Chapter 292 An Unintentional Kiss

Chapter 292 An Unintentional Kiss

Cen Lian's eyes widened slightly, and his eyelashes cast tiny shadows under the light.

Jiang Chenyu's words were like a piece of red-hot charcoal, falling into her heart unexpectedly and stirring up a steaming mist.

She opened her mouth, but no sound came out, obviously frightened by his sudden confession.

Jiang Chenyu noticed her stiffness, his eyes darkened, then he let go of her hand as if nothing had happened and helped her to her seat.

"Eat first." His voice returned to its usual gentleness, as if the confession just now was just her illusion.

The waiter brought the dishes at the right time, and the exquisite porcelain plates shone with a warm luster under the light.

Cen Lian mechanically picked up the chopsticks and picked up a piece of steamed sea bass. The fish meat was tender, but she could not taste anything.

"Not to your liking?" Jiang Chenyu noticed that she hardly moved her chopsticks.

Cen Lian shook his head, his wrist trembling slightly when he put down his chopsticks.

"I... want to drink some wine." She spoke softly, her eyes falling on the drink list on the table.

Jiang Chenyu looked at her pale face, hesitated for a moment, and then waved for the waiter. "A glass of plum wine and a cup of oolong tea."

"Two cups of plum wine." Cen Lian suddenly looked up, with a stubborn glint in his eyes, "I want to drink."

Jiang Chenyu stared at her for a few seconds, and finally compromised, "One glass of plum wine, and one glass of low-alcohol grapefruit wine."

The wine arrived quickly, the amber liquid swirling in the glass.

Cen Lian picked up the glass and drank it all in one gulp. The heat of the alcohol burned from her throat to her stomach, allowing her to finally regain a sense of reality.

"Drink slowly." Jiang Chenyu frowned and reached out to take her cup.

Cen Li'an had already ordered a second and third cup. Her cheeks gradually flushed, and her eyes began to blur, but she stubbornly refused to stop.

"An An..." Jiang Chenyu's voice was filled with helplessness and heartache.

"You know what?" Cen Lian suddenly laughed, tapping the cup lightly with his fingertips. "He clearly said he wanted to go watch the meteor shower with me... Liar! Only knows how to lie!"

Jiang Chenyu's knuckles were clenched white under the table, but he just looked at her silently.

After the fourth glass of wine, Cen Lian'an's eyes became completely blurred. She tried to stand up by holding on to the table, but almost fell down.

Jiang Chenyu quickly supported her, his warm palms on her waist, "Let's go home."

Cen Li'an shook his head and leaned against him. "Don't go home..."

She muttered, her breath carrying the sweet scent of plums, "I'm going to...see the stars..."

Jiang Chenyu half supported and half hugged her out of the restaurant. The night breeze blew across her hot cheeks, making her unconsciously shrink into his arms.

His windbreaker wrapped around her thin shoulders, and the scent of cedar mixed with the aroma of wine made her feel inexplicably at ease.

The parking lot was empty, with only a few street lamps casting a dim light.

Jiang Chenyu carefully placed her in the passenger seat and fastened her seat belt.

Just as he was about to stand up, Cen Lian suddenly reached out and grabbed his tie.

"Doctor Jiang..." Her voice was soft and drunken, "You are so beautiful..."

Jiang Chenyu froze in place, her fingertips unconsciously stroking his Adam's apple.

He took a deep breath and gently held her restless hand. "You are drunk."

Cen Lian suddenly smiled, his eyes curved into crescents.

"I'm not drunk..." She tilted her head, "I know... you are Jiang Chenyu..."

Jiang Chenyu shook his head helplessly, closed the car door and walked around to the driver's seat.

As soon as the car started, I heard a "click" sound - Cen Lian unbuckled his seat belt.

"Stop it." He frowned and was about to tie it for her again, but Cen Lian leaned over and his breath with the scent of alcohol sprayed on his neck.

"An An!" Jiang Chenyu hurriedly stepped on the brakes and held her shaking shoulders with both hands.

Cen Lian'an put his arms around his neck and pressed his soft lips against his without warning.

This kiss was sweet with plums and strong with alcohol, raw but passionate.

Jiang Chenyu's mind went blank, and he only felt her trembling eyelashes brushing across his cheek.

Three seconds, or even longer, Cen Li'an stepped back a little, looking at him with misty eyes, a look of grievance, "Why... why don't you hug me?"

Jiang Chenyu's breathing was heavy, and his eyes were filled with the desire to restrain himself.

He slowly raised his hand, his fingertips caressing her flushed cheek. "Because you're not sober right now."

Cen Lian wrinkled his nose, as if dissatisfied with the answer, and leaned forward to bite his lips lightly.

"I'm sober..." she muttered, running her fingers through his hair, "I know... you're Jiang Chenyu..."

Her voice became quieter and quieter, and she finally fell asleep on his shoulder.

Jiang Chenyu froze and didn't dare to move until he was sure that she was really asleep. Then he carefully put her back in the seat and fastened her seat belt again.

The moonlight shone through the car window onto her peaceful sleeping face, and her eyelashes cast a small shadow on her face.

Jiang Chenyu gently wiped away the wine stains from the corner of her lips, his fingertips stayed on her lips for a moment, and finally withdrew.

The car slowly drove into the night, and Jiang Chenyu's eyes fell on the person sleeping beside him from time to time.

The warmth of that kiss with the scent of wine still lingered on his lips...
