Chapter 289 Doctor Jiang is particularly handsome today!

Chapter 289 Dr. Jiang is particularly handsome today!

The morning light is dim.

At 5:40 in the morning, Jiang Chenyu woke up before his alarm clock even rang.

And I can never sleep again!

He sat up in bed, and the bedside lamp automatically turned on warm light.

Jiang Chenyu rubbed his eyebrows, and the hair on the back of his neck curled into small curls, just like the hair of the little Teddy that Cen Lian sent him yesterday.

The corners of his lips couldn't help but show a beautiful curve.

He got off the bed, picked up the white shirt beside him, stood by the mirror, and buttoned it one by one.

The reflection in the mirror still showed signs of fatigue, but when he thought of Cen Lian, a glimmer of light appeared in his eyes.

When the coffee machine in the kitchen began to hum, Fu Linghe was coming down from the second floor. Water droplets on the ends of his hair slid down the outline of his face and sank into his collar.

"So early?" He raised his eyebrows and saw Jiang Chenyu putting sandwiches into the thermos.

"We have to finish three post-operative follow-up appointments before eight o'clock." Jiang Chenyu fastened the lid of the thermos, the metal buckle making a soft click. "I have an appointment with her at the aquarium this afternoon."

He spoke casually, but when he mentioned "aquarium", the tips of his ears quickly turned slightly red.

Fu Linghe paused while pouring coffee, his eyes falling on the red mark at the base of his ring finger, which was the mark left by him gripping the sketchbook too hard last night.

"Do you need me to help you clear the place in advance so you can experience the feeling of being alone together?"

"Go away." Jiang Chenyu kicked him, but turned back before leaving, took out a box of peach yogurt that Cen Lian'an liked from the refrigerator, and then went out.

In the hospital, the morning light shines through the screen window, weaving a pale golden net on his white coat, like some kind of secret expectation.

The hospital corridor smelled of disinfectant mixed with the scent of morning dew.

Jiang Chenyu put his hands in the pockets of his white coat, tightly holding his mobile phone, for fear of missing any news.

When he passed by the nurses' station, the young nurse covered her mouth and laughed, "Doctor Jiang looks especially handsome today!"

He raised his eyebrows, his tone a little unruly, "Am I not this handsome every day?"

But when he lowered his head, he quietly tightened his tie again.

The sunlight from Clinic No. 3 slanted across the table.

When Jiang Chenyu finished reading the last CT report, the clock had just passed half past ten.

He stared at the phone blankly for a long time. The moment the video request was connected, he heard his own heartbeat.

Cen Lian on the screen was still curled up in the quilt, his hair messy like a bird's nest, but the moment he saw him, his eyes lit up as if the clouds had suddenly parted and the sun was shining.

"Doctor Jiang?" Her voice was soft, like she'd just woken up, and the pillow's checkered mark was left on her cheek. "Why are you video chatting in your white coat? Are you not working properly?"

He leaned back in his office chair, stroking the pen cap with his fingertips, and suddenly remembered drawing her last night.

"I want you to see..." He deliberately dragged out the last word. The sunlight filtered through the blinds behind him, gilding his profile. "What I look like in uniform."

The tips of Cen Lian'an's ears suddenly turned red.

She saw the man on the screen leaning forward slightly, his eyelashes casting fan-shaped shadows under his eyes, and the collar of his white coat was open, revealing a small piece of collarbone.

"Does it look good?" His voice lowered, and the pen formed a beautiful arc under his fingertips.

"Hmm..." She buried her face in the pillow, her voice muffled, "Like the aloof doctor in the TV show."

Jiang Chenyu chuckled and suddenly stood up and moved closer to the camera.

Cen Lian could see his own reflection in his pupils, as well as the hospital badge on the second button of his white coat.

"That aloof doctor..." He lowered his voice, his Adam's apple rolling, "I want to ask you to go to the aquarium to see beluga whales at 3 pm. Does that count as being off-duty?"

There was a rustling sound under the pillow. She poked out half of her face, her eyes curved into crescents. "Doctor Jiang, are you sure you're only going to see the beluga whale, not... me?"

Jiang Chenyu's breathing paused slightly, the pen stopped at his fingertips, and the metal pen cap reflected a fine light in the sunlight.

He suddenly smiled, his eyes curved slightly, but his voice was deliberately lowered, "That depends on... who is more distracting, the white whale or you."

Cen Lian on the other side of the screen blinked, his eyelashes fluttering in the morning light, as if he was caught off guard by his straight shot, but he couldn't help but curl up the corners of his mouth.

"Doctor Jiang." She drawled slowly, her fingertips unconsciously curling the corner of the quilt. "Are you usually... so good at 'diagnosing' a patient's heartbeat?"

He chuckled, tapped the camera lens with his knuckles, and tapped her nose through the screen. "Only works for certain cases."

"Okay, get up first. I'll pick you up after get off work." Jiang Chenyu looked at the person on the phone with a smile.

Cen Lian nodded, stretched, and then said, "Okay, see you later."

After hanging up the video, Jiang Chenyu stared at the black screen of his phone and smiled foolishly for a long time.

The camphor tree outside the window rustled in the breeze, and he remembered that the official website of the aquarium said that beluga whales would blow bubbles in front of their lovers.

At noon in the staff cafeteria, Nurse Xiao Wu came over with a tray of food and asked, "Does Doctor Jiang have an appointment today?"

He raised his eyebrows and asked subconsciously, "How do you know?"

"Are you really going on a date?" Xiao Wu laughed gossipingly. "Then I think the person Dr. Jiang likes must be very special. The last time Director Zhang introduced you to Qianjin, you left before you even finished your coffee."

Jiang Chenyu took a bite of the sandwich, and the warmth of the soft-boiled egg spread over his tongue.

"It's very special," he whispered. The sunlight from the window fell on the yogurt carton on the plate, and the peach pattern swayed in the light and shadow. "So special... I want to give it to her for the rest of my life."

At 2:58 pm, Jiang Chenyu stood at the entrance of the aquarium and adjusted his tie.

The white coat was replaced with a light gray windbreaker, which was a Korean style outfit.

He touched the small box in his pocket. It was not a ring, but a whale-shaped brooch.

Cen Lian'an likes the sea and shells, and he thinks he should also like sea creatures.

When Jiang Chenyu left the hospital, he sent a message to Cen Lian, put down his phone, and drove towards the Cen family's old house.
