel softer.

The red light countdown was almost over, and he fastened her seat belt.

When the light turned green, he started the car again and said, "Go home."

"Not angry anymore?" Yun Zheng tilted her head to look at him.

"Angry." He stared straight ahead, his lips curled up slightly, "So you have to make it up to me tonight."

Yun Zheng's face instantly turned red, "Fu Linghe!"
