Chapter 376 Pregnant

Chapter 376 Pregnancy

The crystal chandelier illuminated the restaurant, and the long table was filled with exquisite dishes.

A steamed sea bass was placed in front of Yun Zheng, sprinkled with emerald green onions and tender yellow ginger shreds. The aroma of steamed fish soy sauce mixed with the hot steam rose up.

Fu Linghe picked up the chopsticks, and with his slender fingers, he deftly opened the fish belly and put the tenderest piece of fish meat into Yun Zheng's bowl.

He lowered his head and concentrated on picking out the fish bones, his silver-gray hair casting a small shadow under the light.

"Okay, no more bones." He said in a low voice and gently pushed the fish meat with the bones removed in front of Yun Zheng.

Yun Zheng smiled sweetly at him. Just as she picked up the fish and brought it to her mouth, a strong fishy smell suddenly rushed into her nose.

She frowned, her stomach churning.

"Ugh—" She suddenly covered her mouth, pushed away the chair and rushed to the bathroom.

"Zheng Zheng!" Fu Linghe's face suddenly changed. He immediately stood up and chased after her. The chair made a harsh sound as it scraped against the floor.

In the bathroom, Yun Zheng was kneeling beside the toilet and vomiting violently.

Fu Linghe knelt on one knee beside her, gathered her scattered long hair with one hand and patted her back with the other.

"Zheng Zheng..., are you okay?" There was a rare panic in his voice and his brows were furrowed.

Yun Zheng suppressed her nausea and shook her head.

She was feeling very uncomfortable now, but she definitely couldn't tell him that she was uncomfortable, otherwise the man would get worried again.

In the restaurant, everyone in the Mohist School looked at each other in bewilderment.

Ning Zhi was the first to stand up. "I'll go get a glass of warm water."

She walked quickly to the kitchen, her bracelets jingling against her wrists.

Mo Chenfeng frowned and looked towards the bathroom, his fingers tapping the table unconsciously.

Mr. Mo stood up with the help of a cane, and knocked the mahogany cane heavily on the marble floor.

"What are you still standing there for? Go call a doctor!" He spoke in a loud voice, and his old voice was filled with undisguised worry.

In the bathroom, Yun Zheng finally stopped vomiting and leaned weakly in Fu Linghe's arms.

She hadn't eaten anything today, so she dry heaved for a while but didn't vomit anything.

Fu Linghe gently wiped the cold sweat from her forehead with a handkerchief, his movements as gentle as if he were treating a fragile item.

"Let's go to the hospital now."

This is not a discussion, but a decision.

"No need..." Yun Zheng shook her head, her voice weak, "Maybe it's because I drank a little last night. I just need to rest for a while."

She tried to stand up, but her legs gave way.

Fu Linghe picked her up without saying a word.

Yun Zheng exclaimed and subconsciously put her arms around his neck.

"Fu Linghe! Put me down!" A blush appeared on her pale face. "There are only elders outside..."

"Don't move." He looked down at her and said in a deep voice, striding towards the living room.

Seeing this, everyone immediately gathered around.

"How about it?"

"Is it serious?"

"The doctor will be here soon."

Amidst the chatter of concern, Fu Linghe carefully placed Yun Zheng on the sofa.

Ning Zhi immediately handed over some warm water. Yun Zheng took a sip and felt her stomach feel better.

In less than ten minutes, Mo's family doctor rushed over.

This old doctor, who is over sixty years old, is very experienced and has served the Mohist School for thirty years.

"Have you been feeling unwell recently?" the doctor asked while taking your pulse.

Yun Zheng thought about it, glanced at Fu Linghe, and shook her head. "No, I just drank a little last night, and my stomach felt a little uncomfortable this morning."

The old doctor's fingers lingered on her wrist for a moment, and his brows suddenly raised.

He opened the medicine box, took out an early pregnancy test and handed it to Ning Zhi.

"Madam, please take Miss for a test."

Fu Linghe's body stiffened, and his obsidian pupils suddenly contracted.

The doctor's words instantly exploded in Yun Zheng's ears.

Yun Zheng's fingertips trembled violently, and the cup of water almost slipped from her hands.

"What...what do you mean?" Her voice was so soft that it was almost inaudible. Her ears were buzzing, as if all the sounds had been taken away, leaving only the pounding heartbeat in her chest.

Ning Zhi took the test paper and gently held her shoulders. "Zheng Zheng, come with me. Mom will take you to get tested."

Yun Zheng stood up in a daze, her legs felt like they were stepping on cotton, and her whole body felt light and airy.

She subconsciously looked at Fu Linghe. His expression was more tense than ever before, and his silver-gray hair looked particularly cold under the light, but his dark eyes were so hot that they almost burned her.

She opened her mouth, but couldn't utter a word. She could only let Ning Zhi lead her to the bathroom.

After closing the door, Yun Zheng stared at herself in the mirror. Her face was pale, her lips were trembling slightly, and her eyes were full of confusion and disbelief.

"Don't be afraid," Ning Zhi gently tidied her messy hair, "It's just a test, it's quick."

Yun Zheng took the test paper mechanically, her fingertips were cold.

Her mind was blank, and all her thoughts were like shattered bubbles that could not be pieced together.

How is it possible... She and Fu Linghe have always been very careful and have taken measures every time.

But the recent abnormalities of the body emerged very clearly at this moment: drowsiness, occasional dizziness, and that faint fishy smell.

She had always thought it was due to a hangover.

"Zheng Zheng?" Ning Zhi called her softly, "Are you okay?"

Yun Zheng finally came to her senses and discovered that her knuckles, which were gripping the test paper, had turned white.

She took a deep breath and unwrapped it tremblingly.

The five minutes of waiting felt like a century.

She sat on the toilet lid, staring at the patterns on the floor, her heart beating so fast that it almost burst out of her chest.

Ning Zhi gently held her hand. "It doesn't matter what the outcome is. You are still young."

Yun Zheng forced herself to pull up the corners of her mouth, but couldn't smile.

Until two clear red lines slowly appeared on the test paper.

Her pupils suddenly constricted, and her breathing stopped for a moment, "Mom, this is..."

Ning Zhi took a look, a hint of understanding flashed in her eyes, and then she patted her back gently, "Congratulations, Zhengzheng, you are pregnant."

Yun Zheng seemed to be nailed to the spot, with only the roar of rushing blood in her ears.

Really... got it?

She is pregnant.

Her and Fu Linghe's...child?

An indescribable emotion exploded from the bottom of my heart, like surprise, like helplessness, and more of an unreal trance.

Fu Linghe's low, tense voice came from outside the door, "Zheng Zheng?"

Yun Zheng stood up suddenly, but because she moved too quickly, her vision went dark and she almost fell down.

Ning Zhi quickly supported her, "Slow down!"

She steadied her breath, pushed open the door, and met Fu Linghe's dark eyes.

His eyes were fixed on her face, his Adam's apple rolled, and his voice was hoarse, "...how is it?"

Yun Zheng opened her mouth, but found that her voice was stuck in her throat.

She slowly raised the test paper in her hand, and the two red lines were particularly dazzling under the light.

Fu Linghe's pupils suddenly constricted.

The next second, he suddenly reached out and pulled her into his arms with such force that she almost couldn't breathe.

The man's heartbeat could be felt through his chest, fast and heavy, like the beating of a drum.

"Fu Linghe..." She called him softly, her voice trembling slightly, "I...we...are having a baby."

He bent down and kissed the top of her head, his voice unusually low, "Hmm."

Yun Zheng's eyes suddenly turned red.

She buried herself in his arms, listening to his equally disordered heartbeat.

The living room was silent and everyone held their breath.

Old Master Mo's hand, leaning on his cane, was trembling slightly. Ning Zhi's eyes were already filled with tears, while Mo Chenfeng stared at them in a daze. After a long while, he whispered, "Happy event, this is a great joy."

Fu Linghe tightened his arms and hugged Yun Zheng even tighter, as if he was afraid that she would disappear in the next second.

His voice was hoarse. "...How long?"

Yun Zheng shook her head, her nose aching. "I... I don't know either..."

Yun Zheng has been so busy lately that she didn't even notice anything wrong with her body.

The old doctor stepped forward at the right moment and coughed lightly. "Judging from the pulse, it should have been over a month. But we still need to go to the hospital for a detailed examination."

Fu Linghe's Adam's apple rolled, and he suddenly bent down and picked up Yun Zheng horizontally. His movements were gentle but unyielding. "Let's go to the hospital now."

Yun Zheng exclaimed, subconsciously grabbing his collar, "Wait..."

"I can't wait." He looked down at her, his dark eyes swirling with intense emotion, but his voice was extremely soft. "Zheng Zheng, I want to make sure you and the child are okay."

Yun Zheng's heart trembled and her eyes became hot again.

She had never seen Fu Linghe like this before.

This man, who was always calm and composed, now had a hint of panic and caution in his eyes.

She nodded gently, buried her face in the crook of his neck, and muttered, "Okay, go now."

Fu Linghe carried her and strode out. Mr. Mo quickly told the driver to prepare the car. Ning Zhi hurriedly followed, "I'll go get a coat. It's cold at night!"

Yun Zheng was held firmly in his arms, and his strong heartbeat was heard in her ears.

She raised her eyes quietly and saw his tense jawline and slightly red eyes, and her heart suddenly softened.

The child came suddenly, Yun Zheng was not even prepared, and it was completely beyond Fu Linghe's expectations.

It turns out that loving someone means you will panic for her, lose control for her, and become no longer yourself for her.

Just like Fu Linghe at this moment.
