Chapter 309: Mrs. Fu doesn’t know what I want?

Chapter 309 Mrs. Fu doesn’t know what I want

Inside the banquet hall.

The light from the crystal chandelier was still dazzling, but it couldn't illuminate Luo Zhi's pale face.

She slumped in the center of the stage, the hem of her carefully chosen dress spread out like a lily wilted by a rainstorm.

Her fingertips were digging into the carpet so hard that two of her new manicures had broken, and she was completely unaware of the blood seeping from between her fingers.

The whispers of the guests below the stage were like the sound of a poisonous snake, echoing one after another in the huge banquet hall.

"Everything was fine just now, why did the groom suddenly run away?"

"And the girl that Young Master Cheng was dragging away just now seems to be the daughter of the Cen family..."

"What a shame! The Luo family has completely lost face this time."

Every word was like a knife stabbing into Luo Zhi's heart.

She mechanically stroked her flat belly, and the diamond ring reflected a dazzling light under the light.

This should have been her happiest day, but it became the laughing stock of the entire upper class society.

Someone knocked over the champagne tower, and the glass cups shattered one after another, making a crisp sound.

Amber liquid dripped down the edge of the stage, looking like tears.

In a corner not far away.

Yun Zheng lazily leaned on Fu Linghe's shoulder, her red lips curled up in a playful arc, "An An and the others have been out for so long and haven't come back yet, they should have gone back, right?"

Her slender fingertips twirled around Fu Linghe's tie. "We've seen enough of the excitement. Let's go home."

Fu Linghe lowered his eyes to look at her, a smile flashing in his eyes.

He reached out and pinched the back of her neck, like stroking a lazy cat. "Are you tired of it already?"

"It's boring." Yun Zheng curled her lips. "It's far worse than the Zhou family's engagement party last time. There wasn't even a decent scene of people fighting each other."

Fu Linghe chuckled, put his arm around her waist and stood up.

Yun Zheng's high heels made a slight rustling sound as they stepped on the rose petals all over the ground.

When a guest cast an inquiring look at her, she responded with a provocative smile and deliberately leaned closer to Fu Linghe's arms.

The couple came to the parking lot.

The night wind blew across Yun Zheng's bare shoulders, and she couldn't help but shiver slightly.

Fu Linghe immediately took off his suit jacket and put it on her. The remaining body temperature mixed with the scent of cedar wrapped her whole body.

"Cold?" He opened the passenger door and said in a low voice.

Yun Zheng shook her head, but when she got in, the hem of her skirt accidentally got caught on the seat belt buckle.

Fu Linghe leaned over to help her tidy up, and his slender fingers accidentally brushed against her slender ankle.

Yun Zheng's heart suddenly skipped a beat. She came to her senses and quickly stepped back.

The interior of the car is filled with the scent of a mixture of high-quality leather and sandalwood.

Fu Linghe leaned over to help her fasten her seat belt. Yun Zheng didn't bother to be polite with him. She had gradually gotten used to the feeling of being served by him.

"Are you tired?" he suddenly asked, with a barely perceptible tenderness in his voice.

Yun Zheng raised an eyebrow, "What?"

Fu Linghe started the car, and the blue light from the dashboard reflected on his angular profile, outlining a perfect contour line.

"If you're not tired, I'll take you somewhere."

"Now?" Yun Zheng's eyes lit up instantly, like a little fox seeing its prey.

"Yeah." He steered with one hand, his cufflinks scraping against the leather seat, making a slight sound. "There's an auction tonight that I thought you might be interested in."

Yun Zheng's interest was piqued by the man. She tilted her head slightly to look at him, her eyes full of excitement and curiosity. "Jewelry, Kingfisher Crown"

Fu Linghe raised the corners of his lips slightly, and tapped his fingertips on the steering wheel twice. "You'll know when we get there."

The car drove into the depths of the neon lights, and the flowing lights were reflected on the windshield.

Yun Zheng propped up her chin and looked out the window, the shadows of the trees on the roadside passing across her delicate profile.

The red light ahead came on and the car slowly stopped.

The neon light shone through the car window, casting mottled colors on Fu Linghe's profile.

He tapped the steering wheel with his fingertips in a lazy rhythm, but his eyes swept over Yun Zheng vaguely.

Yun Zheng was staring out the window in a daze when she suddenly felt a gaze falling on her. She glanced sideways and happened to meet Fu Linghe's deep eyes.

"What are you looking at?" She raised her eyebrows, her tone full of her usual arrogance.

Fu Linghe chuckled and suddenly leaned closer.

Yun Zheng's breathing stagnated slightly, and she subconsciously leaned back, her back against the car door.

The man's scent enveloped the sky, a scent of cedar mixed with a hint of tobacco, quite aggressive.

He placed his slender hands on the car door behind Yun Zheng, and said in a low, hoarse voice with a hint of temptation, "Zheng Zheng, there's something in my eye. Can you help me take a look?"

Upon hearing this, Yun Zheng immediately raised her hand and turned on the ceiling light in the car.

The lights inside the car suddenly lit up, and a warm halo spread in the narrow space, giving Yun Zheng's profile a soft outline.

She raised her hands to hold Fu Linghe's face and moved closer.

The man's eyebrows and eyes were particularly clear under the light, his eyelashes were as thick as crow feathers, casting a shadow on his eyelids, and his deep pupils reflected her slightly panicked look.

"Where?" She pretended to be calm, and gently opened his eyelids with her fingertips. Her fingertips accidentally rubbed his skin, which felt warm and dry.

She leaned closer, her breath almost brushing his face, "I didn't see anything..."

Fu Linghe chuckled softly, his Adam's apple rolling, and suddenly grabbed her wrist with a force that was neither light nor heavy, making it impossible for her to break free.

His voice was low and laughing, with a hint of teasing, "How could there not be?"

Yun Zheng was startled and subconsciously looked up, meeting his half-smile.

He rubbed her wrist bones with his fingertips and said slowly, "Isn't it all you see in my eyes?"

Yun Zheng: “…”

She instantly loosened her grip and pushed him away, the tips of her ears burning. "Fu Linghe, where did you learn all these corny love words?"

The man laughed muffledly, his chest vibrating, and took hold of her waving hand. He passed his knuckles through her fingers, interlocked theirs, and pressed her slender hand against the seat.

"Rust?" He raised an eyebrow, pinched her burning earlobe with his other hand, and said in a low, hoarse voice, "But your ears are red."

Yun Zheng was so angry that she raised her foot to kick him, "Let go!"

Fu Linghe was prepared. He pressed his knee against her thrashing legs, leaned forward, and pressed his thin lips almost to her ear. "If you move again, the seatbelt won't be able to hold you in place."

A warm breath brushed past her ears, carrying a faint scent of cedar. Yun Zheng froze, her breathing stagnant, and she glared at him, "You..."

Before she finished speaking, the red light turned green and the stagnant traffic began to move. The light flowed on the windshield, illuminating the clear outline of his profile.

Fu Linghe slowly sat back in the driver's seat, one hand on the steering wheel, his sleeves slightly rolled up, revealing a cold white wrist with sharp wrist bone lines.

He looked straight ahead, but a smile was on the corner of his lips. He said in a low voice, "Sit down, Mrs. Fu."

Yun Zheng pulled his suit jacket over her head and said in a muffled voice, a bit embarrassed and annoyed, "Drive your car!"

The neon lights outside the car window were shining brightly, and the traffic was noisy, but inside the car, Yun Zheng's heartbeat was deafening and did not subside for a long time.

Half an hour later, Fu Linghe's Cullinan stopped steadily in front of a glass-curtain-walled building. The moment the headlights went out, the receptionist at the building's entrance quickly stepped forward.

He walked around the front of the car, placed his slender fingers on the passenger door handle, pulled it gently, and opened the door for her like a gentleman, "Madam, please get out of the car."

Yun Zheng stepped out of the car wearing high heels, and the hem of her skirt swayed in an elegant arc as she moved.

Fu Linghe placed his hand on her waist at the right moment, and the warmth of his palm came through the thin fabric, burning her ears like a branding iron, causing them to turn red again.

"Mr. Fu." The manager, wearing a dark-patterned cheongsam, bowed ninety degrees, the pearl hairpins in her bun unmoving. "Your box will remain."

There was a long queue in front of the crystal capital verification counter at the entrance of the auction hall, and several socialites dressed in high fashion were anxiously searching for proof of assets.

In Beijing, Fu Linghe's face is his biggest asset, so there is no need to verify his capital. The waiter took them directly to the private room.

The elevator goes directly to the second floor, and through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, you can see the entire auction hall on the first floor.

The chilled Dom Perignon champagne in the box was emitting fine bubbles.

Just as Yun Zheng picked up the wine glass, Fu Linghe suddenly put his arms around her from behind and took away her wine glass.

"This wine is quite strong. You can try it if you want, but it would be bad if Madam accidentally drinks too much."

Fu Linghe held the champagne glass with his slender fingers, and the water droplets condensed on the wall of the glass slid down his knuckles.

He gently placed the rim of the cup against Yun Zheng's lips, and said in a low voice with a hint of temptation, "Just one sip."

Yun Zheng raised the corners of her eyes slightly and took a sip from his hand.

The cold wine slides across the tip of the tongue, bubbles burst between the lips and teeth, with a sweet fruity aroma and a slightly tipsy taste that spreads instantly.

She was about to drink again when Fu Linghe had already moved the glass away.

"Is Mr. Fu so stingy?" Yun Zheng pouted in dissatisfaction, with crystal wine still stained on her red lips.

Fu Linghe's eyes darkened, and he suddenly leaned over, pressing his thin lips against her wet lips.

The kiss came unexpectedly. Yun Zheng subconsciously grabbed the front of his shirt, and her fingertips touched his warm chest.

"Taste it this way." He licked his lips contentedly as he pulled away. "It's safer."

Yun Zheng's ears were burning, and she was about to explode when the auctioneer's voice came through clearly, "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to tonight's China Guardian Auction."

The auctioneer's deep voice carried throughout the room through the surround sound system. "The first lot is a Ming Dynasty Yongle blue and white plum vase with lotus pattern. Starting price: 5 million..."

Yun Zheng reached out and pushed the man away, then sat up straight, trying to hide her true feelings. She smoothed her slightly messy hair with her slender fingers.

She stared at the auction table without blinking, deliberately avoiding Fu Linghe's burning gaze, but the red tips of her ears betrayed her panic.

"A Ming Dynasty Yongle blue and white plum vase with lotus pattern sold for 8.2 million!" the auctioneer said with the final word.

Fu Linghe leaned lazily on the leather sofa, his eyes behind his gold-rimmed glasses always on Yun Zheng.

He slowly unbuttoned his cuffs, revealing a well-defined wrist, and deliberately placed his arm on the back of the sofa behind her.

"Next lot, a Qing Dynasty Qianlong Emperor-era enameled bowl with flower and bird designs..."

The sound of the auction downstairs could still be heard clearly.

Yun Zheng forced himself to focus on the auction, but he felt the man's presence everywhere, making it impossible for him to concentrate at all.

His slender fingers had wrapped around a strand of her hair at some point, and he was playing with it vaguely.

She turned her head suddenly and met Fu Linghe's half-smile.

"Mrs. Fu, you're looking so intently." He lowered his voice, his warm breath brushing against her ear. "Are you planning on picking out a gift for me?"

Yun Zheng snorted softly and deliberately moved aside. "Mr. Fu, just take the photos yourself."

Fu Linghe chuckled softly, then suddenly reached out and clasped her wrist, gently rubbing his fingertips against her pulse. "Don't you know what I want, Mrs. Fu?"
